You should always talk to your Bishop.  I've spent hours in a garage with brothers repairing the cars of members.  He'll know how to best help you.

This.  I have a list of problems I have in the Church.   I don't have any with the Church.

Particularly for new members, in my opinion.   Sometimes it can be very confusing when you receive constant praise, then assume you have a good grasp of things you really should study better.  New members often receive notoriety that isn't deserved.  Joining the Church is just the beginning but you're often looked upon as though you won some major award.
This also ties into leaders wanting callings for "power", as discussed above.  I needed a few good spiritual kicks in the nethers after being told repeatedly that I was the Golden Child.   I can't imagine why anyone would want a calling with any authority.  I keep my chin down and do my calling as best as I can, but it's draining.  I constantly feel inadequate.  I feel like I fail those who need my support the most.   I need more hours in the day.  I feel I disappoint God when I just want to strangle people I'm supposed to be serving.
That said, this post resonated with me.  It's almost like we set each other up for failure and do it with the best intentions.   I am so very grateful of the support and praise I get, but I feel like I'm just not living up to the hype.

Timcast once made a pro-abortionist eat his words.
Abortionist: A woman can control her own body.  The fetus is part of her body.  There's no denying it.
Tim: Well, what if a pregnant woman decided to take drugs throughout her pregnancy?  It's her body.  So can she do that?
A: Well, no, because at that point she's trying to kill the baby.
T: OK.  I don't really know what your position is anymore.
I was rather surprised.  The great majority of those who are all gung-ho on abortion would absolutely say she could do that.

I don't mean to speak for Grunt.  But I'll add my 2 cents.
Maybe vengeful is not the precise word for it.  It would be almost sinister.
    If we believe:
In Ex Nihilo creation.  This means that God purposefully created every single aspect of our being, good and evil. God is all knowing from the beginning to the end of time He has set up the universe in one giant, perfectly synchronous clock that will simply move the way He pre-designed it to move. Then we must conclude:
We don't really have free will.  God made us exactly as we are when we're born.  He gave us the circumstances to which we would react and by which we learn good or evil.  And we react in perfect harmony of God's predictions/desires for our eternal destiny. By our experience here which God designed, some people will go to hell.  God wills it so.  He created them for the purpose of going to hell.  This is the concept that we might call sinister. We don't believe in ex nihilo creation.  We have prophecy that tells us differently.

I probably wouldn't be a member if I hadn't heeded the advice to prayerfully act in faith and received a crystal clear answer.

And those who are "pro-choice" use backwards logic as well.   "I wouldn't kill a baby, but it's not for me to tell someone else what they can't do"

I'm much the same way, which is in part what led me to this faith.  I'm an adult convert that made a post here one day asking questions.   Now here I am.   Using this logic only, what makes more sense to me?
    1.  There is a vengeful God that created man to spend eternity worshipping Him?
    2.  There is a premortal family existence in which a loving Father created an opportunity for us to grow, learn, and become like Him for eternity?

Welcome to the forum.  To start, I don't accept the conditions you placed on responses.  That said:
I'm not really interested in arguing, but I'll answer any questions you have.   We're Christians as well.  Christ restored His Church on Earth via the Prophet Joseph Smith.  We believe In God, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost.  Accept the New Testament, Old Testament, Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price as scripture.   We believe families are eternal.  We believe the truth can be found in the Book of Mormon, and if you want to know more start reading it and schedule a lesson with your local missionaries.

    Welcome, @Maytoday!
Only one website matters, the Church's official one.  Whatever you find elsewhere may or may not be correct or consistent with what the Church teaches.
The 13 Articles of Faith might be a good place to start with what we believe - they were written by Joseph Smith, through whom the Church of Jesus Christ was restored.
As @Grunt said, the Book of Mormon is another good starting point (and, there's an app for that ).
What's to argue?  We believe what we believe.  We believe it because it is revealed by God through prophets and apostles.  Whether you understand it or see reason or logic in it won't matter - we believe what we believe.  People have been trying since the 1800s to "argue" us out of our beliefs - doesn't work.  So what is there to argue about?  If you don't understand what we're saying, OK, we'll try to explain it in different terms.  If you don't believe the things we believe, that's your right and choice, but there's still nothing to argue about.
How exactly is a religious document "proven true"?  How do you prove that Jesus Christ is the son of God?  How do you prove that he atoned for our sins and was resurrected?  How do you prove that God is real?  You can find our beliefs in our scriptures.  Every April and October, the leaders of our Church expound on what you find in said scriptures - helping us to apply these things in our lives - in a meeting we call "General Conference".  But you're not going to find us citing a creed or whatever.
If you want to take a deep dive into early Church history, you could try the Joseph Smith Papers website.
Other than all that, it might be best if you just start with whatever simple question you might have, and we'll have a go at answering.
I will say that in my experience, this Third Hour forum is the one place on the internet where you will find faithful members of the Church who support the leaders of the Church (as opposed to many other forums where you'll find a mixture of that, wolves in sheep's clothing, people who want to destroy the Church, and heaven knows who else).
Finally, perhaps @prisonchaplain can give you some tips on engaging with latter-day saints.   (Should he have time and notice this.)

As long as I had to delete this dupe, I'll use the space to post something I found concerning. Here, Sherinian celebrates a SC ruling that is not only bad law, but is literally directly counter to the Church's not-so-long-ago efforts in California in support of Proposition 8. Note his hashtags: "LoveisLove" and "MarriageEquality". Sherinian appears to be announcing to the world that homosexual unions are exactly the moral equivalent of heterosexual unions.
This is the man who now heads efforts to represent the Church to media and the world.
I trust in God, and I support my leaders. That I find it most incongruous and concerning that a man with these openly stated social beliefs was hired essentially for Church PR does not negate my trust in God or support of my leaders. But make no mistake, it's incongruous and I'm concerned.

I reserve the right to be respectfully vocal about whatever I want to be respectfully vocal about.  I think it is a bad move to hire someone who is publicly in support of things that run contrary to Heavenly Father's order.  It makes me really question what is going on over there.   It doesn't affect my faith or obedience and to be honest I don't give it any thought.

The problem with this illustration of principle is that the so-called Priesthood ban was of God. This is absolutely sure, at least to the level that God refused to rescind it as recently (at least) as David O. McKay. We may importune God as we see fit, but God is not required to do anything just because we ask it of him.
If there is a principle of the gospel of which you do not have a testimony. silent loyalty to that principle is your very best option until you gain a spiritual conviction of it.

I’m not one to complain much about the decisions of the machine that is the Church of Jesus Christ.  I may be baffled at times.  Or curious as to what the intentions are of the Lord - Brethren - or executives / administrators.
Anytime tithing funds go to pockets that appear to be fighting against the Lord makes me uneasy.
I am much more concerned about the faculty @ BYU than a communications director though.
Personally I’m not a big fan of marketing.
