That's a mystery for HR to deal with-- you don't have to.  Just hand the whole mess over to them: this type of stuff is literally part of their job and they are much better equipped to deal with it than you.

I found an interesting article that looks at what the bible teaches about homosexuality. I know you've been continually asking for bible verses that say one way or the other. I found this to be fairly well written and certainly holding integrity to the intent of the biblical messaging on the topic and not disengenuously trying to reframe biblical passages into our culture of calling evil good and good evil.
    https://www.pccmonroe.org/what-the-bible-really-says-about-homosexuality.html
As for disregarding any prophetic teaching on homosexuality as something that will one day fade away like the priesthood ban, it really is important to understand that homosexuality has always been condemned in every dispensation and has never been mentioned as something that will change. However, just as the Law of Moses was prophesied to return to a higher law one day and the gospel in general became available to gentiles and priesthood become available to more than just the levites, the priesthood ban in this dispensation was always understood to be temporary. I will reiterate that no where in the scriptures or teachings of modern prophets has there ever been anything suggesting that one day what God has warned against as sin will one day be acceptable. This is like Zeezrom trying to trick people by asking Alma and Amulek if God will save people "in" their sins - He won't, it is contrary to justice, but He will save us "from" our sins if we allow Him to change us. This salvation from sin is not only in the sense of being redeemed in the afterlife, but actually being strengthened against sins in this life. The Lord promises that, "weak things will become strong..."
This doesn't necessarily mean someone struggling with same sex attraction will no longer have same sex attraction, but it may for some people. I would posit that most likely people will be strengthened to resist acting on the temptation and as they let virtue garnish their thoughts unceasingly they stop having lustful thoughts and find great joy in other areas of life. Believe it or not there is much more in life to find happiness from than merely sexual satisfaction.

Elder Oaks marriage choices are hardly relevant to your argument. Look at the membership and see how many never married (straight) women there are who accept chastity to remain in good standing in the church.

I am having an issue at work as I am expected to teach about transexuals and their rights.  I have stated that I will not teach that tutorial but the college can provide someone to stand in on my behalf if its essential to the tutorial program. Apparently I can't do this.
I am also being challenged as I set an assignment which involved designing a fitness plan for a specific person and pointing out that there are basic physiological differences for males and females (and ages).  Yes I have pointed out I am just stating scientific FACTS.

This is your opinion and experience; that's fine. However some of us have different experiences. I know a long term, faithful, temple recommend holding, gay member. He is well respected and a huge contributor to my old ward. He lives the law of chastity, THE SAME as all the long term single members.  I assume he can not be the only one. Could it be that we just don't hear from these members as they don't have a public agenda to push?

No idea what the statistics are....but looking round my female heavy ward would generally agree.

However 2 weeks ago I had the exact opposite (Friday night after work so maybe that's the difference) and had 3 sisters and nearly 20 men. Last week was stake session and again more men than women.  Will see what the ratio is tonight and see if there is a pattern emerging.

Weaponized compassion is a WEAPON to brow beat people into submission.  Which is exactly what you are attempting... We have compassion, we have charity that is why when we see our brother or sister in Christ who is struggling with sin we warn them away.  It shows a total lack of compassion and charity to encourage them to engage in sin.

I'm reasonably certain that the Apostles and 1st Presidency don't think in terms of "We're doing plan A, because it'll really get rid of some of our useless dead weight."   Pretty sure they think in terms of "We're doing plan A, because it'll help us forward the work of the gospel, and increase individual discipleship."
This church isn't about grouping people into wheat and chaff.  It's about gathering as much wheat as possible, and everyone is potential wheat.

I would be FAR from upset (my reading is very rarely textbooks for my subjects its mostly research papers or government produced documents). You would not be emailing me asking me to explain basic concepts and would go away and study anything you needed to. I do explain that all students in each class can get a 2.1 or a 1st for each module but that will require reading around the subject and having a knowledge of current industry practices and research.

This is because the modern education system is designed to beat people into compliant cubicle-dwellers who do what they're told without question.  11-year-olds haven't been completely beaten into compliance yet.

We often hear the inspiring, faith-promoting stories of meetinghouses (or temples) being spared from this or that natural calamity. Perhaps that is true in some cases, but I have often wondered if such stories do more harm to people's faith than good. I think those stories set the unrealistic expectation that God will always protect from harm his people's belongings. Of course, that's silly, but it seems like a lot of people believe that. This might be an opportunity to remind ourselves that God allows his people to suffer loss, and that such loss doesn't make God less loving or the Church less true and authentic.

I am much like you in that the older I get the more I realize that we all have our own demons that we have to contend with and it is not fair in the least for us to judge others based on our experiences.
10 years ago, I was so much more judgemental.  I definitely couldn't see the beam in my own eye.
I know I would be scared to death if I were a young woman pregnant, no husband and massive fog clouding my future with very little hope.
Cudos to you for being understanding.

KScience reacted to NeedleinA in Would you date or marry a woman who had an abortion?
    Sure Carb.
Over the years I've slowly and stubbornly learned that individuals honestly all come from different backgrounds and upbringings. I've had to learn that the standards, morals, values and expectations that I was taught may have been almost completely void in their lives prior to learning about the gospel. I've had to learn that the love, protection and blessings I received growing up may have been completely void their lives also. For too long in my life, I erroneously tried to hold others up to how 'I' was raised.
While I was a squeakin deacon, had FHE, went to church - my wife was being sexually abused by her alcoholic father.
While I had Church leaders who helped teach me right form wrong, she had no such outside support.
While I was on my mission, my wife was married briefly to someone who abused her in a variety of ways. It was from this marriage, as she was trying to flee it that the abortion took place.
I guess what I'm saying is I've learned that I can't hold others to my standard - for some, the introduction to the gospel may be the first ray of light/love/direction they ever have experienced in their life. I 'now' find it extremely hard to ever judge pre-baptism /pre-gospel actions.
Had my wife told me things in our younger years, I know I wouldn't have been mature enough to have dealt with them. I was too ridged in my views, too narrow in my experiences.
