You need to talk with the EQP and then the Bishop if necessary.
As far as using your truck, no, they must use a moving truck that they arrange in advance,
As far as moving non-members or friends of members - no
All moves must be arranged at least 2 weeks in advance - that's how it should be.
Talk to your missionaries and tell then that your truck is off limits, period.
Learn how to say no when someone asks for the use of your truck.

As others here have already mentioned, there is nothing wrong with reciting words that you have mentally prepared in advance. Many times those words are given by the Spirit in advance.
I've also had the experience of mentally preparing words in advance, and then never reciting those words in the dedication because the Spirit dictated otherwise. If your husband follows the outline in the handbook it will be difficult to go wrong.

Just before going through the temple my first time one of my friends had just finished going through in preparation for his mission. He ended up leaving the church instead saying that freaky expletive stuff went on in their and he wanted nothing to do with it. He was still down with the rest of the church but didn't like the temple or agree with what goes on in there. His parents felt bad that they had not helped prepare him better and had a brief conversation with me about how everything there just builds on gospel principles already taught and that there should be no surprises.

I went to the temple the first time wondering what on earth would happen in there that no one was allowed to talk about, but also trusting that it must be sacred - I never believed the nonsense that goes around about what happens. I felt it was an interesting experience, but it didn't ever bother me. A nice Elders Quorum President wanted to ensure I became more comfortable with going and set time aside to take me on a few more occasions. He even took me for chinese food to discuss things about it. These early temple experiences were nice, even if unfamiliar to me.

On my mission we could go to the temple on preparation day. My trainer would make us get at 5:30 am to travel to the bountiful temple from near Hill AFB (Clinton, Sunset, Clearfield all runs together). I ended up sick and really needed to rest on P-day, but my trainer would have none of it and as a greenie I wasn't ready to stand up to him so I went along and didn't get my rest which kept me ill for six-weeks. I was too tired and unwell to ever get anything out of it and started to despise being there.

I later regained some enjoyment of the temple - especially doing initiatory and baptisms. I can tend to struggle with the changes that have taken place over time, even since I've been attending. I suppose this is what ongoing revelation is for, but it seems like ordinances aren't supposed to change; hence we don't Baptize by sprinkling and so on. So it eats away at me when I'm there remembering how certain things were done and how they are done and knowing that many changes have happened along the way.

I also had the unfortunate experience of a terrible wedding day that further taints my temple experience somewhat, because even to go do sealings there is always a part of me that feels like I missed out on something special that day. My wife and her family insisted that we had to have the day over-full of non-essential crap so we didn't have time to enjoy the actually important part of the day and reflect on the commitment/covenant being made. Maybe I'm just weak minded but I always feel like going to the temple re-opens wounds and hurt feelings.

I also find that so many people seem to talk about how much they learn in the temple - I can't say I've ever felt this way either. I learn more reading in the scriptures than I do attending the temple. I might not be wired to pick up the lessons that are supposedly there for me and it makes me feel stupid - even with an IQ score and patriarchal blessing that suggest I'm actually quite bright.

I have the further trouble of having lived so close to a temple that I could literally walk there within five minutes, that the idea of driving for an hour both ways makes it hard to pull off - there is pretty much only time on Saturday and I have so much other stuff to catch up on Saturday that my temple attendance is woefully infrequent these days. Add a wife that takes two-years to get ready and is incapable of being punctual and the added blessing of a little baby and my outlook of improving attendance doesn't appear to be going up.

To summarize, I know I should love the temple, I would like to say I love the temple, I have felt the peace the temple has to offer (but inconsistently), I love to go for walks around the temple, but I don't love going through the temple.

I'm mostly thinking about Conference this weekend.

I've always been a bit puzzled by the signs on doors -not just on churches but medical offices and the like that say "Gun Free Zone".  I understand how they would be trying to prevent accidental shootings. But if someone is going into a place with intent to shoot, I doubt they are going to see the sign and say, "Oh woops, silly me. I guess I can't kill scores of people this way. I'll have to think of some other method."

I tend to agree with your feelings if I was in your place. It would seem if the mission said they could have them and if the families wanted them to have them they could send one or send the money. To buy them then send a bill without notice is kind of tacky.. In my opinion.

DW and I were having a very rough time not too long after we were sealed and I was seriously wondering if we had not made a mistake by being sealed to each other as at that point in time we were not sure we wouldn't be getting a divorce. We were in Utah and at Temple Square talking with a young Sister missionary (just tour stuff, nothing about our problems) when she said she wanted to share a verse of scripture with us.
2nd Nephi 31:20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.
The anger we had been feeling towards each other melted from both of us at that instant. That was over 15 years ago and we're still together and happy.
Don't even try to tell me you can't receive inspiration from the Holy Ghost, thankfully that young Sister Missionary listened and acted.

Yeah, I don't doubt for a minute that its hard, but you know what? most worthwhile things are.
Cravings whether its porn, cigs, booze, etc hit hard for a while, then with time they get to be less and less.
I gave up smoking long before joining the Church, man that was rough, but I've been smoke free for 27 years now and let me tell you, I have not had a craving for a long time (at least 25 years) and in fact I can't stand to be near a smoker. Cravings are strong for a few months, may be even a year but then come further and further in between. It'll eventually be the same with your porn issue, just hold to it.

As my tagline says: Worship, without sacrifice, is just words.
We all have our favorite sins, but we can rise above them, its not always easy but its worth it.

One of the toughest parts of the repentance process is having to show that true repentance has taken place.  It is difficult to want to go to the temple, or take the sacrament, etc, and not be able to because a sufficient period of time has not passed to show that a change of heart has occurred.

In my opinion if tithing is not paid, simply paying the "owed" or "back" tithing does not constitute repentance.  I feel this way because tithing is not a debt or a bill that we can miss a few months then make up for it by paying a lump sum.  Tithing is a demonstration of humility and faith and if we slip up, we need time to show the Lord that we have truly changed.

This does not only apply to tithing, but virtually all other commandments.

The advise that I give you is to humbly listen to the counsel of your Bishop and hang in there.  The time will pass really fast.  You can do it.

In the eternal scheme of things it would not have made a difference. It would have been slightly more hassle to come in and be sealed. But being born in the covenant has no eternal value over being sealed.

It's about perspective. Yes, timing can matter in some ways. But in the eternal perspective, more often then not, it will not, particularly if the timing is not a procrastination. We have been carefully warned to not procrastinate the day of our repentance. Paying faithful tithing for 6 months to go to the temple is clearly not procrastinating the day of their repentance. And if the worse should happen, and somehow they died before being able to go to the temple, they would have the work done for them, they would accept it, and nothing would be held against them for following their bishop's counsel.

I suspect a limited flood. I don\'t know to what extent the flood covered earth and for how long, but apparently it was significant enough that survivors believed it to cover EVERYTHING, as per certain records of old times. So, no, I don\'t believe the entire planet was covered in water and one arc alone (with x people, animals, plants maybe) replenished the earth to what it is now.

The way this is written is confusing.

It sounds like the bishop is looking for (minimally) a 6 month patter of paying tithing.  Yet you refer to having paid four months' worth of tithing.  If that's the case, 4 months is not 6 months no matter whether it's separate payments or lump.  And January to April is not six months.

Could he be concerned (given something in your history), that you may just be coming up with a one-time sum in order to get your recommends to get sealed, but then will revert back to your old patterns once the sealing has been accomplished?  Nothing personal, but these kinds of behaviors do happen.

Perhaps he's looking for more than just a dollar amount satisfied.

One could also argue that tithing by check eliminates the effort of counting out the money.
While we're at it, let's get rid of those preprinted slips and envelopes. If you're not making your own paper and ink for your tithing slips, you're just not obedient enough.

Homemade loaf of bread is nice, or muffins. Those are always so good, and with the bread, there's a lot of things to become of it. I personally don't like soups because unless you know exactly what the person likes in their soup, it could be a toss out once you leave it with them.

Be very careful if you do sleep with him after separating. Many men who are separating have an active sex life with other women (and visa versa. You don't want to catch a Sexually Transmitted disease.

While technically you would not be breaking the law of chastity, why would you want to sleep with someone your separated from? There is either a reason to separate or there is not.

While the font could be better, for me it\\\'s the contrast of just black on white. I much prefer a light grey or tan as a background. All the white while surfing the board and reading threads is a little too much for my preference. I\'ve had to resort to killing the brightness on my monitor if I\'m going to spend much time on the site.
