  1. My wife supports All enlisted. She does not support women being ordained to the priesthood. Many of her friends that support All Enlisted do not support women being ordained. I would think that one would want to educate themselves on an organizations goals before making a blanket statement about that organization.
  2. Just need to say this a very well thought out answer. Fantastic.
  3. I think you may be a bit misinformed. The group that sponsored the wear pants to church event (all enlisted) and the group protesting and trying to gain acceptance into the priesthood session (ordain women) are two different groups. Just because Ordain Women adopted the use of the color purple for their cause does not mean that All enlisted holds the same beliefs as Ordain Women. These are two very different issues. Wearing pants to church is a cultural issue. Ordaining women to the priesthood (at least during their second estate) is a doctrinal issue.
  4. May take on this is this is the Lord's church but, It is run by finite vessels. It is a wonder and wonderful what the Lord does through these finite vessels. If an accuser wants to magnify one quote someone may or may not have said in a large body of work by said person that is their right but, that accuser should remember their own faults and sins and cleanse themselves before pointing out others mistakes.
  5. So, I will share one I have had without being too specific. My wife and I attended the temple yesterday with some new converts so they could experience doing confirmations and baptisms. while I was performing an ordinance with one of the brothers that were there for the first time I received an overwhelming feeling of the Lord's love for him. I felt compelled to share this with him so, I did and he was glad to hear it.
  6. I would just echo the advice to seek professional help. People very close to me have suffered severe abuse and it is so difficult to recover from. Your bravery in facing this head on is inspiring.
  7. My advice would be to pray and ask the Lord who should baptize you. This could be a faith increasing experience. Remember the more dependent you are upon the savior the more independent you will actually be.
  8. I don't have anything to offer other then what others have posted except for my prayers and the observation that I have seen some severely damaged marriages repaired through some dedicated work with a counselor and the atonement of Christ.
  9. A good priesthood leader would direct an abuse victim to someone trained to deal with abuse not "Help" them decide how much they are to blame.
  10. The best way I have heard faith described is as follows. Belief is the building materials used in building the temple. Faith is the craftsmanship used to build the temple
  11. I think the majority of us here have a perspective on trials that helps to lessen the blow, but the blow is still there and sometimes it hurts being human. I wish you and yours the best that is possible in this tough time.
  12. Mine would be a meat smoke though I don't eat meat.............Go figure.
  13. My response to this is if someone is going to take something a poster on site says as doctrine and not do the work needed to seek the truth then that person is probably going to go through mortality confused about doctrine no matter what. They have their agency and can be spiritually lazy if the choose.
  14. I believe there was one in the 40s as well that the Cardinals beat the Sox. I remember my grandfather cursing Bob Gibson because of what he did to the Sox in that series.
