Hello Lady. First, it would do you well to know that attraction is nothing more than a chemical reaction to make animals reproduce. It may it you hard now, but it will slowly fade away until you won't feel not even the slightly sign of attraction to your husband. So becareful, Choose well, focus on things that matter such as inteligence, this one won't fade.
And you can feel love for almost everyone, this quality is developed over a certain period of time living with the chosen one. But if you choose someone merely because he or she is "good looking", chances are your marriage is going to be pretty sad.
Btw, i just want to say that you re not an animal, you are rational, so don't let attraction ( aka chemical reaction ) decide for you.
If you choose someone based on good qualities ( the quality i most value in a girl is inteligence for example haha)you 'll probably be fine.

I’m not even convinced retention rate is a measure of “success”. That is obviously the goal, but souls are not statistics, and we have little control over agency.

@Serviteur du seigneur - I have pondered for a while a possible response.  But there are some serious problems with my initial opinion - so I am not sure how to approach you.  Also I tend to come across rather cold - most likely because I am somewhat cold.  But being cold is not my only intent.  Sometimes in life it is necessary to see "things" in a different perspective.   And so I will begin - a different perspective.
In all your discussions - it seems to me that you only see your side and interpretation.  Mostly you are concerned that girls do not see the "real" you.  I have traveled a great deal and seldom have I met active Saints to be so shallow.  My impression is that something about you is being hidden as though it is some dark secret you do not want anyone to know.   I think this happens when someone sees all that is possible to be negative to be outside of them.  Lots of saintly ladies marry men that have not served a mission - and a great number even marry men that are not even members of the church.
I cannot prove a thing because I do not know you - except what I see on this forum.  But what I see is that you clearly place all the blame of the women that will not date you.  I am suggesting that if all the single lades you meet in the church do not want a relationship with you - that the mission thing could be the excuse and not the reason.  I could be wrong - but you are posting all this on a forum where no one know two things about you and all that they can see - you have complete control.  Which means if you have something to hide - you would have no problem doing so.  Somewhere in this church, where you attend and are well known - are those that could offer much better advice specific to your personal dilemma.
Since this seem to be a recurring theme - I thought to offer something a little different.  That you need to see through the eyes of single ladies.  Not so you can possibly be what they are looking for but to realize that there are some things you can take to heart, learn and apply to become a better person than you are.

I do hope you can find a lady for whom you can fulfill her every eternal dream and fantasy at least to the degree that you expect for yourself.

I did not intend to post any links from grammarly. I've been trying and failing to edit that post since it posted, so sorry about that.
Also, I wanted to add that possibly even better than saying, "Family circumstances prevented me from serving," would be to leave it at, "I'm a convert and was unable to serve a mission."

    A woman's perspective:
The lack of a mission isn't the big red flag here. It's that you didn't go because your parents didn't allow you to. How old is old enough to do things without your parents permission? If I get involved with you, will my input matter or will everything come down to what your parents want? If, as you indicate, there's more to the story, say something like family circumstances prevented you from going. Then give the details after you've had a chance to show your devotion to Christ in other ways.
    This. Very much.
So you're about 22? That's not too old. I am genuinely confused here.

I don't like to tell personal stuff on the internet more than is needed. But here's some of my background, i have a bachelor's in CS and in accounting, i worked on both at the same time, while working on it i have been learning languages, and today i speak 4 fluently. I am specialized in accounting automatization and due to my skills i have acquired canadian permanent residency because they have a points based immigration system. No, im not using translator software and i have international dating experience in the US, CA and BR.

When I was in law school, at least per the US News system, “tiers” were broken up into groups of 50 (top tier was schools ranked 1-50, second-tier was 51-100, and on down to fourth tier).  BYU, I believe, is consistently in the high 30s or low 40s; if that’s now tier 3 or 4, then things have significantly changed.  🙂
If you can get into a top-14 school, and reject it because you think you can recruit some hot young Mormon chickadee from BYU to take you, and then you nonetheless somehow fail in your quest . . . You’re going to be kicking yourself pretty hard.  If those are your priorities—by all means, take the T14 slot.

I would think you wouldn't want to consider a woman who thinks this way as an eternal companion anyway.  Maybe you could be grateful that they are removing themselves as options for you.

It is never whether you served a mission or not and always WHY you served a mission or not.
I'm a girl so I can kinda guess what most girls will do... it's like a resume - you submit a resume to an employer and it doesn't have the basic qualification written on the want-ad saying you're a return missionary, most girls will not bother to ask why, they'll just set aside that application and put more focus on the other applicants.  If you're in BYU, there are a lot of applicants.  So, chances are, your resume is not going to get focus unless you got something in that resume that stands out among other applicants (being good looking, as @Vort has said, or driving a Lamborghini is one of the advantages).
But that just gets you in the door.  The other qualities of applicants start to get considered the more the girl starts to get to know you.  But if you've reached this stage, you also get the chance to let the girl know the WHY of things to prove to the girl you're worth spending the rest of her life with and raising a family with which could then put you far above the good looking or Lamborghini-driving competition.
So, anyway, choosing BYU as your battlefield can be both advantageous and disadvantageous.  The number of girls worthy to spend the rest of your life with is plenty.  But the number of applicants worthy for the girls to spend the rest of their lives with are also plenty so you'll have tons of competition just to catch somebody's attention.
The Singles Ward would be a better battlefield - not as many girls, but also not as many competition.  And the setting lends to you becoming personal and being able to express the WHY of things to all the girls before you send out your applications.
    Good luck on your endeavors.
If the Y or the Singles Ward doesn't pan out.... there are tons of LDS women in the Philippines that would put the possibility of obtaining a US green card high up on the applicants list, even higher than "good looking".

I ve always have had a thing for redheads and nordic girls, but thats just a simple preference, my decision to date a girl goes far beyond that. To me, the girls dont want the experience and qualities that a mission brings, they simply want the guy to have served, i think it became something cultural, it would be a shame for their families if she married a guy who didn't serve.
The common first question to date someone on church apps is "RM or bust", you dont get a chance to say who you are and what are your strenghs and stuff. If they only could give me the opportunity to tell them more about me, they would see that i'm just as faithfull as a RM, they would know all sacrifices i had to make to join the church, the courage i had to have to join the church even under threats of my parents, they would know i am a pioneer.
In short, guys who didn't serve are not having the opportunity to date and tell more of themselves due to a seemingly culture that's being raised about missions, ive seen things on the facebook of these girls such as "fifth generation of missionaries",  and they keep their tag name to be placed by the side of husband's RM tag.
Its like they would feel ashamed to date a guy who doesn't hold one of those tag names at home.

@Serviteur du seigneur, here is my advice for you:
    Chill.
Some girls will not want to date you. Others will happily date you. Of that second group, some will be interested in pursuing a further relationship, possibly even exploring marriage. Just be kind and solicitous. Live your religion.
If you look for bad behavior such as discrimination based on RM status, you are sure to find it—even if it is not really there. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. So quit focusing on the wrong things. Just be yourself and enjoy the experience. Dating is fun, or should be. Experience it.

Almost fifty percent of the BYU student population is female. There are enough women there to choke a thousand horses. You will have no problem whatsoever finding a girl at BYU.
Now, whether or not she'll go out with you is another matter. That depends on things like friendliness and dedication to principle. Being good-looking doesn't hurt, or so I'm told.

I am a convert so i can say something about this. I too, as a kid, never thought the "mormons" were christians, because they didn't have anything related to christ, They never corrected anyone calling them mormons and lots of people in my area barely knew how to read at that time, so they couldnt know what was written in the name tag.
So the rumors around the Brazilian rural area where i lived were that they had a god named José smith and another one alive called gordon B hinckley.
Now, Most of you are utah people born in the covenant, so you havent had the opportunity to see how valuable these changes being made by pres nelson are.
Members in that same area where i live began to correct others wherever and whenever they were called mormons. Those who have been corrected have started to call the members SUD (LDS)
The church is know becoming more and more connected culturally to christ in that area. And now that the christus image is going to be added to our every simbol, that is going to be awesome. My brethren, i am trully excited. My people will always see christ in the nametag and in our chapels now.
the addition of the christus as a visual simbol is really really valuable. I really hope they add that to our temples and chapels and everything related to the church as soon as possible. This prophet is extremely inspired.

When i became LDS i thought vozes mormons was related to the church.  But that's what they do, they strive to mislead people that are researching the church. Their content is biased.
And the bible videos series is often shared around families whatsapp group here south. It would be helpful, if These videos contained more information about where's coming from. Like the new logo of the church. That would be a dream of mine hahahah my relateds will always be saying to me, "i believe thats from your mormons church, right kid ?"

Sometimes i think that the spreading of this nickname might have something to do with the enemy. Because I know firsthand that this did not contribute with anything. What the prophet did was crucial, both adding the visual simbol and prohibiting the use of the nickname.
