  1. We discussed the reliability of fact checkers in a different string. Consensus seems to be that they are quite good...even mostly accurate. However, in mulling this over, that's not good enough. Why? Fact-checkers allow powerful media platforms to slant what they provide and then outsource blame when bias is exposed. See: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2020/05/12/facebooks_evidence-free_false_rating_143182.html The problems are: 1. Fact checkers simply make judgments and report their findings. 2. Sometimes they are biased, and those who use them seldom allow any recourse. 3. Entities like Facebook and Google are so prolific that even if their fact-checkers are 95% accurate, rogue evaluators can shut down voices without cause. The solution is to return to the free marketplace of ideas. Fire the fact checkers and let users decide for themselves what they will and will not believe. That might sound dangerous, but hey, I'm not 6. I don't need big corporate brother telling me what's true and false anymore than I need government doing so.
  2. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said we should look to others based on the character not their characteristics. He mentioned race, but would likely include ideology and religion. Today some conservatives look askance at Muslims, wondering if there are terrorist tendencies. Some liberals question whether political nominees who are Evangelical or Catholic can fulfill their duties objectively. Some conservatives question whether the Hispanic person they encounter is here legally or not. Some liberals question whether the white person they are speaking to is racist or not. Some trust law enforcement mostly and others mostly believe their critics. What can I do about my biases? Slow down. Believe that God knows our hearts and will accomplish justice in the end. Then, remember daily that I never encounter a mere mortal human being. We are all created in God's image.
  3. So Jonathan Gruber said that Obamacare passed because the American voters are stupid, and that the law only subsidizes states that have their own exchanges. When these remarks came out, the MIT Professor/architect of the Affordable Care Act, became a nobody to the Administration. There were claims that he played a minor role, no one in the regime could pronounce his name right, much less recognize him personally. But alas, 20,000 emails between him and the White House have surfaced, and one liberal news anchor admitted that the Administration lied about Gruber. Well, they were not fully open about the matter, so to speak. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2015/06/23/spike_it_when_the_media_kill_a_story_for_political_reasons_127088.html So, if most mainstream media shill for Obama, and FOX shills against him, where is one to find real news?
  4. Apparently the 3 Muslims that were killed in North Carolina, in part over a parking dispute, died at the hands of a progressive Atheist. There was a lot of talk about this being a hate crime--an anti-Muslim murder. Now that the killer is identified as liberal, there is nothing but crickets from most mainstream news outlets.
