  1. My 2nd and 3rd child are in Seminary and so my husband thinks that fhe needs to be about scripture reading. The 10 year old is eager but the 5 year old is in left field and even though he might be hearing it, it does not keep his attention. Once a month the 10 year old is in charge of the lesson and the older ones feel like it is 'baby fhe'. She likes to act out characters from the scriptures and dress up her little brother as the male part while mom, dad and older brothers guess who she is. So the point of my post is... What have you done to include the wide range of ages in your family? Also I have a hard time keeping the two younger ones from having to sit on the 'naughty step' for bad behavior during fhe
  2. My two older boys are less than a 1 1/2 years apart and have never fought. They are 16 and 17 and have somehow become very musical. They pulled their beds into the smallest bedroom with their 5 yo little brother and they don't seem to care. They made the biggest bedroom into a musical getaway. It seems that they can just pick up any instrument and just start playing it. I love to hangout in the 'room' to listen to them. They invite me up and sometimes I tell them to end fhe with some music they have written. Yup I'm a proud mom
  3. I was converted at 23 and I gave up a lot. The hardest were the friends that actually gave me up. It hurt since most of us were friends since we were 6. I see my kids going through the same thing now, coming home to tell me that so-and-so is not allowed to play with them anymore because we are LDS. I have friends that belong to another church and they tell me that they pray for me but that's ok, I always need prayers. I keep our friendship in perspective and feel that I may be the only example of our church that they see and maybe they will find out that we are not what they learn about in their Sunday School classes. Also I want to add that as for giving things up I notice that members that have been in the church all their lives tend to have more problems with the WOW.
  4. Thanks for the welcome :) and thanks for explaining sahm. isurvivednickjr
  5. I couldn't register without a username and that is like picking out something to wear on Friday Night. So after having preschoolers home for 22 years I thought this name fit me. Even though the last has gone to school I still have Nick Jr playing in the background. It's like my blanky. Well, I am a mom to 5 children. Some think all I am good for is making food and getting clean clothes for the new day. Some think I was never a teenage and haven't got a clue as to what they are going through. One calls me for advice for her own little one and has no idea that when I am on the phone with him I tell him I am his real mommy. I may need to save up for therapy sessions for him later in life. Since my last one has ventured into kindergarten I replaced him with a puppy to keep me company. What in the world was I thinking?! Potty Training AGAIN!! Anyway I am a sahm. I like cooking (when I feel like it), scrapbooking, letterboxing, and going to breakfast with my friends. I hope I can remember that I joined this message board. It looks like a lot of great people and stuff to read.
