  1. Thanks all. My friend also told me that I need to tell the temple matrons that I am on my period and I feel like that is a little to personal (I kind of am like eh why am I telling you all this). But, she says she is telling them that she is on hers but I said I don't want to tell them and if I can't do baptisms then I will stay home and go to the Rexburg temple next month.
  2. Hello everyone, my real question is can a young woman on her period (using a tampon of course) do baptisms? I remember when I was 13 or 14 at the DC temple they gave us papers saying if you were go talk to a temple worker but now they don't give out those papers anymore (it was a one time thing). My friend were just wondering about if you can if you are using a tampon? Thanks all.
  3. I agree. I know some people who are LDS and have tattoos and piercings and I don't know if you have to repent or not. I personally think when you get one you are not going to regret it at first. My friend says you repent of it because your body is a temple. I would think if you are active you will try to follow the counsel of the prophets. I guess this topic is iffy for repentance.
  4. Hello all. I am NOT planning on getting a tattoo, but I do have a real quick question, if you have a tattoo do you have to repent of it? (this is a discussion that is going on my Facebook timeline).
  5. Whoa, that is awesome! It was actually good that I brought 40 names since we only had 6 females and 2 males that came and were proxies.
  6. I'm the only one bringing names:) I'm just going to bring 40 names (20 girls and 20 boys).
  7. I asked her and she said I don't know, bring them all.
  8. Hi I recently did my genealogy and have a lot of names to take the temple. I am going on the Youth Temple Trip tomorrow and was wondering how much names should I take? I was planning to do some more names this fall when I am out at BYU-I.
  9. Has anyone experienced their silver medallion turning yellow? I've had mine for a year now and the back of it is yellow and the front is starting to yellow. Any suggestions on how to make it stop and to get rid of the yellowness? (I've tried jewelry cleaner and toothpaste).
  10. That really is odd. Did the Bishop ask her do you wear tampons or pads? I think it should a preference if you want to wear tampons or a pad or even both. I rather not wear pads because they make me feel like I peed my pants, makes me worry if I'm going to leak, and also I feel like I have a diaper on.
  11. That does suck. Well I have to get stitches because it is 8mm for the skin punch biopsy and since that is the biggest size I have to have stitches. It looks like the group of youth from my ward is going to be weak since a lot of people aren't going.
  12. true and I would think they would clean it out from time to time.
  13. I will:) I'll ask next Wednesday when I go if I am allowed to submerge myself in water on Friday (I won't say I'm doing baptisms for the dead because the doctor or physician assistant may look at me like I'm a nut). And this was a while back when I went to the temple and they gave us papers to read over so we knew the rules. However, they don't give us the directions anymore. You just have to make sure you changed your tampon and won't leak.
  14. I am:) Was just wondering because there probably is people out there who had stitches.
  15. Well sometimes at the temple they say if you have your period even if it is a tampon you may not be able to do it. You talk to the temple workers and they can say yay or nay on if you can do baptisms with a tampon. I was just wondering because I would be submerged under water and don't want my stitches to be messed up.
  16. Thanks. I'll ask my doctor this Wednesday and I may ask to get this ugly mole off my arm too and that should have a scar also. I guess this Wednesday I'll tell my leaders that there is a possibility of me not attending the baptisms for the dead (my grandfather told me if I can't do baptisms than I'm not going) and then next Wednesday when I know for sure than I'll tell them I won't be attending. The youth in my ward hasn't been to the temple for over a year. But, oh well.
  17. Hi everyone. I just came home from the dermatologist. I am supposed to go back next Wednesday to get a procedure done to remove this flat mole on my back and they said I will be getting stitches (and I may ask to get this raised mole on my arm off since it is ugly- they told me to think if I would rather have it or a scar on my arm- I rather have a scar). Then, next Friday I am planning to go on the youth baptismal trip. Should I go or not do the baptisms. I never had stitches so I was just wondering.
  18. I agree, I'm excited and in seminary tomorrow we are having a discussion on this:)
  19. It probably because they were ready to be married and were ready to marry that person. I was just saying I have a lot of growing up and learning before I get married because there is a lot of stuff I don't know.
  20. I don't think I could see myself married in 2-3 years, unless I do a lot of growing up and a lot of learning.
  21. I think it depends on the person. Like when I was 13 I remember telling people I will serve a mission and wanted to get married around 25. Then 14 or 15 years old I was thinking oh I rather get married at 20 or 21. Now at 16, a month away from being 17, I rather go on a mission and come home then get married around 21-25. I rather grow spiritually and emotionally and I think that is needed for me. Plus, with me wanting to serve it may make my marriage stronger, I don't know. It all depends on my freshman year of college next year. But, I know I am doing 2 semesters next year and then taking my fall sophomore semester off because I would enter the mtc around that time. :) Another thing is I would like to travel a bit too:)
  22. So far for me I really am noticing the theme of missionaries and missionary work and really feeling the spirit about it. I also have been praying if I should serve a mission. I think it is a sign for me:) Now what about you all?
  23. I am a convert of 4 years (Oct 18 will make 4 yrs) and a lot of people think I actually was born in the church because I have a strong testimony and pick things up quick, so I know I will be ready at 19 to serve, if I choose to. However, I am sure I will. I don't have money for school so I am hoping to get financial aid for that. Then I usually work once a week for 5 hrs and get paid $40 and I could put some into the ward missionary fund or save half of that and then go work part time when I am at college next year. I know my bishop would help any of us in my ward who needs help.
