  1. Because I usually get my questions answered and so then I just LIKE them
  2. What about Mary being white? Is possible that Jesus really is a white Jesus?
  3. Why does the book of Mormon seem like white skin color is supreme? It even claims Mary was white and the nephites were white when he know that can't be. If Mary was white then Jesus might be too. And Christ's countenance was white. And God seems to enable the nephites to be racists by giving the lamanites a "skin of blackness" so they wouldn't be "enticing" to the white Nephites. Below are verses from the Book of Mormon. The cancel culture might get to this some day. 13And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the great city of Jerusalem, and also other cities. And I beheld the city of Nazareth; and in the city of Nazareth I beheld a virgin, and she was exceedingly fair and white. 15And I beheld the Spirit of the Lord, that it was upon the Gentiles, and they did prosper and obtain the land for their inheritance; and I beheld that they were white, and exceedingly fair and beautiful, like unto my people before they were slain. 21And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them. 15And their curse was taken from them, and their skin became white like unto the Nephites; 25And it came to pass that Jesus blessed them as they did pray unto him; and his countenance did smile upon them, and the light of his countenance did shine upon them, and behold they were as white as the countenance and also the garments of Jesus; and behold the whiteness thereof did exceed all the whiteness, yea, even there could be nothing upon earth so white as the whiteness thereof.(this might be Christ's glory?) 30And when Jesus had spoken these words he came again unto his disciples; and behold they did pray steadfastly, without ceasing, unto him; and he did smile upon them again; and behold they were white, even as Jesus.(more glory?)
  4. Was reading about what happens if a blessing is not fulfilled. And that even an Apostle can get it wrong and that we don't always say God's will. It kind of makes you wonder, if an Apostle can't get it right, what makes you think that I can. It's discouraging to think that most people don't say or do the will of God, and you want to say, "what's the point of praying?" What's the point of praying for protection when people still get hurt when they pray? I went a long time without praying and I didn't get hurt. Because you know, God's will. He's just going to do what He wants regardless. Statistically speaking, you're bound to have a 'fulfilled' blessing. If I throw a hundred knives in the air, all at once, there's going to be at least one--but not limited to--fall blade first into the ground. You see what I'm saying? A person will be 'miraculously' healed at the same rate as someone who receives a blessing. Atheist are miraculously healed without believing sometimes. Not trying to be negative but honest with my feelings that I have always held in. Anyways, if you feel like you can say something to enlighten me, go ahead. And I love scriptural examples if you can.
  5. Here's what she said: " I have several questions for you. 1. What is your understanding of what a “prophet” is and the word “prophecy” ? 2. What are the roles of the prophets based on the bible? 3. If someone comes to you today and tells you he/she is a prophet sent by God to give you a “word”, what tests do you apply to determine if that person is indeed a “prophet”. 4. What do you need a prophet for when we have the full counsel of God in the bible and the Holy Spirit is given to a believer as The Teacher and Christ speaking to you and is mediating between you and God? 5. Paul said in 1 Cor 2:16 “For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” What does the prophet knows that you do not when the bible says,we have the mind of Christ?" Your responses will be greatly appreciated.
  6. Wilford Woodruff and others were attacked by the powers of darkness while they were in London. They were saved when "three holy messengers [came] into the room and filled the room with light. They were dressed in temple clothing. They laid their hands upon our heads and we were delivered."
  7. Recently I've been studying a little bit on Calvinism. And some of that theology is tempting to believe in but then most of it is grotesque and satanic. For example the good part that is actually tempting to believe in is 'God is in control' but do LDS actually believe this 'cause it seems to infringe upon agency. Another one is God give me all the good things that I have, and all the bad things are because of God because he's trying to teach me things. this is tempting to believe because we LDS teach this already but I have always been confused by it because how can God do this and respect our agency? How can God's plan have his particular outcome without controlling everything? And this is why it's tempting to believe in some of Calvinism. This would actually help me be more grateful day to day because God 'programmed' it to happen to me. The bad thing that I hate about Calvinism is that God is like an author who writes a book and we are his characters and he decides every aspect of our life and the outcome of our life and we have no choice in the matter. Also Calvinism makes it sound like God created robots and programmed some to love him and worship him and to come unto him and programmed others to go to hell, be bad , murder, rape etc. God didn't create robots! It's like me creating a robot wife and programming it to love me and to do certain things for me. That's sad. I would appreciate your thoughts perhaps share some scripture to support your opinions.
  8. I am friends with James E. Faust nephew and he has always told me that Bruce R. McConkie said that there was progression between kingdoms and that in an old priesthood manual or Sunday school manual that it used to say that. But the church removed it and my friend asked why and Bruce r McMonkie said that it shouldn't have been revealed just yet. There's something in the doctrine and covenants that supports progression between kingdoms and I can't remember where it's at but roughly it says that celestial beings will minister to the lower kingdoms. Now the question is is why are they ministering unto the lower kingdoms if their fate is sealed? if they're ministering to the lower kingdoms they're probably teaching them something. And if they are learning something they're progressing. Progressing where? The logical conclusion would be progressing to the the celestial kingdom. You can only go up in degrees when you are learning. I think this is interesting that you bring this up. I was wondering if my friend was misinformed.
  9. I'm talking to this Christian online and it's not confrontational or anything so I just keep talking to him. He points out that because Christ can forgive sin without baptism that baptism is not necessary. And I am stumped on how to answer this. I feel like it's actually a dumb question but I just don't know how to respond to him respectfully. any ideas? Thanks for your time!
  10. What if Joseph Smith had a PhD instead of a 3rd grade education and finished the BoM in two years? What would our testimonies be like?
  11. I feel like the scriptures teach a lot about how miracles were instant, how healings were instant. Christ walked around healing people instantly, and in the Book of Mormon peoples were sanctified instantly changed instantly excetera excetera. This is one thing that I hate about the scriptures, is that they create high expectations for how God heals us so we get disappointed when we're not healed right away. When today, we hear very few stories about people instantly being heald from their ailments. I'm a guy that struggles with addiction and have for years and I've been on and off and I always wondered why God can't heal me instantly, he did so for so many other people as the scriptures show. Can anyone enlighten me and show me through the scriptures that God doesn't always heal you right away and that eventually he will if you keep believing and acting?
  12. James E. Faust's nephew, who I'm friends with, told me the Ancient of days already happened in 1995 under Howard W. Hunter. You can find in church history from John Taylor to Orson Pratt saying that when this day happened, very few members of the church would know about it.
