  1. I am just waiting for the day when he googles LDS and finds out his son is a Mormon. I guess he does not know they are one in the same. I am also then waiting for him to go on the internet and find the cultwatch article about us. Has anyone read that? It is insane the leaps and bounds they go through to make us sound crazier than... I can't think of an unoffensive noun.
  2. Elder Price is from the Musical Book of Mormon. Quite like my name. My name stands for Book of Mormon is Return of the Jedi. It's a line from the musical. Anyway welcome elder price!
  3. So I got backed into a corner when my father asked where I had been today (Christmas party). I said I was going to an LDS church Here is along the lines of what he said "Be careful of cults, but at least you are not a Mormon, those guys don't even believe in the same god we do. If you were that crazy Jehovah witness or Mormon I'd disown you (and he laughed)" I have no idea what to do. There is a reason I didn't plan on telling him, but he backed me into a corner. It would be great if I didn't have to half depend on him financially. Any suggestion on how to proceed?
  4. I assume this as probably been asked already, but brothers and sisters what is your favorite poem? Mine would have to be Charge of the Light Brigade by Lord Alfred Tennyson. I am not quite sure why this is my favorite poem. I guess knowing the history behind it just reminds me of how a loss of men is tragic, but even in this tragedy something can be won, and the war is not over with a battle loss. There are deeper meanings to this but I could write a book about it and it's implications. Here is an audio reading of the poem. So like I asked, what is your favorite poem and why?
  5. Hi mia! Are you a recent convert or born into the faith? Anyway glad you found us, I am glad I did.
  6. Welcome, although I have not experienced addiction at that level, I can relate. I guess you could call me an alcoholic. Anyway welcome!
  7. Hey there! I was just recently baptized on the 7th! Glad to see another person joining the family! I'm sure the rest of your family will join us. I still have to do some genealogy work on my part, but that will get done in time. Also don't worry, everything happens when god wants it to. I think we all can't wait till we can call you sister.
  8. I never really had habits when it came to smoking other than the smoking part. I just smoked when ever I felt like it.
  9. Again the point of the vapor device would be to every time I can't control the urge to then use that to elevate it and every time slowly turn down the percent of nicotine in the device until it has no nicotine and is just the e-juice. Either way I am to broke to afford anything at the moment so this is just a future thought anyway.
  10. I am going to be picking up one of those vapor devices to get myself off nicotine all together. It will satisfy the oral fixation issue, and will also slowly get me off nicotine if I just lower the dosage over a few months week by week to virtually nothing after a few months. It shouldn't take to long though, it seems that after my baptism and confirmation my very huge urge to smoke has pretty well dissipated. I know members of the church are torn on vapor devices, but here is how I see it. If caffeine isn't the reason we don't allow hot drinks, then the nicotine is not the reason we don't allow tobacco. If done correctly these devices can be used to completely remove any addiction to tobacco products. I find it interesting how when I went from smoking cigs to an e-cig sometime ago I still had the urge to smoke a cig. That goes to show you it isn't the nicotine that is the dominant addicting chemical when it comes to recidivism, for lack of a better word, when it comes to quitting smoking.
  11. Hi, I am a recent convert (was baptized yesterday, confirmed today) and I figured now that I am, I might as well join this forums eh? I was found on the street, so good job missionaries. Anyway the one thing I do need to work on is stopping the urge to violate the WoW. I used to smoke and drink a lot before my conversion, so I picked up some bad habits.
