Hi everyone, I have a serious question. My little brother past away about 2 months ago he was only 18 and is sorely missed. My wife and I are expecting our first son and have had some spiritual experiences concerning my brother. My question is: is it possible and doctrinally correct for premortal spirits(my unborn son) and postmortal spirits (my deceased brother) to visit each other? I want to know if anyone has any scriptural referrences or talks given by general authorities etc. I want to know if my son an my brother are together or not.

A non-Christian supportive friend/Alanon sponsor told me in person to try to see the world through God's eyes. A few days later, she emailed, "Let me know when God has helped you see the world through his eyes, even if it only lasts for moments, it will be trans-formative." While I understand the positive spirit in which she meant it, my first thought is that I can't possibly. I'm not knowledgeable, experienced, powerful, wise, or qualified to even come close to His infinite way of viewing & interpreting the world, let alone regarding the complex trials which triggered the conversation. I can do my best to discern how He might see things, based on my limited knowledge of good and evil. But . . . To ask for such vision, test faith by trying, based on a pretense that I might understand as He does, or imagine I can judge anything on an equal level with God--seems to me to be the opposite of having a humble spirit and a contrite heart. I believe I need to trust that he sees and knows all, infinitely beyond my capacity. I don't think it's my place to question His reason, knowledge, wisdom and will. Those mysteries are not mine to understand in this life. Instead, I think I must trust that He holds the keys, and the details are none of my business. I Googled the phrase & found it to be used in the Evangelical revival population. Can anyone comment with suggestions about how I might best reply on this topic--by sharing gospel principles, without offending or arguing religion? Or am I taking it too literal over-analyzing? Hope to get replies soon. Thanks!

I am trying to find a couple quotes an I was wondering if there was someone here that could help me. Here they are: 1. There is a quote, that is attributed to an early Church leader, possibly Brigham Young, that goes something like this: The day that the Church is accepted by the world, that we know that we aren't doing what we should as Saints. 2. A quote by Joseph Smith that talks about the ultimate purpose of the Church on the Earth is to establish Zion. This has been true of every other dispensation as well. If someone could give me the exact quotes for these and give me a reference I would greatly appreciate it.

How do I explain this scripture, "Ye are the light of the world. A city set upon a hill cannot be hid." I'm trying to explain it to my friend by summarizing its meaning and how to apply it in our lives. Are there also any other scriptures besides Matthew: 5: 14 that pertain to this one? Thanks
