  1. So, it's hit the news what many expected, that Mantafort would be charged. His charges, from what I understand it is NOT actually directly connected to Russia, NOR is it a direct connection to the campaign. Instead, he is connected to the Ukrainian government up until 2014 (when the guy he was working for/contracted with ran off to Russia). In this, he was working with Ukrainian agents prior to working on the Trump campaign. Now, if anyone is listening, the Ukraine is definitely NOT Russia. The best they can say (and this is actually true from what I can tell) is that the government entities he was working for at the time were Pro-Russian (which, as I can tell, is true, as I stated). These guys and the US involvement in Ukraine politics is what sparked off an entire political unrest and border skirmish/war (depending on who you talk to) after the leader fled to Russia. However, claiming he was a Russian Agent in this instance is like claiming someone who is working for Bernie Sander's campaign in getting elected was a Swedish Agent rather than a campaign manager and planner for a US politician. This stinks to high heaven of political manipulation. I really am thinking that the FBI shouldn't go off a dossier paid for by an opposition party to the President, and in this case, it actually smells more like a Clinton-Russian connection. Think about it, who profits more from throwing dirt on the Ukrainian government prior to 2015...Russia or the Ukraine. Sure, there are those in the Ukraine that would want to discredit that government, but by doing so they also discredit the current government to a degree, and give credit to Russia's seizing of land and a naval port. On the otherhand, this can act like a validation for Russia's seizure of Ukraine interests, as well as their own interference. The fact that it is a connection to the Ukraine government directly, and not the Russian government, as well as it was acted upon by the FBI after the Democrats paid for this information from what appears to be individuals that may be Russian double agents (who also had contact with the Trumps, at least Trump Jr. and also who tried to weasel their way into the Clinton graces when she was SoS) seem to me to implicate the Clintons moreso than Trump. Add to that the recently come to light (at least to me) sale of US uranium assets to a Russian Company...and it seems pretty grim. What the heck is going on with the FBI. Right now it seems like they may be in the side pocket of the Russians. I am normally considered liberal on these boards (but I'd say I'm more centrist than anything in relation to the US), and I find this stuff alarming. If there IS corruption in the Democrat party, I want it rooted out as quickly as possible. A good cleansing, the quicker, the better (so it has less impact on the elections, and a lesser impact on the presidential election of 2020 is what I'd want...keep it around like they are it's just going to taint the party and everyone who runs under it). Plus, I don't want anyone who is complacent with a foreign nation in that way being part of the Democrats. I hope I'm wrong, but it really kind of smells like there are some major rats in the Democrat party with strong connections to Russia. From the information I've read about thus far (and granted, it's not much, the FBI hopefully has a LOT more than this, otherwise this looks a LOT like conspiracy of the FBI with Russia in collusion TBH), what comes out sounds more like it's connecting the Democrats with trying to manipulate the elections on behalf of Russia than Trump or the Republicans. (and that would probably stem to the Clintons more than Sanders...if it were Sanders, we're back to trying to implicate the Swedes...LOL). PS: It could be that this is the guy the FBI stated was already under investigation before they even started the work on the Clinton's campaign paid for work sheet. It still beggars the question in regards to the worksheet itself, and various other things that seem suspiciously to point towards Russia in regards to Democrat corruption. Some may say, protect the party at any cost, but I would say, get rid of corruption completely and then, hopefully, the rest will follow as people see the Democrats as more honest than others...personal opinion of course.
  2. As the election draws closer, polls are showing that nearly 60% will vote against a candidate they hate, rather than for one they support. The apostle Paul, commanded Christians to pray for Caesar. Yikes! Roman leaders were immoral, anti-Christian despots. Don't trust government leaders? Think them unwise? Pray even harder!
  3. As my own heart was breaking for this nation last Tuesday night, a friend knew it, and forwarded me the following email ... hope it goes far and wide to those who need comfort also: * * * Subject: A post-election epiphany: The real winner in campaign 2012 ( Words of wisdom by Ed Lauritsen and Hugh W Nibley) It is Election Night 2012, and I'm sitting here at my computer listening to Governor Romney's concession speech, trying to come to grips with his defeat---our defeat. And into my mind comes three interesting thoughts. The first comes with a scripture: "Behold, I will hasten my work in its time." (D&C 88:73). If the Lord's "work" is to "bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man" (Moses 1:39), and if that process begins by hearing about the Church and seeing its members, then the sooner and the faster the greatest number of people can see and hear about the Latter-day Saints---especially about exemplary Saints like the Romneys---the more the work is hastened. And though the Church has 55,000+ missionaries who are quietly and patiently roaming the world knocking on doors, the Lord has brought the LDS Governor and his LDS family into the very homes of millions of people around the U.S. and the world via TV, radio, and Internet for more than a year now---people who might never have received or accepted the missionaries or LDS neighbors, let alone have learned about the LDS way of life. But now they have listened, watched, and learned, and man y of them will likely be more curious and receptive to the missionaries in the future. And that also goes for many of the Evangelicals, Protestants, and Catholics who locked arms with the Latter-Day Saints (thanks to Glenn Beck) during this long presidential campaign. Bottom line: the Romneys lost a hard-fought political battle, but they---and the Church---won a decisive, long-awaited cultural and spiritual victory in opening the minds and hearts of millions. Another post-election thought: "Be careful what you pray for." Had Romney won, it is highly doubtful that he and his team would have been able to rescue the nation's wounded economy from the purposeful destruction that Obama has intentionally inflicted upon it, Obama having done so in order to "fundamentally transform" our free enterprise system into a Socialist state. Had Romney won, the only possible way to have saved the nation and its economy would have been to make deep cuts in the welfare and entitlement programs---cuts that would have been branded "murderous, discriminatory and racist" at every turn by the Liberal mainstream media. And the ever-increasing drumbeat of these accusations over the next four years would have given license to thousands---perhaps millions--- of malcontents to take to the streets in "civil unrest" (a.k.a. anarchy). As such, Romney's never-ending vilification in print and in the electronic media would have soon painted him---and his fellow Mormons---as the enemies of America, with all the resulting antagonism, stress, and persecution of the Church, both at home and abroad. As is, over the next four years, right-wing zealots---not Christian Conservatives--- will likely become increasingly resistant, confrontational, and possibly violent in response to the creeping Socialism. Thus, "social unrest" may begin at the other end of the political spectrum, likely precipitating equally violent responses from the pro-Socialist masses. And this foregoing scenario brings me to the third and final thought tonight, one which also was accompanied by the written word, this time in the form of a powerful metaphor by Hugh Nibley. I close with it: "On the last night of a play, the whole cast and stage crew stay in the theater until the small, or not so small, hours of the morning striking the old set. If there is to be a new opening soon, as the economy of the theater requires, it is important that the new set should be in place and ready for the opening night; all the while the old set was finishing its usefulness and then being taken down, the new set was rising in splendor to be ready for the drama that would immediately follow. So it is with this world. It is not our business to tear down the old set---the agencies that do that are already hard at work and very efficient---the set is coming down all around us with spectacular effect. Our business is to see to it that the new set is well on the way for what is to come---and that means a different kind of politics, beyond the scope of the tragedy that is now playing its closing night. We are preparing for the establishment of Zion."
  4. In the Book of Mormon we learn that there are times when evil men take control of the government. I am concerned that we are in those days again. I am warning my 6 adult children to be prepared with strong testimonies, food and water and a local support group where possible. The earth is responding to the level of evil in the world with increasing storms and disasters. Politicians are very hard with their language towards each other. The world economy seems to be on the edge of trouble. I worry for my 14 grandchildren and what will confront them.
