  1. Here is a good scripture I read a couple weeks ago that goes along with this: So what I get from it is that yes your intentions are good. But first put in the effort/prayers that you are putting in for the money towards doing your best to improve yourself and following the best way you can.
  2. Possibly. It would be a long trip though I think and it depends if our mission President will let us go out of our boundries.
  3. I got my mission call today! I'm so excited right now. Nice to come home for lunch and have my call waiting. So I opened it up and read that I will be going to..... The Florida, Ft. Lauderdale mission. I leave for the MTC in just under 4 months. Something that I am looking forward to will be the weather. Here I am in good old Canada with a bunch of snow sitting outside my window. And I'll be going to sunny and warm Florida. I'm very excited.
  4. I'm actually up in Canada so it'll take a little longer for me. They told me the average to wait is about 4 weeks although it could come faster or it could be slower. Trying not to think about it though
  5. Small update, my papers got sent in last week so I'm playing the waiting game now.
  6. I mark mine in terms of topics and try to relate the colour to what it is about. Faith Baptism Repentance/Atonement Jesus Christ Prayer Favourite Miscellaneous
  7. Oh totally, luckily my conductor is an awesome guy and he and I have talked about these types of things and he will never put me on the spot for something. My mother though, who is the main pianist gets people asking for her to play stuff right then and there all the time. She's been playing for her whole life though, so she has become very adept at sightreading. Those are the types of people I will tell, if I'm not in a great mood, that if they don't like it then they can go ahead and do it themselves.
  8. Hey, some of us play both hands! Although, I don't know what the Priesthood is going to do when I leave for my mission, I've been the pianist for about 5/6 years now.
  9. Well certainly. Finished my papers about a week and a half ago, sent them to the bishop, he finished them and I have my interview tomorrow. Then it'll go to the stake president and I hope that he can have them done by the end of the month. Preferably by Christmas if possible.
  10. Bishop. I was just called into the Elder's quorum as a counsellor and am starting to feel overwhemeled by the calling. It's just now dawning on me how much the Bishop has to do and what his stewardship is.
  11. That is a great attitude to have. And really, it is the only thing to be done in a lot of cases. The best we can do is to grin and bear certain things and try to be the best example we can be under certain circumstances. And hopefully talking to the Bishop/Stake President will help things out for you as well. Best of luck.
  12. Agreed. And I'm saying that as someone who was just called last week into the Elder's Quorum presidency . Your calling is very important for the welfare of those who attend. It is an important educational time for men of the Priesthood. I know we have lots of ideas of things we want to see done in these meetings and they are to be done in conjuction with who is called.
  13. Yup. Pretty interesting way that he got fired too.
  14. The patient wouldn't allow it so they had to resort to different things to test.
