  1. The reason I have a hard time trying to answer this question is becasue of D&C 132 where the idea of becoming exalted and the purpose behind becoming exalted is to taste mortality to eventually become an endowed member of the True Gospel and be married for all time and eternity. Without this process, the status of exaltation is null and void. Thus, I am having a hard time with such an idea and doctrine. I am continually praying to receive insight into this.
  2. I actually had someone ask me the following question: If God the Father (according to Mormonism) is a resurrected being who became exalted and became a God, how did the Holy Spirit become a God without a physical body? I couldn't answer this question.... Anyone has any ideas on how to answer this question?
  3. The way I understand it is that a lady can only be sealed for all time and eternity to one husband. Here in mortality or in the next life. That does not negate the fact that your biological (assuming biological meaning your mothers first husband) could not have the endowments taken out on his behalf after he passes on (and does not accept the gospel in this life). So, to answer your question, from what I have understood is that a woman can only be sealed to one man. However, a man could be sealed to more than one woman. Meaning, if you had a step mother who passed away and your biological father decided to return back to the Church and want to be sealed to your deceased step mother, he could, and if your biological mother passed away or returned back to the church and wanted to be sealed to your biological mother, then he could do this also. I hope that answers your question.
  4. I do not hold a temple recommend. Actually, I have a wonderful lady in my life that is wanting me to go back to church with her and she is slowly getting me back into the church, having home teachers come over and talking with me. Sunday was my first time back in church in a long time.
  5. The only thing I can't give up is coffee. Not because I choose not to, but because I suffer severe ADD/HD and because I don't like to take medication for anything, the doctrine has me on three cups of coffee a day. I have had to drink coffee as a prescription since I was in grade school. It keeps me focused, organized and calms me down.
  6. I am beginning a comparative study on the Book of Isaiah. What I am comparing is the KJV, NASB, Torah (Tanakh), Dead Sea Scroll- The Great Isaiah Scroll and the LXX. Right now, I am just creating a chart where it compares each verse with one another. I am not sure what I will find, but my question is, has anyone done this? If so, what were the end results? Any resources that one has used? Thank you,
  7. Thank you all for the warm welcome here. I am in the north Seattle Area.
  8. Hello and good evening. I happened to have found this forum by accident while looking up some information on Mormon History. I am an up and coming author who is looking to write a historical novel and am doing some research. Also, I love studying various religions and how religious thought and doctrine has developed and evolved over time. Anyway, I wanted to say hello and introduce myself.
