    Hi Mum,
I agree with Lehi on both points. Be patient and trust that if the Spirit is telling you 2 spirits will join your family, then simply continue to live your life in a way that you are worthy and ready for that time when it comes, in whatever "form" that it comes. Two more spirits coming to you may not involve you or your husband physically in any way. I am reminded of a family in our ward with 5 kids. The father of the family sister died unexpectedly and the biological father didn't want the children any more. My friend ended up adopting their 6 nieces and nephews and now they have 11 kids all in the space of 10 months or so.
What does Heavenly Father have in store for you, I have no clue, but like Lehi said, "be strong and of a good courage" and trust things will be as they should.
As far as what the Church says, Handbook 2:
    21.4.7     In Vitro Fertilization
The Church strongly discourages in vitro fertilization using semen from anyone but the husband or an egg from anyone but the wife. However, this is a personal matter that ultimately must be left to the judgment of the husband and wife. Responsibility for the decision rests solely upon them.
    21.4.13  Sperm Donation
The Church strongly discourages the donation of sperm.
    21.4.16    Surrogate Motherhood
The Church strongly discourages surrogate motherhood.

It depends on how quickly the paper work can be completed. She needs to talk to her bishop who will assist in this. She will need to write a letter stating the circumstances, the Bishop will send that over to the Stake President and then the Stake President will need to send the information in to the First Presidency. It can take about two to three weeks for the First Presidency to process the request. It took my husband's request about two weeks after the Stake President sent the request in to Headquarters. Her Bishop might be able to give her a time frame.
In the past, it was difficult for a widowed woman to received a cancellation of sealing. But, from what I hear, it has become easier. My best friend's mother-in-law requested a sealing cancellation after she was widowed. It was granted, and she was able to be sealed to her second husband. I'm not sure how long it took, but I don't believe it was a lengthy process.

I wonder if there are many days when there is not an earthquake in the Valley. Not all tremblers are big enough to register except on sensitive equipment, but I'd guess they are nearly a daily occurrence.
Well, I checked and found it's not a daily thing, but it is frequent:

There is a lot of interest in a particular candidate for president in the USA.  Interest because the candidate is not a professional politician and claims governments are acting stupid.  I now have a very different view about what the opposing political candidate says concerning foreign government officials that are very scared if he is elected.  Our election may have more of an effect than just what candidates say they are going to do.
There is a lot of unrest concerning the ineffectiveness and stupidity of government.   Example – Spain has a 4 party government and the two major parties cannot agree enough on anything to form a new government – their government has been shut down for several months – the general response that I got was that job creation, the economy and just about anything people care about seems to be working better without a government.  It would seem that shutting down a government is more propaganda than reality when considering the Spain example.  In addition Barcelona wants to be a capitol of their own country – the area was forced to be part of Spain not so long ago and there are the old flags all over the place showing current support for regional separation.  Do I need to tell anyone how unhappy Greece is?
I was very surprised to learn how unhappy folks are in Italy with not just their government but with the Vatican.  In Turkey the refugees have been such a big problem with clashes going on that the government was finally forced to round up all the refugees and force them into camps.  There are jobs for the refugees but work release from camps now requires documentation that they are not affiliated with extreme groups.
One point of interest – Turkey is a popular place for Russian tourists (much more than US tourists) – I did not encounter any Russians that were unhappy with their government and Putin – I was very surprised with his popularity and how vocal Russians are about having him as the pres.
Also – it seemed to me that in general; among those I visited – religion is very much a negative thing.  Very few know much about LDS or care.
One last note – the Samsung phone translating apps are amazing at opening up conversations.

I agree with NT, please let us know how things are going @TilKingdomCome. Thanks NT for sharing the links too, I have just about finished this site, minus the videos. This caught my attention:
"There is no change in the Church's position of what is morally right. But what is changing - and what needs to change - is to help Church members respond sensitively and thoughtfully when they encounter same-sex attraction in their own families, among other Church members, or elsewhere"
    I agree with Yjacket.
Same link above states, "Same-sex attraction itself is not a sin, but yielding to it is." Also later it states, "Reconciling same-sex attraction with a religious life can present an especially trying dilemma. Anyone who lives in both worlds can attest to its difficulty. But with faith, love and perspective it can be done".
Elder Holland gave great talk: Helping those who struggle with same-sex attraction
""The First Presidency has stated, "There is a distinction between immoral thoughts and feelings and participating in either immoral heterosexual or any homosexual behavior." If you do not act on temptations, you have not transgressed.""

    Speaking of the S.L.T...
My father, the anti-mormon.  He never made a name for himself, but he did contribute to the body of church criticism.  He worked for the SLC newspapers back in the '70's.  Back then, both Trib and DesNews came out of the same building, off the same presses, and at many folks worked on both.  He, being a drinking, swearing, areligious gambling man, of course preferred the Tribune to the Church's Deseret News.  And he once showed me his "proof" that the church was bad.
He showed me three newspapers for a certain day.  First-run DesNews and Trib, there on page C5, was the same article on gambling.  But the second-run DesNews paper, turn to page C5, and the article had been changed, to a report on charitable activities of some old ladies knitting circle.   My dad's theory was that THE BRETHREN© always got an advance issue of the paper, saw the article on gambling, and forced the change.
(I didn't say it was much of a contribution to the body of church criticism, just that it was a contribution.)
If he were alive today, he'd talk about how the church was behind the photoshopping, trying to maintain it's power over the people through earthquakes (or some such similar opinion.)

As long as they report the entire story...
The electricity from the lightning bolt actually traveled through the statue, into the temple, and was eventually rerouted to a small 3rd world country giving them enough power to run things for a month. Said country thanked the Church for their continual humanitarian efforts!

That is one reason I am uncomfortable with temple "miracle stories" telling of how this or that temple was miraculously preserved from some disaster. It may well be true, but I think that some Latter-day Saints get the idea that the temple is impregnable, and that it has magical protection that keeps anything bad from ever happening to it. Such is not the case, though I do believe that God can and, on occasion, does protect his temple and his Saints from harm. But I do not pretend to know the mind of God or have any ability to predict when God will see fit to exercise such control.

    Till,
Congratulations on your baptism.  I'm going to offer the same caution I offered earlier, be very careful in your decisions or you will very likely find yourself walking out of the Church.  The Gospel is awesome, it's wonderful, but baptism and hearing it for the first time is a spiritual high.  What happens in six months from now, a year from now.  As a newly baptized member of the Church you have made some sacred covenants with God, to be a discipline of Christ. He has promised that as you obey his commandments he will provide many blessings for you.
One of those commandments is unequivocally that homosexual behavior in all forms is unacceptable.  Personally, I find it a little disheartening that some members of the church will have disagreements over things like whether "vaping" is acceptable or whether drinking caffeine is against the Word of Wisdom and yet they have a very hard time stating unequivocally that homosexual behavior in all forms is unacceptable.
I know this is very hard for you, homosexual behavior does not just encompass sex. Homosexual behavior also encompasses the realm of homosexual relationships. It is absolutely unacceptable for two men to be in a non-sexual but romantic relationship.  That is part of living the Gospel. Just like it is unacceptable to attend Church wearing a mini-skirt, or a t-shirt saying Heroin is good, or vaping in the Church, it is unacceptable to demonstrate homosexual behavior inside the Church building. It is unacceptable to be a member in good standing and be in a homosexual relationship.
Where exactly does a non-sexual but romantic homosexual relationship lead, you hold hands and snuggle for the next 60 years of your life? I also don't think you completely understand asexual, it means "a person with no sexual feelings or desires".  So you are telling me that you don't get aroused . . .like ever .  .? If that is the case, why do you want to be in a romantic relationship with a man? The whole point of why God gave men and women desires is to have a family and that can only occur between man and woman. You want children, but yet you don't want take the necessary actions to have children (i.e. sexual feelings for a woman). If the reason is because you want to be loved so you can feel whole/complete, no one can do that for you.  Only you can make yourself whole
I will sing it loud and clear, homosexual behavior in all forms is unacceptable behavior for a member in good standing of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, no ifs ands or buts. It's not just about sex.  Please note I have said behavior not feelings.
As a sidenote, I don't know about wearing women's jackets but as an FYI transgender individuals are not eligible to attend the temple and become endowed.  The Church and the Gospel are firm that God gave men and women distinct roles and responsibilities, and each gender should rejoice and enjoy their roles and responsibilities-they are distinct and it is necessary for them to work together to carry out God's plan.

Sorry it took me a bit to get back to this.
I think that it's a matter of mixing your seed with someone else's (sex aside) being a private and sacred thing. When it comes to embryo donation it's literally no different than adopting except the woman grows it in her body. One would not turn away from adoption because the child was conceived in sin. Most adopted children probably were. But to conceive a child with someone who is not your spouse is a bigger deal.
As the handbook states it is strongly discouraged, not forbidden. It would not lose one a temple recommend or the like doing so. But I do not, personally, think it has anything to do with money, legal issues, etc.
Other than my personal opinion and thoughts...which are speculative at best...I have no idea. I believe it. I follow it. But I do not understand it. I would have preferred to use an egg donor rather than embryo donation. But strongly discouraged is as good as a commandment to me.

People are small, vain, and foolish. They seek to justify themselves. They like to fancy themselves smart. They look for divine loopholes, thinking to gain heaven by a careful observance of little "outs" in The Law, for which they can't be condemned because, hey, that's how it's written, and it wouldn't be fair. They think God is an attorney who has memorized ten thousand volumes of The Celestial Legal and Penal Code.
That is, until they find something they want to believe or do that is clearly outside the law. At that point, it's all "Spirit of the Law!", which is code for "I get to do what I want to do because I want to do it." If I were a better person than I am, I would always feel sorrow for such people instead of just disgust for their vanity and idiocy.

yes vaping is harmful. They've found that even steam is harmful, if you give your lungs enough exposure to it. (a study that was done on people who often attended saunas for long periods of time).

And no Vaping isn't as harmful as smoking cigarettes (generally speaking)... in the same way that jumping off a 25 foot cliff onto cement isn't as harmful as jumping off a 100 ft cliff onto cement is.

    This isn't why.
There's no such thing. You're asking if one can be engaged in an activity without engaging in the activity. If the relationship isn't "sexual" then it isn't homo-"sexual".
Per LDS standards, can two buddies of the same gender live together without sex? Yes. It's called roommates.
