  1. Since this is the to do thing (and I don't want to come out in open rebellion just yet ), hi, I'm the newbie. I'm nothing to write home about, just your average Joe. I'm LDS, redneck, blue collar, and living in the south...but enough about me, who the heck are you?
  2. Hey everyone my names Tyler, I'm from Ohio and was born into the gospel, I recently got my missionary call to serve in the California Arcadia Mission and I will be Chinese speaking. Its nice to be here and I hope this forum helps me and everyone else out!
  3. Good day my brothers and sisters, I came across this site while looking at an Articles of Faith card. It seems like an interesting community to share and learn knowledge. I have been a member of the LDS religion as far as I remember. I look towards the time on this site. Ha'gwo'neh, Etsitty92
  4. Hello! I am a major SC2 fan so the Username "Cheesefails" goes along with SC2 if anybody was wondering. Some of my background- I am 15 years old. I was recently baptized in August 2012 and I am the only member of the LDS church in my family. I found out about lds.net tonight. Fortunately LDS.net is a positive mormon website! When I was searching all of the websites related to Mormonism there are some that encourage it and some that discourage it. I was wondering why there are so many websites devoted to take people away from Jesus Christ's Church. Any thoughts? Well I plan to be active on this website
  5. I am sookmi. I am a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am married for 40 years to the same woman. We have had seven children, six girls and one boy. One daughter died at birth. We have 13 grandchildren, 9 boys and 4 girls, ranging in age from 1 to 16. I have served in many church callings small and large. I am currently without a permanent home, job and church calling. I do many things, I am mobile notary, Santa Claus, Income Tax Preparer, factory worker, courier and many other things. Most important I have and bear a firm testimony that Jesus is the Christ, the redeemer and savior of all creation. That by and through Him all things were and are created. That He has established His Church on the earth in these latter days which is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That the Church was established in these days by the Prophet Joseph Smith who also brought forth the Book of Mormon and many other things by and under the direction of Jesus Christ, The Messiah.
  6. Hi , I do not plan on spending a lot of time here, but I feel like it would be appropriate to introduce myself as an LDS member. History: Raised LDS from birth, baptised a member at 8 years old, currently 18 years old and active in the Church. Skills/Activities: I like to do "Melty Art," an activity in which you melt beads after assembling them on a frame by an iron with wax paper. I can type an average of 70-90 WPM, and am quite capable of most computer activity. Also, I can play the piano quite well with currently 10+ hymns in decent playability. I go to as many church activities that I am invited to, and hope to go to even more. As a preparing missionary, I hope to be serving my Lord within a few months time. Thanks for viewing my introduction! -Alex
  7. After Conference today I was thinking to myself that I really wish I could find a good LDS oriented chat/forum/discussion site...and here we are! I'm happy to be a part of anything that is focused on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

  9. Just signed up and am now doing the whole intro thing. This looks like an excellent forum for sharing our interests and beliefs as they relate to the church and the gospel. I was "born into" the church. My parents became reactive again just about a year or two before I was born. They lived in Alaska at the time. I really wish I could remember that, we moved to Idaho when I was 5. Oh well, someday I hope to go back to Alaska and tour around. Since then I've lived in Idaho, Utah, and Nevada. I'm currently working on a PhD at Utah State University, which I hope to finish soon. I've been in school forever it seems. My wife and I have 5 wonderful children who keep us super busy. We love to see them learn and grow. It's great!! One of my passions is board/card game design. I love creating new ideas for board games, trying them out, refining them, and over and over again. Recently I have been focused on LDS/Mormon themed games. I think that games based on the gospel can provide a great teaching and learning opportunity, especially with children. Anyway, I find that there really aren't a whole lot available right now. So, I decided I'd like to help change that. I've got a blog where I talk about such things: Mormon Game Design. It's a lot of fun writing about these things and finding out what others think. I really enjoy it. I'd love to get a group together on here that are interested in games. Any way of connecting with others and sharing ideas, it's fantastic! So, there's the "what about me and who I am." Mike
  10. Hello Friends, I know I have been away for a while and haven't been too active on these forums. In fact, as I just now came back to visit, I realized everything was different. I was aware that the forums and site were changing, but when I checked today, I was amazed at all the new faces and features. I feel so alienated now. So here is my tabula rasa on these forums. My name is Orrin Jelo (not really, but you get the idea) from Utah. I am going to Utah Valley University, studying physics, although I am a professional bum. I am good with computers--familiar with many aspects including hardware, Linux, Windows, 3d modeling, audio editing, programming in C/C++, graphics, and much more. (In fact, if you want me to build a computer for you, feel free to contact me!) I am learning guitar. I like to read and write--I've got about 100 pages of a rough draft of a novel sitting on my hard drive (someday I will get to work on finishing it). I am a sci-fi fan. I watch Lost, Fringe, Battlestar Galactica, Sanctuary, Heroes...that kind of stuff (also some anime like FMA and Serial Experiments Lain). I am a fan of U2, Coldplay, Pink Floyd, Styx, Matchbox 20, and more. As that is all I can think of without posting something like my entire curriculum vitae, I think I will stop and explore the site a bit more. I'm feeling lost. Oh yeah, I just recently turned 24 and and very much single. I must be ugly or have a very repulsive personality.* ------------------------ * Just kidding. Except on the 24 and single.
  11. I take it that this forum is a place to get your without making major blunders in public, so here goes. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm trying some of the BB Code formatting codes to see how they work as well. [Later that evening...] It looks like I've spent enough time on the computer for tonight. After I get the kids in bed, I think I'll watch 24.
