  1. I am in a new college singles' ward and we all got brand new Visiting Teaching assignments. I don't think my VT companion is very enthusiastic about visiting teaching. When I called her asking when she was available she hung up on me. I figured she might have been too busy with work at the time, so I emailed her instead. She hasn't emailed me back. It's almost the end of the month and we still haven't visited our 2 girls. What should I do?
  2. So I have a question that relates to this: Are we only going to be greeted by our family and ancestors? Or is it possible that we could be greeted by other people as well?
  3. who's Jason? sorry. I'm new.
  4. I know that if it weren't for my church, I'd be a Catholic, because my parents were Catholics before they converted. I don't know much about other churches. The Baptists are all really nice and friendly, and they have those big Christian concerts, and those seem pretty exciting. Then I like the Catholic church because of it's history and the vastness and grandness of the churches. The Anglican church for the same reason. Hinduism is cool because it's part of the Indian culture, and they have neat traditions. They also don't eat meat. I eat meat, but if I were forced not to I wouldn't mind. It's kind of like not drinking anything with caffeine, not smokingm and not drinking. I've known it my whole life, never had a problem with it, and if it's good for my health, why not?
  5. well, I lick popsicles, lolipops, ice cream cones... j/k. I couldn't help myself. I'm a girl, so I think I can answer your question. I like guys who have lots of integrity, are respectful, have a good senses of humour, are humble, not cocky and self-centered, are good listeners, willing to voice their feelings, have an original sense of style, they have to like the same music as me, intelligent for the most part, and they put the Lord first.
  6. Hey! Welcome! I'm glad you're interested in the church. You're at the perfect place. I'm new to this forum, too btw.
  7. I just want to remind you guys that this was on a different forum. I'm not sure if anyone missed that. Thanks for the comments!
  8. Ok, so I'm a member of this other random forum and I started a topic asking if anyone there was LDS. There were a few people that came on and started arguing with me, telling me my religion was bad and corrupt, and another person started putting down the missionaries. That's just how it started. It branched off to other topic, and we were just going back and forth and it went nowhere. And it lasted wuite a few days. The biggest reason for my sharing this with you all is that You guys would understand, and at the other forum, I was the only one. Mostly everyone else was against me, because they just can't see our church the way we do. But also, I wanted to know what you guys think about debating religion. Do you ever get into those type of situations? What do you think is the right way to handle it. For me, I found that it became a competition of pride and just being right. After thinking about it, I realized that I needed to talk to these people with a more softened heart, and more love (you know, love your enemies, etc etc), and that I needed to pray for help. I did and eventually I decided that the answer was to end it. I couldn't help but to make it a competition of pride, and I didn't want people to see me, and therefore, since I was the only LDS one there, our church, in that way.
