Indexing Marriage Index Question
dprh posted a topic in Family HistoryI'm finally really starting to try indexing. The first document that came up for me was a marriage index page. The instructions have been pretty easy to follow and I was moving along fine for a while. The page I'm on is a list of Brides and part of it shows the Groom's name. One of the grooms is a Junior. I don't see anything in the instructions on how to record that. Does it go in the Given Name or the Surname section? I don't see anywhere else it might go. Thanks!
indexing Familysearch.org Linux indexing tool
jerome1232 posted a topic in General DiscussionSo I run Linux exclusively and I'm trying to get indexing to work. Unfortunately I'm rather clueless as to how to get it to actually run. I've downloaded a script from familysearch.org using wget: wget https://indexing.familysearch.org/downloads/Indexing_unix.sh But the script bombs out checking for Java (I do have openjdk 1.8) [email protected]:~/geneaology$ ./Indexing_unix.sh ln: failed to create symbolic link '/home/jeremy/geneaology/jre/bin/*': No such file or directory No suitable Java Virtual Machine could be found on your system. The version of the JVM must be at least 1.6 and at most 1.6. Please define INSTALL4J_JAVA_HOME to point to a suitable JVM. You can also try to delete the JVM cache file /home/jeremy/.install4j [email protected]:~/geneaology$ java -version openjdk version "1.8.0_91" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_91-8u91-b14-3ubuntu1~16.04.1-b14) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.91-b14, mixed mode) I'm not sure if I need to edit the script so I can fake out the java check or.... I just don't know.
