  2. It just means that the papers been approved as complete (your stuff is all there; they didn't find any problems which they need to consult you about), and now it's just in a queue, waiting for an apostle to assign it. :-)
  3. Friedmann is right--the passport won't make a big deal. While you're looking to scan your drivers licence, you probably want to have you health insurance card handy as well. They'll also need your immunization records and a photo of you dressed in proper missionary attire (with everything digital these days, you probably won't have to scan it into the system, but if it's not digital, you'll have to scan this in as well).
