  1. No call out, Lehi! Jerusalem will never fall! I've read those words somewhere before...
  2. Don't let it trouble your mind. As a mother, if you had more than one child, would you not love each and every one of your children? Would not each of your children be happy to have you as a mother? Would not your children love to grow up with each other (if they did so in love and kindness). Of course! It will be the same in heaven. All worthy women will be married to a worthy husband, or else they cannot enjoy marriage and family in that realm. If it means sharing a husband, so be it. Also, in heaven, every god will have the ability to spend all the time needed with each and every spouse and child, unlike here, where a person can only be in one place at one time. If this is too much to wrap your head around, just put it on a shelf, and God will make it known to you some time in the future.
  3. Read the Bible with every Joseph Smith Translation change included. It will make alot more sense and feel inspired, like the Book of Mormon.
  4. Stay active in the Church. Serve a mission. Listen to the Prophet. Be prepared for a call-out by the Prophet. Heed the call when it comes. You will gather many to Zion. If you choose to stay in Babylon, you will miss gathering to Zion.
  5. Hugh Nibley points out that we know a great deal about the 4th-5th centuries AD, when the philosophically minded fathers of the newly legalized Christian Church assembled the Bible--we have their letters written to each other. One of the main persons involved in corrupting the Bible was Jerome. The favorite means of corrupting the Bible was leaving things out--which is why the Book of Mormon says that many plain and precious parts were lost, and why the brass plates of Laban were said to be more numerous than what we have today. Of course the brass plates consisted of the Old Testament up to the time of Lehi, so many parts of the Old Testament were lost even before the Bible was assembled in the 5th cent. AD. They left out the use of the word "plan", the plan of salvation, pre-mortal life, etc. They liked the Greek idea of pre-destination. They did not like many books that are apocryphal, which were left out. Enoch got a couple of verses in the Bible. Our Pearl of Great Price gives a much fuller summary of Enoch's ministry. In some places the text was altered. For example, I believe John 4:15 was altered: "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." The "God is a Spirit" was inserted by uninspired compilers. The Joseph Smith translation restores the text to what Jesus actually said: "For unto such hath God promised his Spirit. And they who worship him, must worship in spirit and in truth." This fits exactly with what Jesus was teaching in the whole sermon. And it does not teach a false doctrine that God is a spirit. God is an exalted Man with a tangible body, not a body-less spirit. But the 4th century compilers wanted to believe in Greek philosophy, that God is immaterial. so they altered the verse in John. A good book is "Apostasy from the Divine Church" by James Barker. This book was the text for the Melchizedek Priesthood Quoroms 1952-4.
  6. So zil, do you like drawing? So do I.

David, I just doodle silly things to post on forums.  And sometimes I Zentangle, or sketch rough maps of worlds for novels in progress.  But I don't think any of that is good enough to call "drawing". :)

  7. I have thought, why would God fill up the universe with outer darknesses of rebellious spirits that live forever that way? Wasteful. No, God will return the rebellious back to a chaotic, elemental state, and they shall be remade into other spirits, in another probation, another possibility for obedience and glory.
  8. Yes, the Scriptures I cited seem to bear this out. God wastes nothing. He will keep purging his children until they become glorious and add honor to God--whether in this probation, or another. Thus God expands in glory forever and ever! Those children of God who become obedient to the laws of exaltation become like God, and are gods themselves. They are glorious, and God is exalted by having such progeny adding honor and glory to his family line and his name. Glory upon glory, kingdom upon kingdom with no end!
  9. We do not believe in annihilation of matter. Matter cannot be destroyed. But it can be returned to its elemental state of chaos. I am led to believe that those who go to outer darkness, including Satan, will at some point be destroyed and become elemental spirit "particles". To be purified, and reborn into spirits of one kind or another. Recycled. God wastes nothing. The rebellious, who persist in fighting God and denying the Holy Ghost, will one day be cast back into the mill, like the marred clay vessel, to be refined and made into a new vessel. 2 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. 3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. 4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. 5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. 7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; (Old Testament | Jeremiah 18:2 - 7) 3 Retaining all power, even to the destroying of Satan and his works at the end of the world, and the last great day of judgment, which I shall pass upon the inhabitants thereof, judging every man according to his works and the deeds which he hath done. (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 19:3)
  10. It's nice to see women who appreciate the patriarchal order as a blessing, when administered properly. God's ways exalt the human family.
