  1. Agreed, it's amazing how when someone gets me to talk that people think I am a pretty cool person...it's interesting.
  2. I am interested in making japanese-style LDS animation. I have even decided to write my first LDS-anime pilot and thinking of other script possibilities...and maybe base my next one off Sailor Moon(My other script is based off of Gundam) I also been researching the cost of having the actual animation and other art requirements done overseas(Korea for example). I already know a good resource of finding voice talent so I don't have to worry about that too much. I just wish I had the money to actually get a production started. There's just so much live action movies that I feel the need to breathe some new animation into the LDS film market if not the christian market as a whole.
  3. I have somewhat overcome my shyness over the years, but now it's more a matter of interest and that person's interest. Like I can have a discussion with someone if it interests me, but if it's something boring and I have nothing to say about it...why talk?
  4. Hello, it seems at the moment that LDS movie productions have disappeared for now. The only LDS movies I know to have 3D VFX are "The Testaments" and "The Book of Mormon Movie" which one was made by the church and pretty sure that was a one-time gig and the TBOMM never seemed to get past their first "volume". The only LDS producer that seems to be doing production still is the LIKEN guys which their produces are just "recorded plays". If anything it seems if you want be a sure-fire part of an LDS production...you got to make the call and start the project yourself...With me my dream is to make LDS-themed animation, but seeing how the only thing like that is the overpriced Living Scriptures videos...I just plan on producing my own at some point...maybe you should try to research what potential you as a 3D VFX artist can get going....it's your best bet.
  5. Hello, I want some LDS opinion on this. So I am like...20 and if I remember correctly the prefered minimal LDS dating age was what...16? Though in-between these 4 years I have yet to land a single date with a girl, LDS or non-LDS either way. I know many people told me "the time will come" but I don't want to like some old gramps person by the time that happens. I mean all the LDS friends I have had since then had either gotten married or have been on numerous dates. I just want to know why I've been avoided or just been "collecting dust" these 4 years. I've tried to make contact with LDS girls that I liked and when I told them that I liked them even though we spent time around the same friends and stuff they just blew me off and thought I was a weirdo. I don't see what so weird about me, I mean I am a bit shy but I don't see how that makes me weird. Some people just think I just been running into fickle girls but I am a bit surprised since all the girls I've tried to get them to notice me seem to go under this "fickle" category. I just wish I could have hope for the better.
  6. What really bugs me is how dark the movie is. There wasn't any point of comedy relief, it just went to depressing to ultimate depressing.
  7. "Now and Forever" from Barry Manilow
  8. Has anyone notice that many of the LDS films nowadays aren't Animated? I know I've made this arguement before, but I think we should have an opinion that at least I BELIEVE LDS filmmakers shouldn't have just stopped when The Living Scriptures series was done being created. I mean people STILL buy and watch TLS cartoons, so there IS an animation market here in our LDS community. I mean, what's the hold up? Scripture Bugs might have gotten off to a bad start, but it was at least SOMETHING ya know? With everyone doing animated films nowadays, I think someone or a film company that has the time and money should at least try.
  9. I have thought about seeing The Testament how it would look on blu-ray, that would just be something else. I mean the message was so powerful, but HD powerful? I think it would be hard to deny that movie then.
  10. In My Opinion: Best thing since people started using DVDs to their full potential, and with that Blu-Rays are so, so much better that DVDs. My dad bought The Robe on Blu-Ray recently and that movie looked AWESOME even though it was a WAY older movie. There is just something about Blu-Ray that can make practically anything come to life. Also have some disney movies on blu-ray and the characters just seem to pop-out. Like people think they need 3D glasses but Blu-Ray makes characters seem 3D by itself. I would love it if HaleStorm or other moderate-budget LDS Filmmakers give Blu-Ray a try-out.
  11. Yeah it does, it's just an ad to get you to join kind of thing. Thanks for participating! I hope you other guys do it too!
  12. Well, not much too me. I like video games, watching cartoons or animated films(some anime here and there), and my strongest points are writing(I've actually written an animation script, though it's probably amatuer quality), and making people laugh(it kind of comes naturally). Here's my specs: I'm 19 I'm about a few pounds overweight. Not really much of an "in-person" interactivist, it takes me awhile for people to grow on me but after that I can talk as much as the next guy. Also I am stuck at a college that has very little interest to me.
  13. Hey guys I am running an "LDS Animation" survey because I am collecting data for people who might be interested in animation or making an animated series or film, this survey is strictly 2D animation since while 2D animation has multiple influences and styles to me 3D films don't really differentiate between each other. Here's the link: Survey provided by FreeOnlineSurveys.com Notes: You must answer all the questions There are picture references to help you visualize There are 20 questions, most of them are related to either animation or LDS films in general. (P.S. if you know anyone who would like to take it with or besides you. Please let them know!)
  14. Well, yeah. I just wanted your guys opinion on something, something my siblings seem to find messed up. Ok I like a certain type of girl, and that mostly involves them being..."asian". Yeah my sister hates me since I guess a bunch of people at BYU said they want to marry an asian girl right when other american girls were around, which tbh I wouldn't say that in public. So now my sister and others think it's rude to think a certain kind of girl is better than them, which make sense but some american girls just don't interest me all that much. So should I have this sense of duty to marry only americans, or why can't I can't I just live like the person I am who finds asians attractive, and cool, and even heart-lifting, both asians my gender and the opposite. So do you think it's wrong to think this way?
  15. LDS Animation Survey I am doing a survey on LDS members who like animation, if you want to participate just use the information in the link, Thanks!
  16. Yeah, I guess 2 years ago I joined this forum so I am trying to check this place out again. I am LDS, and I love animation and video games. And to those who believe that bogus BYU study, video games really help me with stress and stuff, and as long as you stay away from anything M or similar it's just the same as moderating movie watching.
