  1. Interesting, I have the same degree and I also hid the fact I was a police officer because of the leftism.
  2. Oh I've been called a lot of names, including Nazi, by the political left. In person and online (mostly online.) I disagree with your theory (far more likely part.)
  3. Hmmmm...having been involved in such investigations a time or two I would say that is not accurate.
  4. She was part of the Visions of Glory crowd, which is a mixed bag, not a necessarily organized group.
  5. "What makes you think everyone in this meeting is Mormon? Oh well, we are in Utah. Not everyone in Utah is Mormon, look at yourself for example."
  6. No, @LDSGator is blond (see other female.)
  7. Pretty sure a Constitutional Republic is the best system until Christ puts in place His theocracy. If you disagree, instead of posting, go to LDS.org and plug Constitution into the search bar and read away.
  8. The part of the story @LDSGator is leaving out was he said, "let me sync your earbuds to my iPhone and you can listen to my cool playlist too." My ears still hurt.

  10. If I find it I will post it. In the meantime a quick search on the church website gives us this: Isaiah 2: Come to the Mountain of the Lord (churchofjesuschrist.org) Holes Isaiah 2:2–4—The Mountain of the Lord The “mountain of the Lord” refers to the temple. In Isaiah 2:2–4, Isaiah reported a vision and made a prophecy that has been fulfilled in many ways. He said that when the time comes that the Lord’s people put Him and His house above all things, and when they actively seek counsel from Him by going to His house, then Zion will be established among them and they will have peace and the promise of eternal life. Modern prophets have taught us the same doctrine. President Howard W. Hunter said, “Let us make the temple, with temple worship and temple covenants and temple marriage, our ultimate earthly goal and the supreme mortal experience” (in Conference Report, Oct. 1994, 118; or Ensign, Nov. 1994, 88). Another fulfillment of this prophecy has to do with the Lord’s house being established in the “top of the mountains” (Isaiah 2:2). Not only does the prophecy have symbolic reference to putting the temple in the highest place in our lives, but it also has a literal fulfillment in the location of the Church headquarters in the latter days. Regarding this prophecy of Isaiah, Elder Bruce R. McConkie said, “This has specific reference to the Salt Lake Temple and to the other temples built in the top of the Rocky Mountains, and it has a general reference to the temple yet to be built in the New Jerusalem in Jackson County, Missouri” (A New Witness for the Articles of Faith [1985], 539). Elder B. H. Roberts taught the importance of the law going forth from Zion when he said, “To me that is, in part, the law of Zion—the basic principle of the civil law of the land—a principle of the law that is going forth from Zion—the civil law that is to be established and maintained upon this blessed land of liberty, and that, eventually, will directly or indirectly bless and make free every land in all the world” (in Conference Report, Apr. 1908, 108).
  11. I seem to recall Pres. Hinckley saying that the church presence in SLC fulfilled that prophecy. There may have been others.
  12. No surprise. Hopefully they give her the death penalty.
  13. Making this one a criminal act, would be a nightmare for enforcement and abuse. It is not illegal to be verbally/emotionally abusive. While both are detestable, making it criminal would be a massive mistake.
  14. As @Vort said, it seemed more like you wanted a fight. See Vort's response above. I am going to do some strikethroughs on what you posted to more accurately reflect what I have experienced during my 26 years of investigations. I have been on THOUSANDS of domestic violence calls. This is a factor. Frequently it is about control. It is also about alcohol and drug addiction, anger management, impulse control, stress, being generally disagreeable as a person, some are even just plain evil. There are numerous reasons and combinations. Very few are charismatic. Nope. All kinds of abusers out there. Most victims are pretty good at hiding it during social situations. Most people don't know what to look for and will most likely not see the clues. That can be true, in addition to the factors I listed above. I struck through the disorder part because we can debate back and forth ad nauseam about what disorder in the context of domestic violence entails. Sexual abuse is not generally visible. Physical abuse can be visible, but many abusers also know this and strike body parts that are covered by clothing. If you meant that there are other underlying issues besides those, ok, I would agree. I'll take you at your word on this. Ok, but I question what your actual motives were based on things said above. I hope you will find the help you need to overcome what appears to be YEARS of abuse at the hands of the person who is supposed to be your closest and best friend. If you stay with your husband, I hope he finds the help he needs to overcome YEARS of abusive behaviors.
  15. Philippians 3:2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
  16. Also important to note...those essays were not written by Americans, nor was the editor an American. Much of the American left embraces communist and socialist philosophies.
  17. One of the few things he has gotten right.
  18. Not discounting other things you have posted, but a stat of 10-1 is way off. Somewhere between 70/30 to a 60/40 split would be more accurate (my knowledge comes from 26 years responding to domestic violence calls.) I would lean towards 65/35.
  19. Yea, try that with an aggressive dog. You're going to miss.
  20. An aggressive attacking large dog will not be deterred by a squirt gun. Pepper spray sure, but no squirt gun is going to do the job, even with ammonia.
  21. Yes, well in the D&D world, as stated, a wizard at first level only has 1-4 hit points. The domestic cat has two attacks that cause 1-2 each. That cat might go first, might hit both attacks and might max out damage. Wizard = dead in that scenario.
