The ones I remember from watching Saturday morning cartoons in the late 70's early 80's were the one about the preamble, because it was instrumental in 8th grade when I had to memorize the preamble, conjunction junction, and I'm just a bill. I have since looked up the others to remember others that, but those three I could remember without prompting.

I agree with both mdfxmd and my two cents:  You can't expect a spouse to be ok with a 180 degree turn after after 12 years.  If the situation were reversed and you both were attending the Mormon church for 12 years and he suddenly told you he didn't want to go anymore and wasn't going to - I'm sure that would be a huge upheaval in your life (and honestly, many many marriages have broken up over such).  So while it's unrealistic to suddenly turn the table on your spouse and children after 12 years when they are happy where they are; this is where I agree with my two cents.   You certainly can attend both.   My friend has a similar compromise in her family.  It works out very well for the most part and they've been married now for about 24 (?) years.

Tim McGraw - Humble and Kind  (Apparently I don't know how to get the video to post here - I tried to embed it and that didn't work.  I tried to put the URL but the editor turned it 'red' and apparently I wasn't allowed to post that either.  LOL.  So you'll have to look it up.)

    "Humble And Kind"
You know there's a light that glows by the front door
Don't forget the key's under the mat
    When childhood stars shine,
    Always stay humble and kind

Go to church 'cause your mamma says to
Visit grandpa every chance that you can
    It won't be wasted time
    Always stay humble and kind

Hold the door, say "please", say "thank you"
    Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb
But always stay humble and kind
When the dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
    Let yourself feel the pride
But always stay humble and kind

Don't expect a free ride from no one
Don't hold a grudge or a chip and here's why:
    Bitterness keeps you from flyin'
    Always stay humble and kind

Know the difference between sleeping with someone
And sleeping with someone you love
    "I love you" ain't no pick-up line
So always stay humble and kind

Hold the door, say "please", say "thank you"
    Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got mountains to climb
But always stay humble and kind
When those dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
    Let yourself feel the pride
But always stay humble and kind

When it's hot, eat a root beer popsicle
Shut off the AC and roll the windows down
    Let that summer sun shine
    Always stay humble and kind

Don't take for granted the love this life gives you
When you get where you're going don't forget turn back around
And help the next one in line
    Always stay humble and kind

@Dillon, are you a male, or are you a female? Are you one of the youth, or are you a leader? (I'd better say that I'm not about embarrassing people. I just want to understand the context as I compare your remarks to my own experiences, if that makes any sense).

@Dillon, you're taking what appears to be personal experience, using hyperbole to exaggerate it, and abstracting that to apply it to all teen girls everywhere without any other consideration.  This is not an effective way to make a point.  (And you're wrong about the universality of your premise.)

When I worked at BSA, we hosted girls camps. They did everything the boys did. All we did was switch Honor Trail to Value trail.

I know when I was a teenage girl we did "rough" camp.  We had to dig our own latrines, we cooked on campfires, we learned to tie knots.  Many things that the boys do.  I do know that many of the girls camps today still teach some basic skills of survival.  At least in my area.  But then we also have trek where they go the route the pioneers did pushing handcarts and living out on the plains.
I do think that girl's camp today focuses more on the spiritual.

I know Anatess has talked about how they used to have a plan like this but I thought she said the insurance companies did away with them when Obamacare became mandatory.  I LOVED the plan she talked about (last year sometime I think?) as it was a 'hospital only' type plan and would have been perfect for our healthy and non-doctor needing-generally-speaking-family.
Second thought:  I thought Trump took away the penalty for not carrying insurance....  has this kicked in yet?  You wouldn't have to satisfy the government if that has kicked in.
Third thought:  Someone mentioned COBRA above.  HUGE cost.  We had to use it twice in the past 14 years when my husband was switching jobs/companies and we had to wait 3 months for the new programs at the new job to kick in.  You can keep your current coverage but you are paying the entire monthly premium.  OUCH.  We did cover only the kids the first time as they were young and in numerous sports and we just knew if we didn't have it... THAT is the time our son would be hit in the face with a baseball or something (LOL).  The second time around I figured out the dates for 'retroactive coverage' were within the time period where you don't have to pay a premium but if something happened (major) you could pay the previous premiums all at once and your coverage would be activated - so we 'floated' on the belief nothing would happen (and it didn't) but knew if something huge DID, we could cough up the $3000 for 2 months premiums and the 80/20 would kick in retroactively.
WHEW - sorry for all that but perhaps it would help someone wondering about COBRA.  LOL.  Nice to have the option when leaving a job but so expensive.

We don't know who for sure did the filming or the initial posting, but it's been pushed to every media outlet by the same dude who sneaks into temples (he spent 40 hrs the first week alone doing this).  He also attended the F&T meeting where this all went down.  Mom is a angry ex-Mormon, Dad is a member.  Girl hadn't been to church is a ~year.  The speech was literally rehearsed and approved by the parents.

I don't think it has been established whether the parents were the source of the video or not.
But they certainly have made a conscious effort to surf the wave of publicity this has generated, for their own purposes.

I asked the temple matron once about the bras, and she said that is just lore and some Type A personalities getting Type Bs spreading said lore. I generally wear my bra under the garment.
Yeah, trial and error, really. Like any undergarment when you get fancier than basic panties. I was told back in the day to go a size smaller than I think I need and this advice has served me well.
I also have different garments for different outfits.

I was told when I received my endowment to wear my garments next to my skin.
Later in life, I spoke to the temple matron about female things and garments. She assured me that while garments are sacred they are also underwear and to wear my garments as needed to fit my female needs. I asked her point blank if that meant that I didn't have to wear the garment next to my skin and she said that no, there are times when it wouldn't be sensible.
I have some bras that I wear on top of my garments and I have some that I wear next to my skin as they will not stay in place if placed over the garment.
You can always ask to speak with the temple matron next time you are at the temple. You can then speak to her about your concerns and receive her counsel. I will say that it has been my experience that church leaders are not so authoritative about how we keep our covenants. They give guidelines and then allow us to make our own decisions.

If I could "like" this about 20 times I would.

I was also thinking;  Just say "none" and don't add the 'we aren't having kids'.   Just "none" with a smile is sufficient.  Let them think or take it how they wish.

Why does an explanation need to go with?  Why not simply, "none".  The end.  If they pursue it, something like, "Thank you for your concern, but this is a personal matter."  To say something more personal (like that you don't like / want children) is to invite more personal inquiry.  If you want to avoid personal inquiry, don't say anything personal.
Alternately, there's the fine art of diversion:
Nosy-Sister: "How many children do you have?"
    You: "None.  How about you?"
Nosy-Sister: "We have 6.34. Why don't you have children?" (aside: how anyone can ask that is beyond me)
You: (ignoring her question entirely) "Oh what are their names, ages, interests, schools, IQs?  Which one is the best?  Which one can't do anything right to save his life?  Did you ever leave one behind at the gas station?  I bet it would be really hard for witness protection to hide a family that large.  You do avoid witnessing organized crime, don't you?"
Nosy-Sister: [nigh on eternal gushing about her children; or left speechless by the organized crime question]
You: "Excuse me, I need to find the lady's room."

I think you might have a comprehension problem.  How is the commitment to wear them night and day any different than a commitment to wear them day and night?
We do wear them like regular underwear.  In what way to wear them would make them special?  Think about the endowment, and the symbolism of the markings.  These are to be CONSTANT reminders to us, not just when we need a little pick me up.
Perhaps your bishop and stake president didn't explain the wearing of the garment?  The 3 S rule?

There's no issue in terms of housing.  He's gone off to stay with other relatives who are near the hospital where he wants to get that surgery done.  He already has plans to return to Ecuador at the end of October.  He also seems to have backed off from wanting to drive, most likely due to the influence of my stepmother, who I suspect sees it the same way I do.

Yes, and no, not in the slightest.  Gossipy busybodies haven't interested me in any real way other than comic relief, for well over a quarter of a century now.
Nope, with a single exception.  When I was a kid, my father's gall bladder exploded and he almost died.  The doctor said if he didn't give up drinking, he would be dead within a year.  My dad accused him of just saying that because the doctor was Mormon, and then he found a non-LDS doctor who told him the same thing.  So he gave up drinking, for like 20 years.  He got by with near beer.  Then, when he was dying of cancer, we moved him out from his home in Utah to ours in Colorado.  He was absolutely dying, it was only a matter of time.  After he got to Colorado, and before we got him in the hospice, he decided he finally wanted a real beer.  I provided him one.  Then he went into hospice and died within 2 weeks.  (Of the advanced cancer, not of anything alcohol related.)  I'm willing to bend my knee at the feet of my Master on the other side of the veil and answer for my choice.  I think JAG needs to go before I do, so I can retain his services as a heavenly lawyer, I intend to plead "honor thy father".
So Dahlia, if you have a dying parent with a last wish in your home, let me know, and I'll officially refuse to judge you.
