My mum performed an enormous act of service to the entire world, present and future, when she gave birth to me
As for acts of service that I've undertaken lately, there are a few:
         * I didn't tell anyone what @MormonGator said about @pam in a private message he sent me the other day (Considering the content of the message this was a favour to both Gator and Pam)
          * Despite my overwhelming desire to do so, I nobly resisted the temptation to berate @Sunday21 for being too right wing
         * Declined to rebuke @Vort for all the fallacies, inconsistencies and logical errors in his posts last week
         * Single-handedly defeated all of last week's attempts by Daleks to take over the universe, including three attempts alone last Monday
         * Contributed to world peace by ending forever all conflict, fighting and divisions about whether Anvil of Megadeath is the best band by declaring that the winner is actually the Berlin Philharmonic when performing Beethoven
         * Enabling others to be blessed by giving them opportunities to provide acts of service....... to me
As for acts of service that I've received lately, my wife spent all of June recovering from an operation, during which time she received several concerned visitors, and we received several yummy meals. Surprisingly, when I returned the cleaned food containers to the providers, and demanded refills, they declined!

    Hello, Grunt.
I'm late to the party. I can see that the Holy Spirit is working in your life. The truth will set you free. Remember that in ancient times, it was not the scribes or the lawyers (Pharisees) and all their learning that saved the Jews. It was the truth and that was found in the scriptures. When a certain radical young man named Jesus came along with powerful teachings, those teachings seemed to challenge the traditions of the people and the church. Or rather, it was this young radical named Jesus Christ that saved and set free those who discerned the truths He taught and followed Him.
There is always a difference between the truth and doctrine found in the scriptures and the traditions found in any church. It is up to you as a disciple of Jesus Christ (humble seeker) to discern truth from tradition. You will find the same truths and traditions practiced by the peoples in the Book of Mormon, but the patterns are the same. Never stop praying. It has taken me years and even decades to unravel much of it. But it doesn't take near that long to discern truth by the Holy Ghost. The journey is in reconciling what is written in scripture with the traditions of the churches you investigate. My witness to you is that the Book of Mormon is true. The more you read it, the more the answer will become clear what you should do. Hearing the answer(s) from me or anyone else may be helpful, but knowing the answer as it is given to you by the Holy Ghost will solidify your resolve and make your decisions clear.

    1) I think they are the same from looking at many lds.org sources. The "new" is added only in three D&C references, two in relation to marriage and one in relation to the restoration (D&C 22:1), and I think only for emphasis that it is a new revelation in this dispensation.
    2) I think in these cases it means to change without authority, as happened in institutional apostasy with every dispensation but this one.

Okay..this is my serious take (thinking what I would do if I was in that situation, using some logic here and natural human reaction)
If I like Mike but I'm dating Jason (unless Mike specifically asks me if I am dating someone) there is no way on earth that I will tell him that I'm dating someone, let alone talk with him about the possibility of me getting married to this guy, etc. I wouldn't want Mike to look elsewhere.

    My advice:
    GO DUCKIE!!!!
Every girl needs a Duckie in their lives.  Every guy needs to be a Duckie to some girl.  Ahhhh!  I love Duckie.

    OP,
You need to lay your cards out.  You have been friend zoned.  If you do not tell her how you feel, you will remain friend zoned, and have a broken heart at the same time.  If you tell her how you feel and she shoots you down, then you will have a broken heart.  No big deal, that's where you're headed anyways.
The upshot, is if she doesn't shoot you down, then you will have achieved "love"
Quit wasting your time.  Tell her how you feel.  Girls think about friends differently than guy's do.  If you're honest with yourself you will understand that even right now as "friends" she doesn't feel the same way about you that you do about her.  This is why it is important to find out asap.
    P.S.
You posted on an anonymous forum asking advice from strangers.  You need to tuck your ego, and sense of self righteousness.  You're completely right, we don't know you, we don't know her, and you don't know us.  If you want validation, or a hug, go ask your mom.

I say, have her come down.  Have a great time--as friends.  Get to know each other--as friends.*  Don't do anything that will weird out the relationship.
At some point, shortly after she's home, during a conversation on some other topic, casually drop in something like:
"Hey, I really enjoyed our visit.  I know you're seeing someone; but if it doesn't work out I'd be interested in spending a lot more time with you and seeing where things go.  Either way, your friendship means a lot to me too."
    Then, just see what happens.

*I personally have a hard time believing a female would travel out of state to visit a male if she weren't at least *a little* interested in him.  But, hey, I'm the king of misreading signals from women.
