Yes....there was something really special about it.
But, I have never felt as close to the family of God as I do as a Latter-Day Saint

I was very, very Catholic.  I was a Eucharistic Minister, a Lector, and a 4th Degree Knight.
    And now, I am LDS.
I sometimes miss the tradition and solemnity of the Catholic Church, but being LDS is the right thing....and it is amazing.

In essence, yes. And this "scheme" was a win-win — it was designed by Father.
AntiSocial inSecurity, on the other hand, may not have been the first, but it is certainly among the most abominable Ponzi schemes. It's legal, but it's morality is non-existent: another lose-lose.

Hate to break it to you, but divorce is just putting on paper what your "husband" has already done; you don't have a marriage anymore.
If this had happened for a couple months after some significant event, that would be one thing, but he's been using you for over a year now.  You're not a wife; just a sugar mama.

well, don´t the media always manipulate public opinion in the US ? I mean after all, some people may not have realized that there has been other candidates for presidency from other parties that were not democrats or republicans.
And I agree with you LaSellers, This whole media campaign is neither fair nor partial. Not supporting any of those two but the democrats sure fight dirty and underhanded. Your political systems needs an overhaul as much as does mine.
By the way, I liked what Clint Eastwood said about people being tired about being political correct. PC is a festering cancer that promotes injustice and lying.

Hemisphere reacted to Average Joe in Emergency Preparedness for Economic Crisises
Several weeks ago I was called as our Stakes Emergency Preparedness Specialist and in the discussion about what was expected of me I asked what the stake leadership felt our greatest challenge was. I then heard the usual litany of disasters - last summers great flood in S.C., winter ice storms, tornado season was coming up, etc...etc...

After listening politely I asked if they were ready for an economic crisis. While acknowledging the possibility the conversation soon shifted back to chainsaws and mud outs.

That was early in December. Now that the New Year has arrived there has been an almost daily drop in oil prices and drop in the stock markets.

Tomorrow I'll meet with the stake leadership to discuss emergency preparedness  and I'll ask again if they're preparing for an economic crisis or just natural disasters.

I hope for a more substantive discussion of the economic issue...we'll see.

I just wondered if any other Stakes/Wards have been discussing getting our financial houses in order?

Well Portland is quite the place as the city is web friendly ( big computer corporations have their seat there as well) and the city is quite innovative and advanced.

Hemisphere reacted to Ironhold in Reccomend me a good Manga!
Another thing to consider is that following any given manga series can potentially be quite expensive. It's rather common for titles to get 15+ volumes, and some long-runners (like Naruto and One Piece) are on track to hit the hundreds. MSRP for most volumes of manga is $10 - $15 US, so we could easily be talking hundreds or even thousands of dollars just for one title.
Additionally, it does sometimes happen that the manga are simply part of a larger multi-media experience. For example, the .Hack franchise covers not just manga, but also anime, novels, and video games (although one installment of the anime, .Hack//Legend, was later thrown down the memory hole because the creative team went off on their own instead of following the established franchise script). You can get a good idea of what's going on by following one path, but since they're meant to tie into each other you miss out on things if you don't at least have an idea of what happened in the other titles.

For many of us, they're simply not there; looking around Sacrament Meeting last Sunday, there were no single women at all between 18-65.  same situation at every ward/branch within 30 miles in any direction.

Try being white but not looking it for a good part of the year.  I've actually had to unbutton my shirt and show the CBP agent my pasty white chest when passing through a checkpoint coming back from the Rio Grande Valley.
Oddly, there's nothing in my lineage (French, northern Italian, Irish) that would explain why I tan as dark as many full-blood Mexicans, but it happens.  My granddad could pass for native in Mexico until he tried to speak Spanish...or went in the middle of winter when we're pasty white all over.

Who has shown this hypothetical drug to "be safe"?
The US FDA is bought and paid for by the the drug companies, and is more highly political than most bureaucracies (because there is so much money at stake). The revolving door between the pharmaceutical companies and the FDA could be used to cool Satan's waiting room. The concept of "regulatory capture" is alive and well in the FDA.
Please note that (although they're not "vaccines", they were proclaimed to "be safe") Phen-Fen and many other drugs killed people, made them irreversibly ill, or harmed them in any number of other ways.
Were there such a place, I'd prefer the equivalent of UL® or Good Houskeeping in the medical world: they have something to lose when they put their seals on any product, and they don't take industry money in any form, quite unlike the FDA.
So, the answer to your question is there's an unlimited downside.

Have you never seen those commercials?  (Take your pick on whether I mean the drug commercials, which feature a big long list of side-effects that will kill you - you just won't die from what the drug treats; or whether I mean the "1-800-bad-drug" commercials.)
There ain't no way you're getting me to take a drug I don't absolutely have to.

HPV vaccine is a no for me.

My boys go to a holistic md and she prefers to guard against cancer through nutrition and lifestyle rather than vaccination.  I agree with her completely.

4 years ago when I discussed it with the kids' pediatrician, the percentage of population getting adverse effects from Gardisil was higher than the percentage of population getting cancer and it only prevented 2 strains of the virus out of the 15 identified.

The same pediatrician recommends the flu shot yearly.  We don't do flu shots either.

Let's see, I'll make a list of criteria (not in order of importance - more in order of most-recently-emphasized):
    1) Not a corner lot.
    2) Not in a cul-de-sac so small the garbage truck can't get in (so I'd have to haul my garbage cans out)
    3) Someplace that's not humid (I hate humidity)
    4) Someplace where I can carry a gun if I want to
    5) Someplace without property tax or income tax (both are of the devil)
    6) Someplace near a temple
    7) Someplace that's not too hot, and not too cold.
    8) If it snows, the house and driveway have to face south
    9) Someplace with a really good ward (if you're looking for a place to move, I'll find you listings - seriously, you will not find a better ward, and I think it would be *fabulous* to have you here)
    10) If I had pets, it would have to be someplace where they don't have fleas (I only know one such place)
    11) July and August cannot be to hot.  The winter must be forbidden til December, and exit March the second, on the dot.  Summer must linger through September.  The rain may never fall til after sundown, by 8 the morning fog must disappear.  The snow may never slush upon the hillsides, and by 9pm the moonlight must appear.
Huh.  Just as I feared.  It appears Camelot is the only place that will do.

I don´t know you and you don´t me, so I hope your conjecture may be subject to trial and error. I am a very content person with a happy marriage and a good deal of experience that were dearly obtained in a world that seems to be star spangled awesome because apparently the people have no claim to negative experiences that couldn´t possibly happen in the US and especially in Utah, our beacon of faith...
You know, people can be happy AND cynical at the same time. So whatever else you may think of me, you are way off =) oh and let me add that your pittance is simply belittling someone who has a different experience than you have. Would you like me to scorn you because ... in a sense I should "angry" that you have an unjaded view ? I think not. Have an opinion of your own. That is somewhat of an achievement that some never manage. And I am glad for it that some say as they like.
So... please carry on having interesting ideas about my life

you are absolutely right. however, if I had to make the hard choice, I would have chosen a happy marriage outside the church ( with the lotteries chance of conversion, but still a chance)  over a miserable quest for love in the church where one would never be good enough. So, you tell me would you really miss out on someone that makes you happy if he / she makes you happy ?

You know i love the fact that this topic is an evergreen and that your kind of comment implies that it is wrong to express opinions and experiences and therefore wishing to discourage the chance  and ambition that common sense might settle through reflection of what can be done better and where is the root source. But since we are here, what is your "politicaly correct "way discussing this, since experiences and the exchange of thereof is so unsavory?

of course they will. but at least those pretenses about being enlightend and chosen people of the Lord are out of way along with those hidden play rules. Outside the church you expect much worse from people there enabling a mutual ground that asks to be wary. I for one, simply would have resolved to date outside the church if it weren´t for my wife because I would have been what I am not what I am not, such not being biships daddy boy or the idiot convert that repented to late with 27 and could and never will be an rm. doesn´t matter outside the church and in that case, the perils of encountering jerks are more obvious and easier and the rules are more visible and people look results instead of playing hard to get.
