There is only one God to us. That is our father in heaven. Someone put it in prettier words than myself, but I paraphrased something. Our father will always be that to us.
Intelligence can be neither created or made. Thus Eternal.
If God, [and us technically] have always been around we don't need to worry about the chicken and egg idea, because it simply becomes one of progression.
Less like chickens and more like rock becomes sand, sand becomes sand stone, sand stone transforms into various metamorphic rocks.... etc... (Not that this comparison per say is doctrinal)

You beat me to it! I just found the info graphic.
I'm convinced, the change to allowing girls wasn't the final line...it was in the works far before that.

I have an iPhone and use Siri.  My wife has a Samsung and uses whatever abomination AI they use (I think the name is Bixby or something.)
I have Siri set to a male voice, she has Bixby set to a female voice.
Once, we were driving somewhere, and both of us asked our individual phones for directions.  The two AI's went about it in different ways, telling us what to do at different times.  Then came the time when they did not agree on the directions.  One said turn, the other said go straight.  The tension between the two phones was almost palpable.  You could cut it with a knife.  I followed my wife's female-voiced phone's directions, because I am a good husband and did not want to escalate things into a regrettable incident.   To Siri's credit, you had to listen real hard to hear the hurt in his voice as he adjusted his directions after I refused them.  Dude's got my back, and didn't want to make things hard between us.  I think he started offering fewer directions for the rest of that trip too, but perhaps I'm anthropomorphizing a tad.
It was a singular experience.  Like my wife and I had hired someone to do some marital arguing for us.  A bit awkward, but not unpleasant at all.

Just to round this out, it looks like the announcement was made last week. The new system has segregated troops. I haven't seen anything about summer camp though.

Fair enough. There isn't a one size fits all approach to teaching the Gospel that's for sure. But these days, especially in the caustic, secular enviroment kids are growing up in now, they need a lot more instruction in the Armor of God. There should still be some fun, physical activities, but the Gospel instruction should have primacy of place in my opinion.

You are correct, more or less, and I didn't mean Scouting never had any gospel related strengths in it's heyday. But, I'm not really an outdoorsy type of person, and I'm not a big camper. That's about 90% of what Scouting was where I was attending, and I would rather have used that time to focus on Priesthood instruction and Mission prep. I'm sure that was not the case in every troop, but that was my experience and I just couldn't get into it.

My understanding of the Boy Scout program is that it easily involves the gospel, and according to their bylaws requires religious participation. The scouting program teaching general principles and encourages each chartering organization to provide the religious support. The program method is more expansive than just camping. It's bad implementation that causes it to not be gospel related.

Please explain what you mean by this. On one hand you seem to view other Christians in a positive way but at the end you invalidate that positive view with the word "crap".

I think we will see a surge the next 12 months and then a transition phase the last few months of next year.
If your scouting program is about churning out advancements and eagles it may flounder some.  If it's about building boys, then it really doesn't matter if the boys get badges or not.

SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Tuesday night, that in 2019, it will end the long standing relationship with the Boy Scouts of America, in favor of a new church produced activity program, that will involve both boys and girls, ages 8 to 18.
The announcement was made in a joint statement by the LDS Church and the BSA, which reads, in part:
"We have jointly determined that, effective on December 31, 2019, the Church will conclude its relationship as a chartered organization with all Scouting programs around the world. Until that date, to allow for an orderly transition, the intention of the Church is to remain a fully engaged partner in Scouting for boys and young men ages 8–13 and encourages all youth, families, and leaders to continue their active participation and financial support."

Originally it was only going to be for the older group but they have decided to completely break ties with the BSA for all ages.

They are also doing away with the Personal Progress program for Young Women in favor of another program that will include both the girls and the boys.

I am encouraged by this news, although it has been a long time coming.   That said, the church darn well better come up with a better name than "Children and Youth Development Initiative".  And it darn well better have a cooler website than https://www.lds.org/youth/childrenandyouth.
I'm relatively certain the prophet reads mormonhub regularly, to get ideas for major policy decisions.  Therefore, I'd like to make a few suggestions for a name.  Feel free to add your own.

    Thoughts?

As far as I know the Church has never had a relationship with the Girl Scouts. You were not required to join the Boy Scouts as a young man, but a lot of Young Men's activities were combined with Scouting. So if you weren't interested in Scouting (like me, I tried to get into it, but it just never clicked with me) it meant a lot of your Young Men's meetings just weren't that interesting. I would have much preferred a more Gospel related program as a young man, so I am glad the Church is rolling one out to replace Scouting.

Not surprised after the introduction of girls into boy scouts...and of course the meeting the scouts had that was scheduled during conflicting time for church leaders.
I am excited to see the new program. I hope there is still ample opportunities for the youth to be exposed to people of differing beliefs to foster good will with others. A strong emphasis for service in the community would accomplish this. Hopefully it will accomplish what masonry, and later boy scouting provided for a sense of unity and brotherhood. It also helps fix the murmuring of unequal funding between the youth groups.

In my experience, it's not possible to read a modern 900 page paperback fantasy novel without breaking the spine - they print too close to the spine, and the book is just too big.  But otherwise, yeah, one should go to extremes to protect their books.

Having walked up or down a few non-functional escalators, I must say the experience is weirder than you'd expect, to the point of creepy.   Like you're breaking some sort of law or something.
Being able to bust out of complacency when necessary, is an important skill to have.

Because, bench-type refrigerators are a pain in the bum.  The energy saving is eaten up by the inconvenience of the dratted thing.  I tossed out our chest freezer and replaced it with an upright.  Ginormous difference in convenience.

So, my husband's car has this new-fangled thing on his side mirrors that light up when it is not safe to shift lanes.  So then he goes and drives my car... I don't have that thingee... and one time, he forgot he was driving my car and not his so he changed lanes without checking his blind-side because the "light was off".  He got honked at by an old woman and that embarrassed him enough that he never forgot again.  Hah hah.

Humans have always relied on technology. Primative hunting tools are a form of technology. So is the wheel, canning, glass making, etc.
By the way, the Amish are not opposed to tech. They are opposed to relying on outsiders. That means hooking up to the grid. Many now use power tools that are connected to independent power source.
By the way power tools are tech as well. Are you sad about our reliance on them?  Could you build a house with Primative tools? Sure, but it will take you much longer.
I check Google maps every time I leave the office. Not because I don't know the way, but to check traffic and get the best route.
Can you use a slide rule? Most engineers can't. Should we? No. We have our tech.

FWIW, I understood that from the start.
Also FWIW, I find it baffling that anyone can follow a GPS and yet not follow a map.  A GPS shows you a map.  It's not that hard.
    Because cameras don't need energy.
OK, now this is a problem.  Everyone should be taught how to operate a vehicle in reverse.  I never pull forward into a parking space, nor my garage.  Being able to drive backward is a very useful skill.  Especially if you want to do a J turn.    Even more useful is knowing where your car begins and ends (and where the objects around you begin and end).
