  1. If your not exalted doesn't that explicitly imply you were not forgiven for something
  2. I went inactive after failing to go on a mission 6 years ago, Now I guess I'd be considered "semi-active", truth is I work 12 hour shifts over the weekend and just have difficulty going to church because of my work. Anyways lots of prayer and study help to get that spiritual fire going. What finally got my wife and I re-activated was our wards missionaries, we asked them to come over and teach us, it really helped me and my wife get back into the swing of things.
  3. Hello, I've been reading these forums for a month or so and have throughly enjoyed them. I work in warehouseing for Target atm and am attending school full time, I'm majoring in Computer Information Systems. Due to that busy schedule I have been struggling to "feast on the word" as much as I should. These forums certainly get the desire to study the things of God kindling! I am a big Open Source Software fan, and I love the outdoors. I used to be an avid video game player but I just don't have the time for it now, between work, family, church and friends it's tough to justify the time sink of it. I was fortunate enough to be born into the church, unfortunately I wasn't able to serve a mission due to my own personal issues (I'll forever regret not going). I got married in LA temple in '07 and have a 2 year old son. We want to have more but my wife was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis shortly after giving birth to our son and has to go off her medication if she wants to have another child, which would put her in a wheelchair for the duration. So we are waiting for the right timing.
  4. True, The details aren't very clear, but based on what is said United States law would classify it as 2nd degree murder. He killed an Egyptian for beating a fellow Hebrew, who was a slave, an emotionally hot reaction. I can't justify a man killing another man for that as being just. There are others who have killed in the scriptures that had and have kept a high standing with God. Particularly Nephi is commanded to kill. The jews are commanded to wage war in sections of the bible resulting in bloodshed. D&C 42:18 seems to be at odds with all of that. I just think more things point to murder as being forgivable, perhaps this verse is referring to a cold blooded murder? btw I'm new here
  5. I wanted to point out that Moses, a great prophet, committed murder, and ran from the local law. I presume he was forgiven.
