  1. *Chuckle* The world has been playing "Guess when" for a long time now, hey, my crystal ball has never worked, but if I had to be pressed to say anything, I'd say "Stay ready so you don't have to get ready". I'm not doing the 11th hour thing, so, I'll remain chicken little. My life is weird, so, I leave nothing to chance. Maybe the Army made me paranoid, but hey, I'll just remain ready. It's easier.
  2. Yeah, Whatever...... I'm going to go to the San Diego temple for a session, that place looks awesome, I've not been to that one yet. I've only every been to the Redlands one. Islamonutters just make me want to go even more now. Yeah, their scare tactics work, NOT! LOL
  3. I can understand that, and it is justifiably perplexing, also, when we think about how many times the Holy Bible and it's various books have been translated, retranslated, kind of "wash, rince, repeat" kind of thing, and one can really get derailed at the differences therein as well, and if you go from Torah (Hebrew) and translate to English, many things do not translate well. Mormons are not all that dissimilar from other flavors of Christianity, some of us are well read, some of us are left of the middle, some of us are not even that. Me for example, as to the meat and potatoes of your question, I would not be able to adequately answer is to any comfortable level of explanation. After all is said and done, 18 months from now, you'll be one of the better well read members in your ward! That might bite you in the buns though, your Bishop might ask you to give more talks than the average member. The more you know goes with GOOD DEEDS, no good deed goes unpunished. Caveat emptor!
  4. Dang! Well, you sure fixed my wagon! What am I supposed to say to THAT stuff? In the spirit to the line "He's an ANGRY ELF", you're a MEAN MORMON!
  5. Fine! For you having entered a plea guilty, you are sentenced to 30 minutes of licking a 9 volt battery and 2 years of supervised probation! Correction that works, brought to you by Bad Karma. A violation of probation will require you to step on a lego barefoot.
  6. OP, Well, you could, if you feel like it, invite your husband to go with you to see the bishop together. I don't know where that will lead, I just know that once you both give up, you're right, there is no hope. So, don't give up, at least not yet, I mean, hey, it's your marriage.
  7. Oh, I absolutely "get it", it's a tough place to be in, I was married to a NON member for 19 years before my MEMBER WIFE now, it was 19 years of her smoking 3 packs a day, her drinking, her mocking my faith, my church, and those were the best parts. I am blessed to be married and sealed to a member of the church that is in harmony with an LDS life. I still wish Blossom the absolute BEST in her investigation of the faith. I'm not sure what 18 months of investigation is going to do for her, it's kind of a random number, IMHO. But hey, it's HER 18 months. Regardless of our callings, remember, We ARE Elders, of which a part of that definition is "Guardian of the faith". I kind of suck at the guardian part, but hey, I charge forward none the less.
  8. It *can* be, the difference in "feel" is pretty much ward to ward. BUt that is like ANY church, the closer you get to the inner workings, the more involved those members as well as the church is involved in your own life. Many do not realize you CAN just say "Yeah, I'll see you on Sunday, buh bye". Then again, being a Sunday Mormon is BORING!
  9. Hey, I know I am hijacking the thread, but I've said it before, man, aren't you glad plural marriage is not the way of things now? Man, I get myself in trouble with ONE wife for saying dumb things, can you imagine having a squad, or even just a fire-team size! Oh, talk about a cooked goose, you're one done Tom Turkey just waking up in the morning!
  10. OOPSIE! I didn't pay attention to location like I should of. Dog one it! I'm slacking!
  11. That is the crux of the problem, even reading the bible itself cover to cover, without the holy spirit to help me out, I find it sensational, whimsical, it makes my teeth itch. Alma carries on like one third of the old testament. I really am one of those maniacs that have read my scriptures cover to cover a few times, each time, I find myself about to scream senseless utterings. Fortunately, along comes the spirit to help me out.
  12. Priesthoodpower, Hey man, we grow old, our bodies begin to show the wear, and its' ok. Love transcends all that, one day, just having one more day together will be the highest wish. A little junk in the trunk will be meaningless. I'm sure you're no underwear model either. File Superior court of your state "Petition for dismissal" you both have to print your names, date and sign (In Pro Per), one as Petitioner, one as respondent, respectively. File with the clerk, it will be handled in the manner your state's Superior does so. it takes TWO of you to dismiss a dissolution of marriage action in the works. Good luck, now you two quit dragging your feet and go kill that divorce.
  13. Sorry, you've caught me in the middle of sharing goldfish crackers with my youngest son... Ok, sorry I could not assist you further.
  14. No one is insulting you, you're reacting poorly to questions not just my own, but others. You perceive insult where none is offered. You do that often. Excellent! Proceed!

  16. Interesting stuff. I'll just answer though, Jesus is not God. Imagine him on the cross saying "Forgive them father, for they know not what they do". If he were God, if he spoke at all, it would seem odd for him to say "Forgive them MYSELF, for they know not what they do". You're being obtuse

  18. Awesome, who are your sources for this "information"? Are you taking missionary lessons? They are a great source
  19. Her sources are "Anti Mormon Sites" which ask the "investigator" to raise these points to refute our doctrine. That's because Jesus is **NOT** God, he is the SON of GOD. There, a Mormon said it. HOw are you coming along with your missionary lead lessons? Are they helping to answer your questions? Have you discussed a baptism date yet?
