    Rats!

I think I have a mouse We have put some humane traps down, but similarly don't want anything else because of my puppy. Thinking of getting a cat... don't really know what else.
  2. I've always felt it's good to know what is 'out there' about the church. Yes, it's mocking and may try to belittle - but I'd rather know about it, so that I can then talk to people about what the true church is actually about. Though, completely understand why some would have no interest in seeing it.
  3. I was able to dry my hair and get some makeup back on and get back into chapel before the elder who baptised me had even changed! You will have some time, as people go back to the chapel to watch short mormon messages until you're ready.
  4. It annoys me too when someone sends out repetitive emails. I agree with the others. You could kindly explain that having these emails being sent several times isn't working for you and you'd appreciate less.
  5. I have an issue in that I get so nervous saying prayers out loud. My missionaries always asked me to, but I would suddenly go blank and get too nervous to do it. I know that eventually I will just need to get up and do it - and it won't be anywhere as bad as I imagine it. When I pray silently, I almost always end up rambling and going off on tangents, that I don't want to do in front of other people. Any tips?

    Callings

So, the Bishop wants to meet with me to tok about callings and how at some point I will be called. I'm getting nervous! I don't have much confidence standing up talking in front of people I don't know too well and am worried that I will be called to teach etc and just not be able to do a good job and will make a really bad impression. I know that some people are called earlier than others, so I might not be called for a while yet - but, still it could happen. How bad is it to decline a calling? Should I just fight through anxieties and try whatever I am called to do? The annoying this is that I know I would be good at these things, it is just that my confidence isn't always very strong.
  7. Haruki Murakami. He has such imagination it's amazing!
  8. My confirmation was this morning. It was just an amazing experience. Everyone in the circle means so much to me and have helped get me to where I am today. So happy and smiley!
  9. Thanks! Yeah, I found myself writing a lot of things down this morning! It's been a great day - I'm very happy. :)
  10. It was an awesome day! I woke up really early as I was so excited. Everyone was so good today and the Elders out in so much effort - I am truly grateful to them. Confirmation tomorrow! I feel forgiven! All the feelings I had before, have all gone - such a strange feeling, but so incredible!!
  11. They will provide you with a white jumpsuit - you just need to have something white to wear underneath. Th service starts with a prayer and then a couple of people speaking on baptism and the Holy Ghost. You choose who speaks for these and also choose the hymns. Then you have the baptism!! You can choose who performs the baptism. After that, when you have changed, you have the opportunity to share your testimony if you wanted to. There will be another hymn and then the bishop will say a few words before closing prayer. It's all very exciting!!! I'm getting baptised this weekend!!
  12. I knew I wanted one of the Elders, but I couldn't decide who. I wish they both could have been there, but I asked the other Elder to say opening prayer and they were both very involved.
  13. I felt similarly when I first started going to church. I remember saying to my missionaries that I didn't have anything to wear. I'm not a dress person and usually am pretty scruffy and have an alternative style. The ideas I had about what the church expected made me void going for so long. I never used to think dressing nicely for church made a difference either. But - I have been so surprised at how relaxed people are at church. Some girls wear trousers or even jeans - no one looks at them oddly or seems to say anything. At the end of the day, what you wear is not why you go to church.
