The devastation of these hurricanes is unreal

Yes "good changes" are good! but the church can't change things every time a small minority of the church is offended by something. I feel like that would politicize the church very quickly. I side with Vort. If there was a real problem with the picture, I'm sure those who have a higher degree of spiritual sensitivity and stewardship would make the change. I have a friend that told me once "If I have a view that I find is not shared by the general authorities, I will change my view". In other words, he would repent (and repent is not some scary word we use when we are awful murdering sinners, repenting is simply a change of heart and mind to become more christlike)

I suppose he could for some... In fact I'm pretty sure he has convinced many he is a Christ

about a decade off but here is another great song with the phrase "round and round" in it -
Deeper understanding of "House of the Lord"
Fether replied to Fether's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I understand all that, Im just curious if there had been any quotes from prophets that expanded the meaning or gave a different perspective that anyone had come across -
The idea is to keep them sacred, most doctors/nurses have a high level of professionalism where they won't take them lightly or make fun of them.

"Temples are literally houses of the Lord" - True to the Faith I feel like there is greater meaning in this phrase than I currently give credit. Has anyone received insights on temples that have increased your view/understanding on. Particularly in the sense if them being houses of the lord.

We just naturally think we look good. (I'm about 20% joking)

I know it may be accurate... but wow! I finished feeling depressed and upset xD https://www.lds.org/ensign/1981/01/the-new-me-has-been-cancelled?lang=eng

This isn't the first time someone has been frustrated by the notion of "it being to help men." I for one have never come across this besides seeing others complain about so I don't think it is true at all. Many boys and girls start thinking about sex at a young age. Many will come across pornography as early as 9 (I did). Now in no girl, but I feel confident in telling you that you will find more joy in your life if you choose to be modest.

Are are all infants that die REALLY immediately saved??

Never mind, found the answer I guess I misunderstood what Truman G Madsen was saying -

I guess I'm referring to the idea that they are going straight to the celestial kingdom, no if, ands, or buts, just a free pass. -
This is kind of an interesting thing to read x) "I eventually made the decision" makes the situation sound like some intense moral anomaly xD Im sure we are all the same way

I think we should just be good always. Personality and how we act does and should change. When I'm around my nephews, I am going to wrestle them all and let them climb all over me. When I'm around my parents, I probably won't. My stances of gospel topics do not change but how I address them does. For example, I'll openly admit the evils of homosexual relationship in a presidency meeting, but speak more cautiously when im around my many friends that are homosexual (though my stance will be the same).

The best way to raise any percentage in the church is to raise overall righteousness if the members. No matter how many miracle stories there are and no matter what tactics you use to people to do home teaching, it won't last unless they are praying, reading and living the gospel every day. I don't like "miracle" stories because like every miracle or conversion story in scripture, they are the exception and not the rule. I had a cool experience where I helped a YSA I home taught become active again. but I don't tell that story nearly as often as I tell the story of the old couple whom I HT. They are as active as they can be due to health restraints. Before and During my first visit, they told me 3 or 4 times that they hadn't had HT in 3 years and how they had missed it so much (in reality they had HT but they never came). I spent 30 minutes just talking and getting to know them. It was fun!

I get a little fired up on this topic. I was visiting my parents Ward a few weeks ago and the lesson on EQ was about service or something like that. It was a very good lesson at the end, the teacher posed the question "what can we do to find more opportunities to serve?" Now in my own Ward, we have as low as 13% home teaching sometimes. And I know the church has a major problem with this. I brought up in that lesson that we shouldn't be seeking additional service opportunities when we are failing in the service we are called to do. And I tried to say it in such a way to not extend judgment as I didn't know the numbers there, nor was it my place or duty.

I greatest service is the service you are called to do.
