  1. Sorry I missed it. Silly me, I pegged you as being lonely and miserable. Imagine that.
  2. If it works for you, good. I go out with friends all the time in “real life” and I can’t imagine being happy without them in my life. I totally agree. Marxist ideology is from the devil.
  3. That’s a reason why I never friend anyone from my childhood. I don’t want to ruin the few pleasant memories I have due to adult disagreements. Sorry it happened to you bro
  4. Agree. Like I said I can’t really relate to life in the military. Nor do I particularly want to, to be honest.
  5. I feel the same way about TKD, obviously on a much smaller scale without life or death stakes. Anyone who can step on the mat to compete has my respect, even if I want nothing to do with them in my personal life. And to be fair, I’m sure there are people in TKD who respect me for getting on the mats but want nothing to do with me either when the day is over.
  6. Interesting. Thanks. I cringe when civilians like me try to make military choices. You want women on the front line? You want LGBTQ there too? Poll the people in the armed forces. If they want it, great. If they don’t, great. People like me who never served should keep their mouths shut on this topic.
  7. Do you think most people who served generally share your opinion?
  8. It depends on perspective. If you are far right wing, than anyone to the center of the John Birch Society is a communist. If you are far left wing, then anyone who critiques Mao is a reactionary right winger. Biden is a traditional liberal/moderate to those of us who aren’t donning MAGA caps or rioting with BLM on the streets.
  9. It was awkward, heavy, and didn’t clean the place all that well. But it was the only vacuum they had, so we made it work! Lol
  10. Someone got into my libertarian foreign policy books I see? 😜
  11. @askandanswer & @zil2 this showed up on my memories today.
  12. Thanks. I work out every day, including a five mile run/jog, push ups, sit ups, scissors and jumping jacks, etc. So I’m in decent shape. However, I don’t think I could do what is required of you guys and girls.
  13. What are the physical requirements?
  14. “The greatest victory for Satan was convincing the world he doesn’t exist.”-from a movie called The Usual Suspects.
  15. I’ve never served in the armed forces, but I’ve worked at jobs where your coworkers would rather be anywhere else. I’m not saying everyone has to be 100% every day, that’s not reality. But it’s a real morale killer to be with people day in and day out who are only going through the motions or worse, clearly don’t want to be there. I can’t imagine what it’s like if your very life depends on someone like the coworkers I’m describing
  16. That’s nice. As a teenager we didn’t know that. Nor would any of us have cared. We were all stunned she went into the army. I was simply telling @JohnsonJones that the “anti-military” thought was around when I was in high school as well.
  17. Sadly, this was popular in the 90’s too when I was a kid. One of my best friends in childhood joined the army right out of high school and all of us were stunned. She could have gone to any college in the Northeast and no one saw this coming.
  18. We do, and a lot of us would go the extra mile and would refuse to see our sons/nephews drafted as well.
  19. as long as others don’t use that as a crutch to treat people like rubbish, I generally agree.
  20. Yeah, that’s too far and I agree with you there. But how we treat others matters, especially those who know nothing about the church. I don’t want people to know I’m LDS and walk away thinking all LDS are abrasive prigs. So I don’t act like one.
  21. Our exchange student landed safely in China. We heard from him via WeChat.
