  1. Same way JDBentz, I have a form of Ausbergers and it seems most girls I encounter think I am stupid or downright "retarded"...I tried dating a girl once but she kept blowing me off every time I tried to take her somewhere, and the fact that I am really shy doesn't help the traditional fact that I have to sometimes feel "stupid" when trying to have a conversation with the opposite gender. By now I am 21 and haven't been on a date either, which is somewhat ironic seeing how romantic people think I am.
  2. I find that a bit stange, and I rather just have it more of a "shared" story than a big chunky book. Also an update that I am about 3 pages into the story :)
  3. Joined, I have some experience in animation as for knowing some flash skills and writing, etc.
  4. I thought of a lame joke just now and I decided it might be worth telling. So a pregnant woman has been LABOR for the past couple of days but right when the time hits midnight on sunday she goes out of Labor. The doctor wonders if it was just a false alarm but the husband goes "Even babies in the womb and Pregnant Women don't LABOR on the Sabbath".
  5. Well, I think the story can be read by people who aren't LDS. Just depends if they find a story about being married forever cheesy.
  6. Recently I have had the urge to write a book recently but I am unsure as an LDS what kind of resources I have if the book were to be published in the future. Right now the only thing I have down for it is a love story about marriage with more or less some japanese influences. I am just hesitant if there is a market for such a story.
  7. Well, the stuff I want to do in a story is quite impossible in live action. Unless Frankly you got a million/billion dollar budget like Narnia or Transformers
  8. I am looking for tips on how I can improve upon making friends. I am not all that social and prefer to keep to myself and it seems that is the greatest one-way ticket to nowheresville. I was occasionally attending a YSA ward but nothing really clicked for me since nobody seemed to notice me all that much but I plan on going again to give it another shot. Probably my biggest problem is crossing path with girls. It seems everytime I do I end up with plenty of problems seeing how I can't even think of one thing to say to her without fear of sounding like a total idiot. I tried dating once but the girl kept blowing me off and I just gave up at that point. Til now I haven't been on a single date ever due to the fear of being crushed by rejection. My parents say I should still try my hardest even though nothing has improved since then because I just end up prefering talking to people on MSN and Skype because of the lack of being able to judge me. So I guess I should ask if anyone here has any concrete advice for me because I feel I am in the biggest pickle of my life now
  9. Scripture bugs is an LDS-themed CG cartoon series, but the animation quality is pretty average IMO. Still plan on taking an animation course in Japan.
  10. YouTube - Now and Forever Opening Credits {Pebble and the Penguin}
  11. Well, haven't posted here in awhile. Been messing more with flash and I might actually get bored enough to try to make a short flash cartoon. If anyone can picture a Book of mormon story or anything that can last 5-10 minutes in Flash maybe you should PM me.
  12. Thanks for the advice everyone, I now feel a bit silly about the whole thing. I mean even if I did date before now it wouldn't be 'til I was 21(which is this month) that it would "count" anyway. The real thing to do is start being more active in church before I try to do anything dratic.
  13. Okay I'll try to put this in perspective.... I'm 20 years old and gonna be like 21 in a month. Have been in wards with cute girls but none of them seem interested...now a YSA that goes to a YSA ward when I feel up to it...and never...ever...have been on a date. There was a time when I was 16+ that I asked out a girl, but she just rejected me, and after that moved to a church that the girls were either too young or too old for me. And now I go to a YSA that I've gone to but now in a limbo mode of being afraid of being either ultimately rejected again. Very sad that many of my friends either are married now, have bf/gf, or at least DATED! And I have done or have neither....am I just in a situation of EPIC FAIL?
  14. Look at it this way....it's a choice and a blessing....you choose to marry and get sealed with someone wonderful which is the blessing part. The choice comes first..then the blessing if they are indeed your eternal companion. Some People think romantics are superficial...but why would those who like romance want it any other way? and always date the person for a good amount of time....no sense rushing or diving into it head first.
  15. If people got excommunicated for inactivity I think a good fraction of our members would go down the drain. So I am guessing the closest thing is he knows something or they have been inactive since the day they got baptized or something drastic like that....but who knows
  16. Welcome, it's nice to know that non-LDS appreciate us. I am guessing that's the Star Trek TOS episode when they pretend to be mobsters on that mafia planet...my parents are Star Trek nerds just to let you know.
  17. I kind of learned something like this Go to YSA to meet friends, through friends find a date...and date to marry! To some people it's rinse and repeat from there.
  18. I am going to try to be on both sides of the fence here. I have a really bad problem with what I want my eternal companion to look like..to the point of eliminating a good part of the world we live on. That may be superficial to some, but I want a girl who I can look at all day and never get bored of it. To some who said earlier postings that people are just stupid if they "Critique even facial features"....I am one of those people. I remember living next to another LDS family who had plenty of girls, and the last time I saw them...it wasn't their body or anything...but they had nice personalities...and their faces and hair being pretty was the main thing. Sure I would like someone with a fit body, but if they have knock-out eyes and pretty hair and a good sense of humor....their other body parts doesn't matter at that point in time What I am trying to say is...you should enjoy looking at them AND being with them!
  19. Yes 3D is done alot more...to the point of being OVERDONE in my opinion. Sure...just have the computer animate something for ya...instead of learning some real drawing talent and do some real work. I remember when 3D was actually GOOD, but now there is a lot of BAD 3D. If you're just gonna go with the flow and make something cruddy...I could care less about your product or anything similar to it. 2D animation on the other hand is also being done, but because it cost more now because of lazyness you get things like kim possible where you can see the increasing lack of good drawing skills. At least when the japanese and koreans do 2d...it can be something to be reckoned with. Comparing something like this (older japanese style) http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/2257/esmoon2020ssailors201024x768of1.jpg to something like this (newer american style...) http://itelling.com/erinvskim/kim_possible_mission_outfit.jpg I would go with number one ANYDAY!
  20. If you mean what kind of style I want to use in my animations...here's a style I like. YouTube - Sailor Moon Episode 1 part 2 English dub
  21. If you mean myself...not really...I have some animation skills with flash but real animation skill I lack horribly...and it also doesn't help that there isn't any good animation programs in the US...that is if you don't count those overrated 3D animation programs....BYU has one but they focus mainly on Pixar/Dreamworks stuff....which I could live without 3D seeing how there's so much of it it's practically "a dime a dozen". So if I have to I'll stick to my art program and transfer somewhere that has some kind of 2D animation course and a japanese language program...and all goes well...I am gonna go ahead and go into a full-fledged japanese-animation program in Japan. Korea and Japan are the hot spots for quality animation now...and you can tell that by comparing stuff like Sailor Moon with something like...Kim Possible >_<
  22. Hello again, I haven't been on this site in awhile but I am interested in getting into some of the discussions again. A bit about me; I like animation and I prefer japanese-style animation, and for those who find that stuff overly violent and such...I tend to stay away from those animes. I also hope someday I can produce my own LDS/Christian-based anime because there has been a real lack of christian/LDS animation recently. I also also a YSA... so yeah.
