  1. Wash your mouth out with Open Source for saying the MS word.
  2. I saw a report that said that only 1% of the business of the world could survive without the Internet. As an IT professional, if the Internet goes down for my customers, they're devastated. We had a fiber cut down here once that took out cellphone and long distance. It got pretty ugly when you couldn't run a credit card and get paid for a transaction. It was like the whole world stop. Reminds me of the 1950's movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still". We had to drive south to Mesquite to regain cell coverage and get status report on our servers in Salt Lake. That few days was absolutely nuts.
  3. I would 2nd what Margin of Error has said. I would let Bishop training and PPI take care of those concerns. The stake president has input from the auxiliary leaders and if there is a real issue with it, it will take its course.
  4. I own an IT company and everything you said is part of the nightmare. The one I love is when people call you up and act like they are actually concerned about how your life is...then here is comes...."I have a quick question for you". Right then in there, I tell them I have to go, I am late for a project meeting. After a while they get the hint. If I can I tell them to RTFM ( Read the **fantastic** manual ).
  5. Move forward and don't look back. The Lord believes in you, so you believe in him. He will protect you and help you deal with the physical issues. But I hear a great cure for arthritis is lots of home made cookies from home. So tell mom which ones you like, and tell her to keep them coming. Your companions will love your forever. Good way to bribe the District leader :) :)
  6. We need to wait and see. When they are done they will have the normal public release and we will find out all the things they can do with it.
  7. I really think this issue needs to be addressed in your ward. Church HQ has put this access permission in place for a reason. I suggest you talk to the stake clerk. Also don't be afraid of the line of authority on the local level, if after you have addressed with the Bishopric and the Ward Clerk. You have the right to talk to the stake clerk. If the Bishop direction is wrong it needs correcting. That is why they have Bishopric training meetings and PPI's. There has to be a REALLY good reason why they feel this way. But cutting people off so they can not manage their organization is very poor leadership. Don't forget the website of tech.lds.org and clerk.lds.org Lots of helpful info there. As a side note I have been a clerk going on eight years ..so I am getting old and cranking too. :) :) When I was called to be the ward clerk, I ask the previous clerk how long he has been serving. He reply was since I was sixteen. He was in his mid eighties then. So never complain about being stuck in a call. Think of it 68 years in a calling ...whew!!!
  8. Here's the bottom line. At the end of the month get your home teaching and visiting teaching reports entered into MLS. It is usually the secretaries job to do the data entry. Don't try to over complicate the process.
  9. Hi Everyone, My name is Eric and I presently serve as the Ward Clerk for our ward. It has been a rewarding experience for me, and I have learned a lot. My testimony is the God Live and Jesus is the Christ. They live and are their caring for us every moment of the day, if we will only ask for their help. Take Care
