ok I haven't read this entire thread, only to pg 5 so far but I want to share a thought and a question. You are looking for a LDS couple to donate to. I agree with that. But locally or nationally? IF locally, can you handle seeing your child being raised by someone else? Can you keep quiet if you don't like what you see? What if when one of the 11 embryos get to be teenagers and decide that they want to start dating one of your 5 children? How do you approach that one? Will they all know about the others? I remember when growing up other kids thought we were "rich." By the standards then I suppose we were. We lived on a lake, had income property (5 houses) I had my horses and a nice home. But we really wern't rich. We got new clothes just before the school year started, my Mother was great at stretching a dollar. We always had enough on the table for one or two "extra" people, friends. There were 7 of us. We all helped out. While they knew that my father was a police officer, they didn't know that the local store put their shoes out back for him, the ones that were displays. Also some clothes. The local bakery set out a tin can (like popcorn comes in) every morning of the day old donuts. (true) Yep cops love their donuts. LOL We were rich in love and family. When my kids were growing up I would hear, "Johnnies got a bigger house. Freds parents have an inground pool. Sammies dad just got a new car. Wow they must have a lot of money. I would tell them that we had much of the same, a smaller house but paid for, a blow up pool and a good used car. But we don't have the monthly payments they do. We have love in our home. That is way better. Now Freddie and Sammie still rely on their parents for help. Johnny has been in and out of trouble while mom and dad bail them out. I am thankful that we were "poor" in their eyes. (my kids) There isn't a day that goes by that both of my kids call and tell me that they love me and thank you. I have a beautiful grandson (my avitar) We help each other out when needed and don't expect anything in return. I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you to my kids for allowing me to be a mother to you and be in your life forever.

Little off subject here but how is Mrs Dr T doing? Have you had the new baby and if not when is it due?

Remember internet security. "Real" address's should not be given out so I do agree that an internet blog journal would be better. Each person could sign up and take it for a couple days or however long that you decide. Only that person could write in it during their time. I really don't want to see addresses exchanged. It is my understanding that the people that you see on "tv courts" have already filed a small claims suit in their local district. They agree to have their cases heard on national tv and abide from whatever the outcome is. The people who are judges on these tv reality shows are indeed "real" judges. As for Dr. Phil, I have heard that he is not a studied psychologist, meaning that he doesn't have a certification or degree in what he is practicing. I don't watch him as I don't really like him at all. Again, some things are criminal some are civil. Check fraud is criminal. Owing back rent is civil. Why else would we have different courts for different crimes? Marsha

Isn't that what small claims court is for? That isn't a criminal issue therefore why tie up the police time? It is a civil matter, one for small claims court judges to decide. Marsha

We just went thru a dealer to make a key for us. They had to have a copy of title or registration or insurance card to do this. Then they would make the key.

Thank you all. My grandson left here this morning (he spent the night w/ grandma) and the dog was just fine. But this evening he asked his mom "wheres Quincy" No one had said anything to him about this, do you suppose he just feels something happened? He never asked about him before. I guess I have to turn this in to a teaching lesson for him. We are just learning to stop and look both ways for cars. So I guess tell him that Quincy didn't look and he is forever gone. Is that ok? Is that bad? I just don't know. I just can't think straight. Gonna be a lonnnnnnng night I think.

I got a phone call at work this afternoon, my precious dog had been struck by a car. Seems my DIL had put him on his lead outside (he only went outside to do is doodie) and the clasp was half frozen and didnt close properly. He got loose and ran out in to the roadway. He was my "baby" my best buddy, my protector. I went to the vets office but it was too late. He had passed away 10 minutes after arriving. He looked so perfect laying there. I really thought he was asleep. His neck was broken. He never had a chance. What do I tell my 2 1/2 year old grandson? It was his buddy too. I can't stop the tears. How do I cope with this? It seems so unreal. Marsha

drjme, What a wonderful response you have given. Thank you for that as a lot of us can use that advice. WINNIE: I was just wondering last night about you. I am glad that you found your way back to this board and hope that you continue to come more often. Your posts are always read with care and pleasant thoughts always go your way. There is support here for you whenever you want/need it. Please stick around and let us hold you in our arms. You have gone thru so much in the last year. Don't make resoulitons for the new year, but dream and wish. I think that if people make resoultions and they don't/can't keep them then some depression sets in. Take it one day at a time, like you have been doing. Write about the grandkids here, we always love hearing what is going on in their lives. PLEASE please pm me, lets get together and chat. I agree with this 100%. The OP was/ is not campaigning for any leader. People need to quit picking about threads and read them as they are written, not seeing something that isn't there. Can't we all agree to disagree at times and just get along with each other? Thanks Marsha

I have to say that this site has had a very positive influence on me. I have been here for many years now and have moderated for quite a few as well. When I joined the "oldsters" sure helped me out. I was just investigating the Church. Any and all questions were answered, mainly by Snow and Bat. Snow being a member and Bat was an ex-mormom and to my knowledge is still an ex-mormon. While there were some battles among those two they stood pretty united in my growing with the Church. I think that they were both happy when I decided to join the Church but I would have to say that Bat was probably the most happy about it. Now for you that think "huh" yep it is possible. IF for some reason I didn't get to Church it was Bat that admonished me. Anyway to be able to come to a site and get the answers that you are seeking was great. We have many many more members now, from all faiths, and it is great to see the varying opinions. Without all of you we wouldn't be here today. Thanks Heather for starting this site. Marsha

Oh my. Canning? I do it every year or two, this is the year. I am canning stewed tomatoes and peaches - so far. I do at least 100 quarts of tomatoes when I can. Nothing like home processed food! And it is easy. Try it SF, it can get addicting!
