And old lady in my ward joined us for sacrament meeting yesterday.  Her great grandparents on both sides were slaves.  She grew up in Mississippi and she was 8 years old or so when she looked out her bedroom window and a man was hanging off the tree across the yard.  What's more, her sister in Maryland died last February of cancer, her brother died of Covid in Chicago in March and her cousin died of Covid in Mississippi in April.  She has been on chemo for the past 5 years due to complications with lupus that I don't understand.  This has caused her bones to be very fragile like that Shyamalan movie causing her to have several fractures all over her body.  Talking to her yesterday gave me hope for the future.  All these terrible things have happened to her and continue to happen to her yet she is the most positive and upbeat person I have ever met in my life.  I asked her about race relations today and she said, direct quote, "these people don't know what racism is".

I won't cancel it.  If people show up, great, if they don't great.  I'd encourage everyone to go and get tested prior to the event.  This might be the last chance your 80 year old relative will see everyone together.  As my 84-year-old aunt just told me - I'd rather see you then die of covid rather than not see you and die in my sleep.

Tons of people want it to stop but nobody is going to do anything to stop it.  You know why?  Because the time to stop it was when these people were born - 20 or more years ago.  That's when their PARENTS could have raised them properly.
So, you want to do something about it?  RAISE YOUR KIDS PROPERLY.

With measurement processes having drastically changed between April and June, especially in the availability of testing, I wouldn't look at that graph to base my concerns on.  Rather, I would base my concerns on the Case Mortality Rate - because, that's the significant number that's not affected by measurement changes in infection rates.

Try Philippines.  Not only do you have ward buildings without A/C, they also have ward buildings within 10 feet of the neighbors yelling, roosters crowing, dogs barking, motor vehicles running, etc. etc... all in cacophony with your sacrament prayer.

I prophesy in the name of the Lord God of Israel, unless the United States redress the wrongs committed upon the Saints in the state of Missouri and punish the crimes committed by her officers that in a few years the government will be utterly overthrown and wasted, and there will not be so much as a potsherd left, for their wickedness in permitting the murder of men, women and children, and the wholesale plunder and extermination of thousands of her citizens to go unpunished, thereby perpetrating a foul and corroding blot upon the fair fame of this great republic, the very thought of which would have caused the high-minded and patriotic framers of the Constitution of the United States to hide their faces with shame.

I was saying earlier that the riots are really about removing the symbols of the old empire and replacing them with new ones.  I was waiting for what the new symbols would be because that would reveal the true agenda.
The first suggestion is upon us already. They've torn down the statue of Francis Scott Key.

Ever since Kapernick knelt (and really, quite a bit before him) there has been a noticeable movement to end the playing of the Star Spangled Banner as our national anthem because there is one use of the word "slave" in one of the less sung verses.
Now, the first suggestion by Yahoo Music is to replace it with Imagine.
    https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/why-it-might-be-time-to-replace-the-star-spangled-banner-with-a-new-national-anthem-023741108.html
So, we replace a statement of courage under fire and triumph over impossible odds... with a statement of unity under atheism and communism and a complete lack of motivation to do anything useful.
I'll admit that the tune is beautiful in its simplicity and mesmerizing tones.  But the lyrics are absolutely against everything I hold dear.  God, Family, Country.
Evil wrapped up in a package of peace, unity, and love.  I wanna know why there aren't any rainbows, unicorns, and fluffy bunnies.  Oh, wait...

Now, THAT really is pure evil.

An apology made after such eggregious accusations simply to save face is not a sincere apology, nor is it really an apology.  Let me see him go back to Don Lemon and passionately state this apology in the same manner he passionately accused people like me of being racist.  Twitter apology that is easily swept under a 2 second news coverage after all the mess he created fanning racial divisiveness going on those news rounds is either insincere or cowardly.  And where's his mother?

That guy was not assigned to that garage in last year's race where the FBI's 2019 picture of the garage was from.  Another guy - a white guy - was assigned to that garage.
Here's a picture of it today:

Here's a video of Talladega garages in 2017 where you can see the "noose" (you can just watch the first few minutes to see them):

I grew up in a Catholic family.  My parents didn't need to teach me anything about the "full history of the (Catholic or LDS) Church" for me to understand both churches is full of flawed people doing their best with what they know.  If kids are hearing the bad stuff from anti-Mormons and they trusted THEIR VALUES more than the parent's values when they're in conflict, then the parents FAILED IN TEACHING THEM HOW TO DISTINGUISH GOOD FROM BAD - another VALUE.
A kid with "so much anger built up" because he hears bad stuff from anti-Mormons is another kid whose parents failed in teaching VALUES - Patience, Forgiveness, and Perseverance.
And here's another failure - blaming somebody else for one's lack of values... is a lack of value.
    Yep.  Two VALUES.

Utah Coronavirus Data is not where you were in May.  The thing to watch for is the death rate versus the infection rate especially with increased testing and immunity.
    These are your numbers today:
    Total Population:  3.2 Million
    Total Tested:  299,312 (approx 10%)
Total Positive:  17,906 (0.6% of population, 6% of tested)
Total Dead:  158 (0.9% of positive, 0.005% of population), 78% of these deaths are in Salt Lake and Utah Counties
To put this into perspective, 334 people in Utah died of influenza in 2017, 663 died of suicide.
    Here's a nice graph:
