  1. Yes we do. We have to pay taxes, and also deal with death and poop. šŸ˜€
  2. I went for about a two mile hike with my daughter and dogs in the Wasatch mountains yesterday. We were up there when the sun was settings. As the sun went down we were bathed in a golden light for about ten minutes. The view up there was also magnificent.
  3. I just finished the New Testament today. I read or listened to all 403 pages about. Now, it is on to the Book of Mormon. Presently I finished Enos to Words of Mormon and I am starting on the book of Mosiah now. In the future I will go back to I Nephi to Jacob.
  4. YouTube blocked the video for age restrictions and they make you sign in. What a joke. Nothing graphic is shown. Thanks for posting this inspirational video. I cannot believe some people can fight so hard and endure so much in attacks.
  5. I saw the After Death movie a few hours ago. In my opinion I would give it a thumbs up. The director of the movie is hoping to inspire others about the reality of the next life and God. I am glad I went to see it.
  6. I have a son returning from a mission December 28th of this year. If he is like me he will not want to leave the mission field. I had a very powerful longing for years after returning home to go back out again into full time missionary service. His friend is returning home from a mission in Colorado/Wyoming this month. It will be great to go to his home coming.
  7. Good bye October. Hello, All Saints Day. Here is some information about an ancient saint. ----------------------------------------- Saint Valentine was a Catholic priest who had also worked as a doctor. He lived in Italy during the third century Anno Domini and served as a priest in Rome. Historians donā€™t know much about Valentineā€™s early life. They pick up Valentineā€™s story after he began working as a priest. Valentine became famous for marrying couples who were in love but couldnā€™t get legally married in Rome during the reign of Emperor Claudius II, who outlawed weddings. Claudius wanted to recruit lots of men to be soldiers in his army and thought that marriage would be an obstacle to recruiting new soldiers. He also wanted to prevent his existing soldiers from getting married because he thought that marriage would distract them from their work. When Emperor Claudius discovered that Valentine was performing weddings, he sent Valentine to jail. Valentine used his time in jail to continue to reach out to people with the love that he said Jesus Christ gave him for others. He befriended his jailer, Asterious, who became so impressed with Valentineā€™s wisdom that he asked Valentine to help his daughter, Julia, with her lessons. Julia was blind and needed someone to read material for her to learn it. Valentine became friends with Julia through his work with her when she came to visit him in jail. Emperor Claudius also came to like Valentine. He offered to pardon Valentine and set him free if Valentine would renounce his Christian faith and agree to worship the Roman gods. Not only did Valentine refuse to leave his faith, he also encouraged Emperor Claudius to place his trust in Christ. Valentineā€™s faithful choices cost him his life. Emperor Claudius was so enraged at Valentineā€™s response that he sentenced Valentine to die. Before he was killed, Valentine wrote a last note to encourage Julia to stay close to Jesus and to thank her for being his friend. He signed the note: ā€œFrom your Valentine.ā€ That note inspired people to begin writing their own loving messages to people on Valentineā€™s Feast Day, February 14th, which is celebrated on the same day on which Valentine was martyred. Valentine was beaten, stoned, and beheaded on February 14, 270. People who remembered his loving service to many young couples began celebrating his life, and he came to be regarded as a saint through whom God had worked to help people in miraculous ways. By the year 496, Pope Gelasius designated February 14th as Valentineā€™s official feast day.
  8. A terrible thing one can do is buy their kid a smart phone. I believe children should wait until they are sixteen about to get a smart phone. And then they need to pay for all of it with money they work to earn. Someone I know bought their son a phone when they were fourteen. It has done nothing good for them from what I see.
  9. Thanks for the input thus far. I think John's counsel in those verses mostly applied to that era. Gnostics were preaching false doctrines on Christ in that time. Gnostics were divided on their beliefs about Jesus Christ. One view held that he only appeared to have human form but that he was actually spirit only. The other view contended that his divine spirit came upon his human body at baptism and departed before the crucifixion. Both of these are obviously false doctrines.
  10. I was reading through the epistle of I John recently. I read these scriptures: I John Chapter 4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God. 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God; and such is the spirit of Antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come, and even now already it is in the world. -- 21st Century King James Version -------------------- What do these scriptures mean? I understand that we are to try the spirits that we are influenced by. But devils and unclean spirits can confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. I do not understand how this is a way to try the spirits.
  11. Lesson learned. If you have to shoot an opossum, shoot it with your small caliber gun and then take it out a short distance away and put two twelve gauge slugs through it to finish it off.
  12. Yes. Darin Scott is the director of The Oath movie. It is about the last Moroni who buried up the golden plates in the Earth. If this movie is successful he plans on making more movies about the Captain Moroni in the book of Alma. At the website is the movie preview. If you like what you see show up and support it come December 8th, 2023.
  13. I am getting really sick of all the censorship I see on YouTube. In the future I hope www.rumble.com grows immensely in popularity.
  14. I was unaware any Christian churches at all were allowed into Saudi Arabia. It is crazy to me to think that the Restored Church of Christ is allowed into Saudi Arabia. We must not have missionaries there or if we do, they are not allowed to proselyte.
  15. There is a movie being released about part of the Book of Mormon very soon. It was directed by a member of the Church and will be released December 8th 2023. The movie is called: The Oath. I am very happy and waiting to see it. The website is here: https://oathmovie.com/
  16. Mirkwood, there was an Unsolved Mysteries on the Gurdon Light in Arkansas. I suggest you watch it. I am posting the video below. The video starts at 2:10 and goes until 13:10. It is interesting to me and perhaps supernatural.
  17. Have you ever heard of the Gurdon Lights in Arkansas?
  18. I found this story amusing. Thanks for sharing it.
  19. Six new temples in South America and four in Africa. I believe many are being baptized and the LORD's church is growing a lot in these places. Humble people willing to listen to the LORD. My son said within the last few months, the whole Nashville, Tennessee mission had about 96 baptisms in one month.
  20. A big scam going around now is the person getting a message they won the lottery. They just have to pay the tax money to have the millions of dollars in prize money released to them. This is not how lotteries work. They take the taxes out of the prize money before they give it to you. You do not have to pay any money up front to have lottery money released to you. One person told a story about two older ladies (around the age of 80) that paid $20,000 about to get the "millions" they won in prize money released to them. They were ripped off.
  21. Oh come now, it is not even mid September yet. I am still celebrating the American worker. Happy Labor Day! šŸ™‚
  22. So glad the news of the hurricane hitting Florida drowned out the calls for more citizen gun control in the State. No one in the mainstream news seems to care about the murders of black people continually in Chicago. Our mainstream news media is pretty corrupt.
  23. I hope Oliver Anthony releases a clean version of his Rich Men North of Richmond song. TheTry That In a Small Town song was good as well. I enjoyed it.
  24. I really respect Jordan Peterson. He said it would be best if the Republicans picked someone else other than Donald Trump as he was too controversial. I agree. But Trump will likely win the Republican nomination as a candidate for President. And NeuroTypical, a President cannot pardon himself. He has no authority to do it.
