Agreed.  It's like when people whine about guys like Trump avoiding taxes by working the system... If you don't like it, don't blame the CEOs or the tax lawyers... blame a tax code that's horrendously over complex.  (And probably deliberately.  Think about who makes the rules... Congresspeople who are mostly wealthy and own businesses.)

To be fair, I think the American perception on how reliable a jury verdict is has been damaged by the results of the OJ Simpson murder trial.  When it was over and the jury was shown a lot of the material Simpson's lawyers had successfully gotten thrown out, they universally admitted that he was guilty.  The public's perception, and this is probably accurate, was that Simpson's lawyers won that case because they were more successful at manipulating the rules of evidence, nitpicking details and generally making it impossible for the prosecution to get the story out.  Now, one can argue that this is exactly what a defense attorney SHOULD do, and I don't disagree... but this is a case where it definitely felt like the system was exploited, not used properly.
So anyway, people saw how good lawyers can manipulate the narrative to influence a jury, and so now when a jury returns a verdict that surprises us, we tend to wonder if they were being given the right information, whether we saw it in the media or not.

Uhhhh....I watch horror movies all year long...
 
 

CNN literally means Clinton News Network. I looked on their site today and saw an article titled something like "What You Need to Know About Clinton's Email Scandal". Almost the entire length of the article was devoted to examining Comey's role and excoriating him for his poor judgment.
Information about how Clinton may have broken the law and endangered the population of the United States? You will not find almost any such information in the article. Apparently, that's not what you need to know.

CNN's damage control team is just frantic this morning.  To hear them tell it, everybody knows how to be FBI Director except Comey.  While I was eating lunch they had on the Attorney General (I think) who is Comey's former mentor, basically talking about how Comey is a great guy and a man of integrity but this time he's just wrong...
...classy.

You just nailed what I think is a pretty chronic problem...  Individuals thinking that the mass media is somehow going to give them enough objective evidence to make them in a better position to "know the truth" then those who sit through hours of detailed arguments, and presentations of evidence and facts, and rebuttals, and then render a verdict.
 
Can things go wrong with our current justice system???  Of course and absolutely it can...  But we need a whole lot more then media sound-bites... and our own manipulated and ill formed opinion... before we think we are anywhere in the ballpark of those that went through the whole legal process to become intimately informed on the event and legal requirements surrounding it (aka the jurors).
 
   

Not sure I understand this. If the evidence to convict was not there, they had to return a verdict of "not guilty". I would point out that "not guilty" does not mean "innocent".

I love Halloween and used to get really into it, but it's also the day my dad died, so it's bitter sweet.  I think God took him that day so I would never forget the anniversary.  But, I also really like Thanksgiving too because it's a mini family reunion, from several branches of aunts, uncles, grand parents, cousins.  I just love having everyone together. 

I'm sure you can beat his 1456-1462 yard decoration with your 2016 yard decoration mirkwood.  Just need to add a few 8-foot stakes...
