“On Sunday night (April 26, 1834) the Prophet called on all who held the Priesthood to gather into the little log school house they had there. It was a small house, perhaps 14 feet square. But it held the whole of the Priesthood of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who were then in the town of Kirtland, and who had gathered together to go off in Zion’s camp. That was the first time I ever saw Oliver Cowdery, or heard him speak; the first time I ever saw Brigham Young and Heber C. Kimball, and the two Pratts [Orson and Parley], and Orson Hyde and many others. There were no Apostles in the Church then except Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. When we got together the Prophet called upon the Elders of Israel with him to bear testimony of this work. Those that I have named spoke, and a good many that I have not named, bore their testimonies.
“When they got through the Prophet said, ‘Brethren I have been very much edified and instructed in your testimonies here tonight, but I want to say to you before the Lord, that you know no more concerning the destinies of this Church and kingdom than a babe upon its mother’s lap. You don’t comprehend it.’ I was rather surprised. He said ‘it is only a little handful of Priesthood you see here tonight, but this Church will fill North and South America—it will fill the world.’
“Among other things he said, ‘it will fill the Rocky Mountains. There will be tens of thousands of Latter-day Saints who will be gathered in the Rocky Mountains, and there they will open the door for the establishing of the Gospel among the Lamanites, who will receive the Gospel and their endowments and the blessings of God. This people will go into the Rocky Mountains; they will there build temples to the Most High. They will raise up a posterity there, and the Latter-day Saints who dwell in these mountains will stand in the flesh until the coming of the Son of Man. The Son of Man will come to them while in the Rocky Mountains.” (Wilford Woodruff, Conference Report, April 1898, p. 57.)

With us having been energy independent in the last four years, we could have just let the middle east rot and deal with their own problems. Now Biden is hell bent on making us dependent on them again. He is outside his mind. We need to activate Section 5 of the Constitution before it is too late and we join other nations on the ash heap of history.

Probably not be as big a problem if the marines took care of the people behind it like they did the pirates of Tripoli. Send in the troops and eliminate them with a high degree of precision and I bet future hackers will think twice.

Also, it cuts down on the media photo-ops for gender based agitators trying to draw attention to their cause by storming into (or visibly being denied entry to) priesthood meetings—Ordain Women, transgender folk, that kind of thing.

I have felt this too, just today I was really down and the only thing I want at this point is the ability to go to the temple, just to get some spiritual relief.

Everyone is always expecting some coming anti-Christ figure that will lead an attack on Israel just as the second coming of Christ is at hand. This will not happen. The revelations are symbolic and the Lord will come as a thief in the night. There will be no world changing warning. We are counseled to be prepared at all times for the coming of Christ. It would be wise for us not to put binders on the hands of the Lord, prepare for a long and fruitful life, stop worrying about and trying to predict the end times. Wars will come and go, just as they always have.

I remember as a kid the chapel being a lot more reverent than it is now. Welcoming new people etc. can be done in the foyer, but once someone comes into the chapel they should quite down and be respectful of the reverent atmosphere that should be there.

Why is it that every other religion treats the sanctuary of their church as a sacred place for silent reflection and worship? But we treat ours as a social hall to catch up on how each others lives are going? Honestly, I want to come to church and be spiritually recharged, not listen to noisy chit-chat. If people want to catch up they should do it in the foyer.

Sadly, both of my two oldest daughters have left the church and no longer believe in God. But, they do know that my wife and I love them. My oldest son seems to want to go on a mission and is pretty devoted to his testimony. I am at a loss with my younger son who is 15 and has secretly been going to LGBTQ club. So, I really feel alone with our ward, some of the members are really good people, but they are so busy, they have no time for friendship really. We have a good bishop, but he frankly seems rather burned out with trying to keep the ward afloat. I don't know if it is really worth it anymore and I wonder if I am wasting my time even trying anymore. I guess I am just doomed to a life of struggle and disappointment.
I appreciate your comment though, and the time it took for you to write it.

Any advice for those of us whose children are all becoming atheists because our ward is rather elitist and the teens snub our kids for being in the "poor part of the ward?" Yes, one of my girls actually had another girl say that too her. She also once bought a shirt at DI that she really was excited about because she used her own money. Her "friend" in the ward said, "we don't shop at DI because my mom said, that is where people go that are too lazy to get a good paying job."
Frankly, if I did not already have a testimony I would probably be at the least and agnostic.

I may have over stated my opinion and should have said, They have skipped too many of the testing protocols for me to feel comfortable with getting the shot. I know the Prophet has received the shot, but please keep in mind that he is in the age group that is the most in danger from this virus. I believe I have the right to choose for myself whether to receive the so called vaccine and I choose to not do it. My wife has gotten and two of my adult children have too.
I feel it is not what I need or have to do at this time. thank you very much. I am frankly very concerned about the potential long term risks compared to the short term, possible, benefits. Also, there is a lot of shaming going on right now in our society regarding the shot and masks, and I think people should learn to mind their own business.
