    Hi guys its RooTheMormon.
I was just coming on to kinda seek advice and maybe just updare in a way?
You may have noticed I havent been very active lately. This is due to some issues I have been having with the site. Whenever I try to post to a topic, my browser will completely collaspe onto the home screen of my phone. But that doesnt happen when I am starting a topic. Confusing right?
I am able to post to a topic though if I hurry really fast before it closes, which is really frustrating, especially considering I usually have a lot to say!
I have already contacted @pam so I can hopefully get things figured out and back on track.
Weird thing is it only recently started, the site never gave me any issues before.
Has anyone else had this struggle?
    Anyways thats all.
Ps. @anatess2 It wouldnt let me reply to you on the garments post. Just fyi I am a female.

Required no, once endowed, expected. There are no garment police save that when you renew a recommend, you are asked if you wear them day and night. My own experience, there are times I simply didn't wear them, I didn't feel right, something nearly unwell inside, I felt at odds, unprotected, not in sync. When I returned to wearing them, I felt better, they remind me of of important promises I made not just in my endowment, but in my sealing as well, I feel more a part of my wife when wearing them. I strongly suspect that the holy spirit speaks to one often about the wearing and the intent. I am no where near the example cookie cutter mormon, I just try over and over to be a better one each day.
As to private or sacred, I will mirror my response. In military service, oft there were times it was necessary to conduct work sans my ACU blouse and my sand colored garment shirt was visible. No one ever noticed or cared. I think the spirit understood.
Funny timing I would see this, I've just ordered more replacements from LDS distribution yesterday, I am hard on garments.
For those not wearing garments YET, they are somewhat of a fuss, but they are unwarranted concerns. Once you've been in yours for a short bit, you stop thinking about them, you just wear them.

    Hi Roo!
A quick answer to your question.  Yes, you choose to wear garments.  You choose it when you make your temple covenants.  Once you make that covenant, then you are required to wear it... that is, you become beholden to those covenants.  Make sense?
So, I have 2 boys, 16 and 14.  They've been wearing undergarments in the same style as regular garments since they grew out of their diapers.  It's a way for me to establish modesty standards for my kids.   I wasn't paying close enough attention to remember if you're a boy or a girl.  There's a difference in the sleeve length for the top - the female garments are a capped sleeve, the male garments have t-shirt sleeves.  But both have the same style bottoms where they go almost to the knee.
So, it's pretty easy for the boys to find undergarments in the same style as garments - I just get the boys' undershirt.  Hanes is selling them right now for a 5-pack +3 free for $6.47 at Walmart for their back-to-school specials.   And then they pair it with the long leg boxer briefs.  Hanes also has an 8-pack package of these on sale right now.  For females, it's a bit trickier because the camisoles are usually sleeveless.  And they don't sell long-leg boxer briefs for females at places like Walmart.  As I don't have daughters, I've never really thought about what I would get for daughters underrgarrnents.  @zil, did you wear garment-style underwear when you were a kid?
Hmm... sounds like I might have a business idea...

No.  But we knew that garments come down to the knee and have short sleeves, and that our clothing must cover those same areas, so we were mentally prepared for the change in underclothes, and didn't need to make changes in outer clothing.

Actually, Mormons can't jump.  (They're too huge and nerdy, and jumping was banned right before smiling.)

I wear garments to workout and then change into a fresh pair at the gym. No one has ever said anything.
My female relatives disapprove and feel that garments are ugly and restrictive. Can not please everyone.

I was actually told by my bishop that prayers have nothing to do with closing your eyes. The only things we really need to do when praying is
·Bow our heads (out of respect)
    ·Open with Dear Heavenly Father
·Close with In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
He told us youth that the closing your eyes is so little kids can concentrate better, and the folding of arms is so they arent fiddling during prayer.
As long as you are being disrespectful, it is totally OK not to close your eyes.

SO MANY ACTS OF SERVICE, AND ONLY A TEENY, tiny PERCENT!
LEARNING TO APPRECIATE THE ACTS OF KINDNESS AROUND US HELPS US TO SHOW KINDNESS TOWARD OTHERS. AS WE STRIVE TO BE LIKE JESUS, WE MUST BE KIND AND SERVE ONE ANOTHER!!
Showing others acts of service can not only help someone else, but it is the best form of self help!! It shows you that YOU can make a difference, and NO act of service is small.
"Love one another as Jesus loves you. Try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, For these are the things Jesus taught… Im trying to love my neighbor; I'm learning to serve my friends…"
I thought that this song that every primary student is taught, perfectly states why we need to do acts of service. As we try to be like Jesus, we follow His example. Jesus was kind to EVERYONE, and always but others before himself. He died for us!! We must show that love toward everyone that He showed for us.
Thank you all for sharing your stories! They are all so beautiful, and I see the love of Heavenly Father and Jesus reflected in every single one of them. Thanks again!

Dropping by to see what's new and saw I've been tagged. A regular act of service I have noticed is from my front door neighbors. They spend some of the Sundays at a local park where many other gather to set up food, donations and kindnesses for the homeless folks in the area who don't have anywhere to go and don't know where their next hot meal is coming from. Well, on those Sundays, they get a hot meal. I've helped out by collecting boxes of winter clothes and donating them so they can have extra clothes to wear and stay warm. I've met a lot of folks on the streets and had conversations with them and have helped them on their way, too. They are beautiful people just like the anybody else. They've just run of of luck and resources.

My wife likes "Down East" and she doesn't seem to wear immodest things. She also has these weird tops that if worn alone would be intense belly shirts, but they pretty much cover just her whole chest almost up to her neck. She wears them underneath just about everything and it is a guarantee modest outfit.

And @Backroads , you'd be surprised what kids are wearing these days! Its actually very  difficult to find mormon modest, and still stylish clothing.

My best tip - If you stay within the same color family (hues, tints, tones or shades), everything will go together so you need fewer clothes but actually have more outfit options. This way, when you do find something modest, you'll actually build a wardrobe and not just fill a closet. Other than that, when you see someone wearing something doable, ask them where they got it or pay attention to how people make adjustments (adding layers, etc).
This is an online store but you can go to the 4 different tabs at the top and just look at the outfits (and they're modest). There's a variety of styles to get inspiration from but they might also have things that might interest you. https://shop.liveyourtruth.com/

@Maureen I can see why you would be confused... its a confusing situation. When I was baptized my parents had different views of the church. Now they arent as willing to let me participate because of certain things they disagree with. They wont let me go to church anymore and they also wont allow any of my other sibs. to be baptized.
    And yes I am under 16, I am 13.
