I know its a common saying that theres never a wrong time to ask for a priesthood blessing. What about when you just want one..because you do? Like, you don't have anything going on really. Nothing challenging or testing. You just want a priesthood blessing...does that make sense? I guess I just love blessings and love the power of the priesthood...is that odd? edit: Also, just saying I'm not like getting a blessing every night or anything like that. I actually feel very uncomfortable asking for priesthood blessings, even around finals time. My last blessing was several months ago after a friend died. And, even then I didn't ask, they offered during church. So yea :)

I like fans idea :) Personally I rarely ever dream. And, when I do i don't think it means anything. Like last night i dreamt about one of my friends and I getting married. I'm not going to marry him, that I'm 100% sure of. I saw a movie about weddings last night and went to bed thinking about him. It's all about your mind using whats happening in your mind and forming something.

Sidenote: Ben, on fathers day the lady who gave the talk said a very similar thing. Our role models on tv are crap. So, what do you expect people to subconsciously think about fatherhood?

I have this problem. Especially when talking about language in church I'll start thinking of swear words... thing is there just words right? I mean I could be thinking "toothpaste" over and over. I do the same thing when we talk about sins in church. I'll suddenly think of all of my worst sins. I've repented of them but still I have trouble not thinking about it. I suppose my thought process is odd.... If I just think it randomly I don't feel guilty. If I think it because I'm angry, mad ect and I want to express myself with the word then i feel guilty. :)

I was the OP in that NY legalization thread and I posted my favorite scripture on facebook. Although thats not really unusual for me. I post scriptures and my favorite Mormon message videos all the time. So, i agree with what Vort said. And the fact I didn't see this thread until later.

I'm gonna chime in here. What about those people who actually love the way they look? I'm fat and I adore myself haha. I'm not lazy, i'm not addicted to food but I'm also not going on any sort of special program to loose the weight because I love myself just the way I am. What I find disturbing is how unconfident people are. It annoys the heck out of me. People just need to be happy with themselves. And, if there no happy then freaking change it! Don't go around complaining. But, also don't go around complaining about others. Because maybe they love the way they look. Did anyone ever consider that?

My stake has several branches. I'm in upstate NY. Although, I attend a ward.

I disagree. Yes, the world has changed and porn and immodesty are more prevalent then ever before. However, I think there is a difference between intent, perception and the affect. I'm all for having an art class pain a nude model as long as its not viewed in a sexual way, the painters don't depict her in a sexual way while painting. As for the viewer of the painter, this leads back to the whole 'anything can be porn' thing.

Okay, what about a picture of a naked child? Is that porn? Porn is something that makes people feel sexual feelings. To some a picture of a cat could be there porn( yes, there are people like that.) You can use anything for nefarious purposes. The line depends on the person in some cases. In others its more cut and dry. What about the statue of david or other art of nude women? What about the painting or picture of a naked pregnant women? My mom has a picture of herself nude while she was pregnant with me. It's not nasty and captures the feeling of motherhood. Is that porn? Obviously in cases involving women posed in sexual positions that would be porn. Plain and simple. And, if the statue of david turns you on then that, to you is porn.

Theres a difference between porn and a naked body. If the body is objectified to look sexual or otherwise its Porn. A naked body isn't porn nor do I believe its 'disgusting'
