Your theoretical physicist friend is full of...something stinky. Based on what you wrote above, I'd say there is an above-average chance that he doesn't actually know much about physics at all.
In science, there is no "Multiverse Theory". That's a comic book thing. At best, the "multiverse" concept is a metaphysics idea used to try to account for the "Big Bang". It doesn't have anything to do with quantum mechanics.

@DennisTate we actually spell it Latter-day Saint, and the correct abbreviation is LDS Church. No periods (.) used at all. Latter-day Saints try to apply the 13 Articles of Faith ~  Pay attention to 11 especially.
1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Latter Day Saints seem to try to apply this basic principle to their outreach more than many other Christians do.........
    Mat 5:25
Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

Not at all addressing the topic, but it is interesting to me that this is the only passage I know of that is quoted or cited in all five standard works: It's obviously in Malachi (Old Testament). It's in Luke (New Testament), and in 3 Nephi (Book of Mormon), Joseph Smith–History (Pearl of Great Price), and, not once, not twice, not even five, but six times in the Doctrine and Covenants.
    'Tseems important.
In fact, it seems to be the whole focus of the Restoration: getting the family of Adam sealed together as an offering to the Lord.

An interesting statement. String Theory, Superstring Theory, M-Theory. Whenever we speak about these things, we speak about concepts, assumed theoretical constructs. The only problem I would see is that our mind is not able to understand those higher dimensional concepts  (and I wouldn't call them "spacetime" or "field" any more, there wasn't any name, and it certainly would depend some kind of a super universe or multiverse), and mathematics might be a fine instrument, and it's easy to assume there are more than three or four or eleven dimensions and create some mathematical proof, but how could anyone understand it? Is mathematics and theoretical physics the key that might lead us out of our limited imagination? Or would it lead us into a nightmare we can't even imagine yet? A nightmare we won't wake up and never escape  from...?

Why will it not be done by Jewish Effort?  Everything in the Bible indicates that it will be built by the Jews.  Ironically, the two prophets themselves are indicated to be Jewish.  In today's climate, that could be interpreted to make sense as a native Jew born in Israel would probably be one of the only ones able to get away with such actions (and that's only a probably).
I could see it as being done by either LDS or Judaic effort.  I don't see why it has to be LDS.  I may be missing a lot of things though and there may be someplace where someone explicitly said something akin to what you are saying.

This will happen when God wants it to happen, and support or opposition from any group of people whatsoever is irrelevant.
In a more practical vein, Jews do not practice biblical Judaism. They practice Rabbinic Judaism. The Levitical laws pertaining to to ritual purity for priests and sacrifices in the Temple have, as much as is practical, been converted to Oral Law commandments for the masses or reinterpreted as applying to all Jews, not just the kohanim, the high priests. The home has replaced the Temple as the holy place for those commandments. There is no actual need or purpose for a Temple. Prayer and repentance has replaced animal sacrifice as a means of atonement, and Judaism ever going back to animal sacrifice is very improbable.

I suppose that is possible, but I believe this prophesy is fulfilled individually by living a gospel-filled life rather than from modern NDE of a relatively few other people. In other words, we see the things of God more plain by becoming godly:. 1Cor 13:
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
    Thanks, -Wade Englund-

My understanding is that the mainline LDS position is that the LDS Church will be the ones spearheading the reconstruction of the temple foreseen by Ezekiel.  But seeing as how the Church appears to have no immediate plans to bring that to pass, I say the Jews are welcome to try it if they can.  If it brings about political instability leading to the end times — so much the better, as far as I’m concerned (I’m feeling a bit misanthropic at the moment, so apologies if I sound a bit flippant).

    Thanks, Dennis!
There may be truth in some in Near-Death experiences, and they certainly be fantastic and impressive, but I'd still say they're not a reliable source of truth, especially since the majority of the time there's no way to verify without doubt that they're true, despite what we feel/think/believe might be true. (I'm assuming that's the point you're trying to press! Please correct me if I'm wrong. )

I disagree with the picture painted by Cecil's death experience. Much more than a passive state of doing nothing and not moving on, Hell is a state of active hatred and cruelty towards each other. A person in Hell would not be peacefully rocking and ruminating. Peace is of God. Hell is absence of God and so can have no peace.
"Standing before [Christ’s] judgment, all of them, men, angels, and demons, crying out in one voice, shall say: ‘Just is your judgment!’ And the righteousness of that cry will be apparent in the recompense made to each. To those who have done well, everlasting enjoyment shall be given; while to the lovers of evil shall be given eternal punishment. The unquenchable and unending fire awaits these latter, and a certain fiery worm which does not die and which does not waste the body but continually bursts forth from the body with unceasing pain. No sleep will give them rest; no night will soothe them; no death will deliver them from punishment; no appeal of interceding friends will profit them" (Against the Greeks 3 [A.D. 212]). (https://www.catholic.com/tract/the-hell-there-is)

(I'll also mention that next part of the near-death experience has now journeyed off the edge... God destroyed Satan? There is no Devil? I don't think I'm alone in denying that; the LDS, although they believe the nature of the Devil is different, still believe he exists. It's also a folly to ask a person what they would do and believe that their decision is the answer; a person is not God and they lack the knowledge and wisdom to understand Him and His decisions.)

I'd also argue that Dr. Howard storm's desire to be cast into Hell was not honorable, although it certainly seems intended to sound so, since to desire Hell is to desire exclusion from God and is thus a selfish wish that lacks love for and trust in Our Lord God.
While I think near-death experiences can open the door to faith, God doesn't want anyone to stop in the entryway. We have to go inside, venture deeper, discover His truths, His instructions, His Will. Without doing that, we won't learn anything more of Him. To know God is not just to know His love for us... we need to journey towards a deeper love for Him.

    God bless!

DennisTate Much appreciated.......  I am kind of in a state of near awe these past few days......
because I was praying as to whether or not I should be baptized as an L.D.S. and.....
I got clear guidance in the form of.............  I now know that if I were baptized as L.D.S. I would decrease my ability to reach out to ex-L.D.S..... and assist them to come to the place of Shalom / peace of mind toward their first love church.......
as I personally have came to a place of Shalom regarding the Worldwide Church of God that I am an ex-member of.
I suspect that I would decrease my ability to reach ex-L.D.S. by seventy to ninety five percent....... because if I got baptized as L.D.S.......
almost none of them would listen to me....... but as an ex-WWCG and Messianic Gentile.... i still have an open door to them..... and
ex - Pentecostals... .and ex- Roman Catholics.... and ex- Jehovah's Witnesses.... and many others whose
philosophy at this time is largely directed as a revolt.... against the church that they once were so involved in!

I so thank all of you for not only your thoughtful prayers... but obviously you pray for the other members here......
I joined an ex-Mormon group on Facebook and Wow.... but the atmosphere was tense......
even when I quoted NDE accounts?!
Many ex-L.D.S. are in a state....... that is not good at all..... and I know that I easily could have went there myself.....
but for the grace of G-d?!

I have a ministry in mind that could over the coming decade or two result in surely dozens.... if not hundreds of ex-LDS returning to
being able to attend L.D.S. services...... (at least on occasion).

The method of my doing this will be to inform them that near death experiencers.... .who are LDS.... often return to their bodies.....
of course to assist their children and grandchildren...... but also.... significantly to get move involved in baptisms for the deceased and for
research into geneologies........... in order to get baptized for more of the previously deceased.
In my opinion.... this is the outside of the Book of Mormon verification that many ex-L.D.S. have been wanting.......
to come to a place of Shalom/ peace..... toward their first love L.D.S. church?!

God didn't choose a person who dated a porn star.  Rather, He chose somebody who persecuted Christians.
It is always wise not to assume who God will and will not call to His service unless the call is made through Priesthood Authority.  Especially when we are talking about the President of the USA who has the power to raze the Philippines at whim.
