  1. That is disgusting! In other news: Taco Bell fare has never been in my definition of "food" or "edible."
  2. My workplace rated 5/5 on that gov't rating. All the care centers within a 50 mile distance of my home are 4/5 and 5/5. I can't say it for other places, but where I work, we take the well-being of our residents very seriously. There nurses who are not happy here are more than free to transfer to the hospital we're connected to. Perhaps this is why I consider a care center a more humane option. :)
  3. Stuff like this makes me, as a nurse, see red. If they can't be bothered to take care of her themselves, why couldn't they at least have hired someone to take care of her or have her placed in a care center/nursing home?? That would have been far more humane than leaving her to lay in her own filth, become ill and die! Taking care of those who aren't able to do it for themselves is one of the reasons I became a nurse in the first place!! >

    Ding Dong Ditch

I would say yes, he was. As he had said, he has 2 little kids and was afraid they were criminals. All *I* can say is that those teens are SO lucky I am not their mom! They wouldn't be leaving the house again for any reason until high school was done! >=(
  5. Congrats! We could use more enthusiastic educators! Many good wishes and prayers for your success in school! =)
  6. I'm rather neutral about women getting breast augmentations. Yes, some get them as part of reconstruction after cancer or an accident that left them "disfigured." And others do it to please a partner or because they simply want a bigger set of cups. It comes down to the individual woman, and think people should keep their noses out of it, unless they happen to be that woman's doctor or partner.
  7. Born and raised in Montana, so western part of the country. 1) Side dish 2) Soda! 3) Main dish. But I'm a real sucker for cheese. 4) Ewwww, I don't like biscuits and gravy! Pass! 5) I had grits once in my life. I don't really care for them. 6) Over 7) Green onions 8) Peecan.
  8. 1) Pay off my medical bills and student loans. 2) Pay off my mom's outstanding bills. 3) Buy my mom a house and allot extra "funny money" so she can tweak it to how she wants it. 4) Start an IRA 5) Go back to school for my master's degree. (I'm wanting to teach nursing before I retire. :) )
  9. When I was baptized, my mother gave me a standard size KJV Bible and a large print triple combination. I love that triple, it made it -slightly- easier to write in the margins, for me.
  10. Well, I'm guessing he was paying special attention to male parents, what with it being Father's day and all. :)
  11. Had a couple hours of snow in my part of Montana, but it melted as it hit the ground on Friday afternoon. Kind of a bummer, I was looking forward to splashing in the first rain puddles of spring! =P
  12. Sending good wishes and good vibes your way! =D
  13. I would have to pick cats. I was very frightened by a stray dog when I was a small child and have never gotten comfortable with them, with the exception of a Pomeranian that one of my Mom's boyfriends had when I was a kid. That little poochie was sooo cute and I loved taking it on walks! My cats have been very intelligent. I adopted one as a 5 year old and the other two as 6 month old kittens. The eldest, called Cupid, comes when I call him, "talks" to me when I come home from school or work, adores being picked up and held, likes to snuggle, greets EVERYONE at the door and likes to be near me whenever I'm home. In fact, he's sleeping in his usual spot near my computer as I type! I speak to all 3 of them as if they were human children and they respond to me. My cats aren't much for doing "tricks" on demand, but they know when they're being scolded, praised or called to their human owners. That being said, I did some training with them when I first got them, so that they associate good behavior with things like being petted or catnip.
  14. On that, I have noooo idea.
  15. That would have been the triple's/quadruple's/etc's business and nobody else's, IMO.
  16. It all depends on what you want to do. My first encounters with computers growing up were Apple/Mac brand. I've had my share of PCs. Both are good, IF you get a quality machine and IF you research on what you want to use your machine for. For now, I own a PC. It runs my MS Office, which I use for class work. It runs the various games I like to switch around to (Everquest2, World of Warcraft, the Sims, Civilization, etc). When Apple makes an affordable gaming machine, I'll give them a try again. But for now, if they can't play my games, they aren't getting my money!
  17. Wait wait wait.... there are people who actually take Glenn Beck SERIOUSLY? O.o
  18. Not professional. But I don't think it's worthy of suspending and losing 2 weeks pay. He wrote an apology and it was not meant in a mean spirited way. I don't think the punishment fits the "crime." At the same time, you have to wonder about an educator who doesn't stop to think that maybe such a comment could cause offense to a student or parent.
  19. I have shoes similar to the Shape-ups. They have been VERY great about ending my knee and hip pain! I have -zero- knee and hip pain after working a shift wearing them.
  20. Boy: Alejandro Ricardo Girl: Mari Ana I'm a bit of a fan for spanish/hispanic names. :)
  21. I am sitting at home, taking a break from homework, and feeling utterly despondent over events that took place on Friday, as they have caused a major change of course for my plans for the future.
  22. French. My mother's side of the family can speak it, but I have great difficulty trying to form the words.
  23. My pet peeve: Someone has a problem with me and does not tell me to my face, or heck, even in an email to me. If you have a problem with me, please please PLEASE, tell me! I'll be more motivated to change if I hear it from the source, rather than 2nd or 3rd hand. I'm a big girl, I can handle it.
  24. I've only had it occur to me twice in my entire life. It wasn't til last fall that I learned what it was when discussing sleep disorders in one of my Nursing courses. The episodes were more than 5 years apart.
  25. I thought that was just beans that did that...
