  1. On Vacation! Plane leaves tomorrow! Though I did end up taking 2 meetings today.
  2. I use unix and linux products everyday. But I work and live in the technical (mostly software) world. For everyday use, I stick with unix based OS. By far the easiest and best UI. I also use Ubuntu, but I don't recommend that to a novice user. If you are familiar with KDE and terminal commands, you'll love it. So I guess I would ask, what's your use case? What are you trying to do? Just sick of Windows? For what it's worth, I avoid microsoft products like the plague. Though I'm always using the when I deploy VM's.
  3. I've quickly learned to just ignore this person.
  4. Not trying to win Discussion is always better than argument. Argument aims to find out who is right. Discussion aims to find out what is right.
  5. But that brings up another good point, I have heard of NiN. But until you said that I knew nothing about the name of the band and that it represented the murder of the Savior. That's another reason it's so tough to decide what's ok and what not in those situations. (I'm not old, quite young for my situation, I just don't follow music much).
  6. This is always a tough one. The handbook used to have strict guidelines about dress code at youth dances, but you don't want to exclude anyone. Fortunately the new handbook is different.
  7. We are in complete agreement. They are petty. But they are still complaints. And it was a quick 'off the top of my head' list. The list could be very long. And most of them would be petty.
  8. Personally I subscribe to your theory. Unfortunately I can't say that to some people.
  9. All of your thoughts on each complaint are great. Wouldn't change a thing about it. Yet it still feels like you are on the attack, I was simply stating that complaints happen.
  10. Correct, we got off topic. These examples may need less attention the the OP's examples. I was just explaining to someone that thought complaints don't really happen at all.
  11. People privately complain all the time. The deacon wasn't wearing a white shirt and he passed the sacrament! Sister X distracts me when she changes the baby's diaper in the chapel. I saw Brother X with another woman at the mall! He might be cheating... it was his sister. So many things like this are said. Trust me.
  12. They are in your Bishops office complaining.
  13. I agree 100% with all of this. Well said. This was far from the point others made though. I also think's is sad that someone would say .. "If God outlawed *insert activity or substance*, I and many others would leave." I have never heard this comment before. I guess my point was that God hasn't asked to put those things aside. Which is why I (and others) have said, when/if that day comes, we gladly will.
  14. Let's see who can get in the last word .. your turn!
  15. Thank you. Keep on keeping on. Congratulations on the win.
  16. I just think we have turned this into "who can debate the best" not, a productive Gospel discussion. Disagreements are fine but let's be reasonable.
  17. Agree 100%. But the Lord did not say caffeine will keep you out of the Temple. When that day comes, I'll join you in tossing out the Coke (though I don't drink any soda). Nor did He say toss the cheese as someone else said. When he does, I'll toss out my cheese.
  18. Some people just want to argue for the sake of being right.
  19. SMH. You can say I lost your little debate. Good job you win. To me, it's obvious you want to fight. I think you understand what I have said, you just disagree, which is fine. Not going to argue.
  20. How is this confusing? I have my opinion on something. I stated it as opinion, and made a joke about it at the same time. So to answer your question. Both.
  21. No I don't see that. I think most others understood. I admit some level of reasonable understanding was expected. I said quite the opposite. I said "One's position in the church does not change the validity, other than Prophet Seer and Revelator." - "validity" was in reference to the discussion.
  22. I've yet to respond to you because it's seems you are looking for an argument, maybe I'm wrong. Just feels this way. I thought it was clear that this was a tongue n' cheek comment. Though, I do think it's true "that no one will be left out of the Celestial Kingdom because they had a chocolate bar (caffeine), or drank Coke." .. you are correct, I cannot assure you of this. Let's all take a deep breath and smile.
  23. You are right. I only mentioned this because someone said I was wrong about so many people being offended and being judged. I was explaining that I talk to these people all the time. That it's a real problem. One's position in the church does not change the validity, other than Prophet Seer and Revelator.
  24. Right, I love the feedback! I admit that even I am hiding behind internet anonymity. I guess I am making 2 points. 1, less judging. 2, I don't think many of these examples I've raised are even counsel. I keep referring to drinking Coke, admittedly because it's the easiest one to discuss. Everyone pretty much agrees that caffeine in the literal sense is not against the word of wisdom. Chocolate, medicine .. you get it. But it's wise to avoid because it's unhealthy. I can assure you that no one will be left out of the Celestial Kingdom because they had a chocolate bar (caffeine), or drank Coke. Taking me back to my point, judging on people that are not even doing things wrong. I'm sorry but I have to correct you on Keys. Having a calling means having responsibilities; holding keys means presiding over and directing the work of the priesthood. For instance, a ward Young Men president works under the direction of the bishop, who holds keys over the ward, but the Young Men president’s responsibilities do not include presiding over the priesthood, so he does not receive keys. The keys to direct the work of the Aaronic Priesthood in the ward belong to the bishop, the teachers quorum president, and the deacons quorum president. I am not saying people should or should not watch R-rated movies. Nonetheless, I also don't feel we can pass judgment on exactly what type of movies can draw someone further from Christ. Especially by using some arbitrary and flawed rating system. I am saying don't judge others for doing something that you personally disagree with, Especially when it's so trivial. I never said those words. Appreciate your 2 cents, it was worth a whole dollar!
  25. And you are right to do this. Great attitude and I applaud you. Unfortunately some people are not so strong and can't easily ignore others.
