I’d suggest introducing children to God and Jesus Christ rather than to religion.

I should have added a P.S. - I was devout Catholic who got married to an inactive LDS... fully expected him to become Catholic as he was attending Catholic Church service with me... I got baptized LDS 4 years later, sealed to my husband in the temple a year after that.

Hi @AbramM !  I'm an LDS Christian extremely happily married to a Baptist/evangelical dude.   I also very regularly attend non-LDS-Christian churches (cause I'm a nerd that way).
When it comes to being married and raising a family, most important question to ask here is not about "which pew shall our butts warm Sunday morning", but rather it is "what Truths shall we teach our children and practice in our homes?"
LDS Christians and Protestant Christians are both Christians and agree on the most important things (Christ, His atonement), but have different beliefs on other things (such as LDS believing in eternal marriage, priesthood power, and continuing revelation).   For example, LDS Christians believe that a marriage covenant (when sealed by priesthood power and both parties embrace Christ) is for eternity-- you shall be husband & wife forever and your children sealed to you.  Protestant denominations declare that all marriages & other bonds are dissolved upon death.  Your marriage would not yet be sealed with that eternal priesthood power.  Shall you teach your children the eternal or temporary importance of these bonds?
Another example:  shall you teach your children that the Heavens are open (mommy's view), that they are closed (daddy's view), or that mommy & daddy have different beliefs on this?  Shall a child be baptized right when they are born (as is the practice for some Protestants) or shall they have to accept the Gospel & be of age first (LDS Christians and some Protestant views)?  Which books of scripture shall you teach your family out of (LDS cannon includes more that 66 book Protestant Bible)?
Focus on the most important things first (what Truths shall we teach our children) and reach a common ground.  Don't worry about all the stuff that totally does not matter (like music and sermon style).

Just a thought...consider how comfortable you are when you see Xmas during the Christmas season.
If you support the notion of not taking Christ out of Christmas, it’s only logical you’d support not taking Christ out of the name of His Church.
But even more important than the Church’s name is how its members think of themselves.  Do we really know whose we are?  That we were bought for a price?  If so, why would we ever react in any manner other than enthusiastically to an invitation to always have Christ on our lips, in our minds, and in our hearts.

As I’ve communed with God, I’ve felt clear direction that the Church provides the best combination of environment and understanding/doctrine to maximize my devotion and discipleship.
It also gives me a wonderful forum and structure within which I can serve God’s children and my brothers and sisters of all faiths.

At the risk of being overly simplistic, your posts come across to me as “sharing” and not “preaching,” intended to help, not condemn or provoke.  For that reason, I read them and appreciate your perspective.

Go gently on the poor author.  She's afflicted by the same thing that has afflicted many of us at one time: youthful idealism mixed with zeal, light on wisdom and experience.

If you can get past the breathless world-saving, it's actually a pretty cool article.  Seems to be well-sourced.  I love me a good linked-up article.

The scriptures teach that all will confess God’s judgments are just.  Thus, while we can spend time speculating on how we, and others might be judged, we can take comfort in the promise that at the time of judgment we will agree that not only God’s judgment of us is just, but his judgment of all others as well.

Yep.  I got disowned by my entire family.  There's only one solution - you can't control what your brother does.  You can only control what you do.  Therefore, you can also only realize expectations from what you do since it is the thing that you have control over.  The first thing to do, in my opinion, is to rid yourself of any expectations from your brother.  Rather, simply continue to find ways to reach out to him to tell him you love him and that you miss him because he is funny if that is what you desire.  Don't expect him to respond.  You need to place your satisfaction in your ability to tell him you love him rather than his ability to acknowledge the sentiment.  Make sense?
And let me just take this opportunity to express my distaste for this Social-Media-inspired "Get rid of toxic people" mantra.  If you only include desirable people in your world, then your influence will only reach already desirable people and you will have zero influence on those people that needs help becoming desirable.  In my opinion, "getting rid of toxic people" is simply "My cup is full and I don't have the capacity to help others".  I find that the more we think our cup is too full, the more we need to cultivate the energy to serve those who most need the service.  And in the service of "toxic people", we can't control what they do, but we do have full control of how we react to them.  But hey, that's just me.

Channel.  Invite one of them to come in for the last 5 minutes of each Ward Council meeting to provide a spiritual thought on a scripture you’ve assigned along with a suggestion on how the Council/Ward might better live the principle set out in the scripture.
Then when approached in the hallway with an ad hoc suggestion, you can kindly suggest they consider whether they want to share that the next time they give a thought in WC.
Then prepare to marvel at their ability to weave au gratin potatoes into whatever scripture you assign them. 😇

And remind me what, other than perceived power, worldly recognition, and embarrassing salaries makes being the CEO of Fortune 500 a desirable position?

I try to take the approach of enthusiastically embracing Prophetic direction without expecting to fully understand God’s purpose in providing that direction before I begin applying/living it.
Thus my prayers regarding such directions are along the lines of,  Dear God as I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically abide by this new counsel and direction,  please prompt me as I do so to see they divine purposes and hand in this.
My experience has been that the wisdom and purpose of new direction is much more easily seen and understood as it is experienced.

I think the answer @Fether provided to the OP was spot on, so I’m ready to move on.
In fact, I’d suggest that if 2RM had understood the depth and breadth of that response there would have been no follow up, since the follow up seems to be an invitation to speculate on who will be closest to God, akin to the unhealthy debate among the apostles about seating proximity to the Savior.
I choose to pass on that invitation.

Not to interrupt your spirited debate with TFP but... I just want to point out the fallacy of this statement.  This is only true in families where children have no connection with their parents.  In Asian households, it is customary for parents to give their entire life's work to their children - work to the bone to get the children a fine education, nice things, nice clothes, and even the family business.  The children values it because IT IS THEIR PARENT'S LIFE'S WORK and they want to give honor to that sacrifice.  They do the same thing for their children - give their all to make the next generation just that little bit better than theirs.

If Christ were to invite you to sell all your possessions, give the proceeds to the poor, and join Him in His work (He’s been known to do that), would you do so happily.
Regardless of how we’re doing temporally, that’s always a good question to ask ourselves to evaluate how we’re doing spiritually.
