  1. The Blood Moon Triad of 2018-2019 The Three Blood Moons of 2018-2019 begin tonight with a Total Lunar Eclipse! These three total lunar eclipses in a row will happen on Hebrew holidays...tu B'Shevat, tu B'Av and then again on tu B'Shevat of 2019. The blood moon or total lunar eclipse will be around 6-6:30 MT tomorrow morning the 31st of January. This eclipse will also be a supermoon (the third of three in a row...meaning they all happen super close to the Earth) and a blue moon (it will be the second full moon in one month). Looking back at the last time there was a blue/blood moon in 1866 (which was Passover) there was an epidemic in New York, a plague in the Mid-west and a presidential assassination...of President Lincoln (within the year give or take...which is the way the Hebrew calendar works compared to our year as it doesn't start in January). Tu B'Shevat is the New Year's of trees (one of four New Year's according to Hebrew tradition). The State of the Union Address is also tonight which on the Hebrew calendar is the same day (their day starts at Sundown) as this eclipse. Moving forward in time to 17 March is Nissan 1 or New Year's of God's calendar. Solar eclipses happened on this date in 2015 and in 2016 (when starting the calendar as commanded in Leviticus. The command to start this calendar was the first commandment given to the house of Israel.) Two weeks later is the 31st of March which is Passover Saturday, Easter Sunday and LDS General Conference and a second blue moon this year! (In 1836 there was a weekend when Jesus appeared in the Kirtland Temple where it was both Passover on Saturday and Easter on Sunday.) Having two blue moons in a row is a very rare event. It happened because the full moon and closest Supermoon for the entire year actually happened on New Year's of 2018 (that's a rare event too) and then February is a short month, making March 1st another full moon with the 31st another blue moon! Some people believe that the Day of Atonement heralding the Jubilee year (anciently happened every 50 years where debt was forgiven, etc.) is actually in preparation for the Jubilee year to start on Nissan 1 (as God commanded the year to begin then in Leviticus). That would make this Nissan 1 or New Year's on God's calendar the end of the 5777th year which is believed by some to be 120 jubilees since Adam, 70 jubilees since Moses, 40 jubilees since Jesus Christ (and 4 since Joseph Smith) were on the Earth. There are certainly some interesting (and perhaps prophetic) signs in the heavens coming up!!
  2. This past weekend President Uchtdorf said that we have a charge to study the signs of the times, "We are the Saints of the Latter Days...Inherent in our name is the commitment to look forward to the Savior's return! and prepare ourselves and the world to receive Him...We are charged with studying the word of God and heeding the voice of the Spirit that we may know the signs of the times and the signs of the coming of the Son of God." I earnestly seek to do that! Two of our apostles (I believe it was President Nelson and Elder Ballard) said that we must study "The Living Christ"...which Elder Hales prophesied about back in 2013. Perhaps we are to that time where the witness of the apostles related to the life and divinity of Jesus Christ is "most needed"? This is the article I wrote a few years ago...I think those of you who read will appreciate the review of where we were then in order to better understand where we are now. "The historic day our prophet lowered the missionary age was a historic day in our home as well, as my two remaining children suddenly were a year away from being able to put in their papers. Since that day the Lord’s "hastening" has been a good deal in my thoughts, and the questions that have been uppermost in my mind have been how should we hasten? and what are we hastening for? I went to the scriptures to learn of hastening and read, “Behold, I will ahasten my work in its time.” (D&C 88:73) But that was so short I wanted to know more, so I pressed on the link and went to the reference scripture, “A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a bstrong nation: I the Lord will hasten it in my time. (Isaiah 60:22 JST) and then to D&C 133:58 “To prepare the weak for those things which are coming on the earth, and for the Lord’s errand in the day when the weak shall confound the wise, and the little one become a strong nation, and two shall put their tens of thousands to flight.” I found that all of these chapters talk about the last days. Of particular import to me was that in Isaiah Joseph Smith changed the translation from “His” time to “My” time. The Lord said He would hasten His work in His time which means His time is NOW. It is “His time” or in His words “My time.” When I was my children’s age, President Kimball asked us to "lengthen our stride" and now it seems we are picking up that pace. I don’t know about others, but I have been mighty comfortable watching pretty much from the sidelines, and most likely I haven't been the only one, as a few years ago Elder M. Russell Ballard said, "Nearly 18 decades have passed since the organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1830. We have had 178 years to observe the fulfillment of prophecy and to watch “the truth of God” as it goes “forth boldly, nobly, and independent.”1 But we are asked to do more than “watch” as in a recent Ensign we were asked to “immerse” ourselves in His work, "Far more important is how we as members fit into the larger picture of hastening the work of salvation...Our role is to immerse ourselves in loving and serving those around us."… “As long as we reach out in kindness and love to those who need our friendship and help, we will not fail…success comes by following the inspiration that flows into our minds and hearts and simply inviting others into our gospel-centered lives.2 Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in the “Hastening the Work of Salvation” broadcast spoke of the importance of love. He said, “We work together in faith and unity—faith that the Lord will guide our steps and unity with each other and with the missionaries, always motivated by our love for [Jesus Christ], our love for one another, and our love for those we serve.”3 In the Ensign article it also talked about us, it said, “As Latter-day Saints we are blessed to be living in this time when the Lord is hastening His work. Because God has a purpose in placing us on earth at this time, we have the capacity to do more than we think we can.”2 It said, “God has a purpose in placing us on this earth at this time.”2 President Eyring has said several times that when the brethren quote other prophets or repeat themselves we should give particular heed to their messages.4 So I thought it was particularly interesting a few years ago when President Monson quoted another prophet, "Said President Benson: ‘In all ages, prophets have looked down through the corridors of time to our day. Billions of the deceased and those yet to be born have their eyes on us. Make no mistake about it—you are a marked generation…For nearly six thousand years, God has held you in reserve to make your appearance in the final days before the second coming of the Lord. Some individuals will fall away, but the kingdom of God will remain intact to welcome the return of its Head—even Jesus Christ…While this generation will be comparable in wickedness to the days of Noah, when the Lord cleansed the earth by flood, there is a major difference this time: [it is that] God has saved for the final inning some of His strongest…children, who will help bear off the kingdom triumphantly.’”5 President Benson finished off that paragraph with this prophetic statement, “And that is where you come in, for you are the generation that must be prepared to meet your God."6 In re-reading this talk I found it interesting where President Benson talked of “our generation” and then talked to the young adults of that time (who are now in their 50s-60s) saying “you are the generation.” The Ensign article continues, “The work of salvation is Heavenly Father’s work “to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39). This important work includes member missionary work, convert retention, activation of less-active members, temple and family history work, and teaching the gospel.”2 Recently I was privileged to hear a talk from my stake president where he counseled us regarding how very important attending the temple will be in the times to come as it will be our help in order to “withstand the fiery darts of the adversary.” Elder Robert D. Hales said something about this same thing in 2006 and again in 2013, where on both occasions he followed President Monson in conference. In 2006 he said, “We are living in the latter days, brothers and sisters, in the fulness of times. We must remember that we have control over who we are no matter how difficult the world becomes. Like those in 1 Nephi, the true and faithful will be able to withstand the fiery darts of the adversary when he is loosed upon this earth. Despite all the turmoil in the world, when the Savior comes to His temple, as He did in the Book of Mormon, those who are true and faithful will be there. May we be among them… 7 And then in 2013 he said, “In recent decades the Church has largely been spared the terrible misunderstandings and persecutions experienced by the early Saints. It will not always be so. The world is moving away from the Lord faster and farther than ever before. The adversary has been loosed upon the earth. We watch, hear, read, study, and share the words of prophets to be forewarned and protected. For example, “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” was given long before we experienced the challenges now facing the family. “The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles” was prepared in advance of when we will need it most.”8 Joseph Smith was talking about this time I think when he said, "…we shall have to flee to Zion. The cry is to make haste. The last revelation says, Ye shall not have time to have gone over the earth, until these things come. It will come...one pestilence after another until the Ancient of Days comes…"9 Recently, a missionary (Elder Nelson in California) excitedly reported about how technology has changed his work dramatically. He talked about how it is “hastening” his work (D&C 88:73), how skype helps “nations see eye to eye” (Mosiah 16:1), and that what is happening is a fulfillment of this scripture, "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." (Matthew 24:14) In my recent scripture study I came across what seemed to me a similar scripture in that missionaries are “sending” their message into all the world. D&C 84:62, “Therefore, go ye into all the world; and unto whatsoever place ye cannot go ye shall send, that the testimony may go from you into all the world unto every creature.” and then in verse 92 it says, “…and they [calamities] shall not be taken from the earth until I have completed My work, which shall be cut short in righteousness—“ There was another time of hastening that I think was significant to our day, that was in the days of Jeremiah before the destruction of Jerusalem, where the Lord told Jeremiah that he was foreordained to live in his time, that the Lord would put His words in Jeremiah’s mouth, and to “be not afraid” as the Lord would deliver him. As we look to inviting others in our lives we can also “be not afraid” as He will put His words in our mouths if we are doing our best to do His will and work. (Jeremiah 1:5-19) Elder Quentin L Cook said, "I will compare some circumstances of our day with those in the days of Jeremiah before the downfall of Jerusalem. In presenting this voice of warning..." He described many things that are similar between that time and now and talked about various forms of bondage. He talked about how Lehi’s was initially "a voice of warning, but after faithfully declaring the same message as Jeremiah, Lehi was commanded by the Lord to take his family and depart into the wilderness." Later in his talk, he said, "As the Doctrine and Covenants beautifully reads, “The righteous shall be gathered out from among all nations, and shall come to Zion, singing with songs of everlasting joy.” That eventual joy is what I hope for. Jesus admonished us to “be not troubled.” (Matthew 24:6) I truly believe the best way to do that is to keep the vision of the new Jerusalem, the redemption of the old, the return of Enoch’s Zion and Christ’s millennial reign continually before our minds…now that vision of the future is really exciting!10 During the "Hastening the Work of Salvation" broadcast, President Thomas S. Monson said: “Now is the time for members and missionaries to come together, to work together, to labor in the Lord’s vineyard to bring souls unto Him. He has prepared the means for us to share the gospel in a multitude of ways, and He will assist us in our labors if we will act in faith to fulfill His work.”11 May we do His work-the works of salvation-in this His time." 1) Elder M. 3. I was raised to believe we would all be called to Utah in the last days, though I'm not sure if it is real doctrine. Also, I've been told we would have a Mormon president eventually. Is this rumor urban legend or another piece of doctrine? Thanks guys!s
  4. For the first time in almost 2,000 years the Sanhedrin did as commanded by the bible and started the New Year on March 10th of 2016. (The priests also sacrificed a grain offering on a small temple altar at that time.) Some of us were following the "blood moons" on His "divine appointments" last year (much of that is explained in books, movies and videos) and when nothing happened on Elul 29-Feast of Trumpets some folks were upset and others ridiculed. But folks forgot or didn't know that this is a Shemitah/Jubilee two year period and we are not to the end of that yet. To me this is particularly apparent as a "God thing" when you note that when the year was started as instructed by the bible (as happened this year) that the solar eclipses and lunar eclipses on His New Year's days and main divine appointment days have continued through 2016. I am posting this for other "watchers" who would like to know these things as I believe they testify of His coming. I do not believe He will come soon "in glory" as the second coming is a progressive event (I believe starting with God and the Father appearing to Joseph Smith, then Jesus appearing to prophets in various temples, and we know he will appear at Adam-ondi-Ahman, at His temple in the New Jerusalem, to rescue the Jews in Jerusalem, etc. before He comes in glory to cleanse the Earth and judge humankind.) So...If these things interest you I will post some sources below that you can research further. Elder Bednar (and the scriptures of course) has repeatedly said in recent years to "Watch with all perserverance" and that is what I am trying to do. Perhaps some others will want to take the opportunity to learn about what is going on in the Heavens as well. The 7 High Holy Days this Year, 2016 (with some other perhaps significant dates thrown in) Spring 9-10 March [Nisan 1] . God's Biblical Calendar begins - New Year Total Solar Eclipse, New Moon, a supermoon 23-24 March . . . . . Passover Penumbral Lunar Eclipse also 2 comets (among the five closest to the Earth ever recorded) (2 day Seder observance in diaspora) 24-31 March . . . . . Feast of Unleavened Bread (7 day observance) 27-28 March . . . . . Feast of First Fruits (Resurrection) (1 day observance) ** 15-16 May . . . . . . Pentecost (1 day observance) ** Fall 3/4 August to 11 September is . . Teshuvah (40 Days of Repentance) So 9/11 significant?...perhaps very! The Jubilee year did not start until the Day of Atonement 2015 so a full year could end on the day of atonement or 9/11 this year. 1 September . . . . . Elul 29 * Annular Solar Eclipse -- this eclipse officially ends at 12:00 (exactly) UTC tim 2-4 September . . . . Feast of Trumpets and Civic New Year (2 day observance) 11-12 September . . . Day of Atonement (1 day observance) 16-23 September . . . Feast of Tabernacles Penumbral Lunar Eclipse (seven day observance) * In hindsight, it is not surprising that nothing happened last year on Elul 29 as prevously the Shemita years of 2001 and 2008 were not followed by a Jubilee year. Anciently they were to not sow for two years, the second year led to greater deliverance as well, particularly from debt and servitude. These were sacred years where they were able to be with family on the tribal lands and worship in ways that were not possible when sowing/harvesting. Perhaps in a way we are doing that as well...perhaps that is why there has been such a push to keep the Sabbath Day Holy this year? So with my watching Elul 29 or the Day of Atonement this year as the end of this third Shemitah (this year shemitah/jubilee) "week" in a row (prior two had significant stock market crashes), does anyone else see as very significant the fact that the Elul 29/Feast of Trumpets eclipse ends at 12:00 (an exact symbolic number?). When I saw the 12:00 exact time it just stuck out to me, you can find it here... http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/solar/2016-september-1 Also, some count the calendar a day different than others...http://www.ccg.org/weblibs/study-papers/a_p2016.html
  5. Epoch Conjunction of Jupiter and Venus - August 27, 2016 August 27, 2016 I watch Jupiter (the king planet), Venus (protector of the Jews) and Regulus (the King star of the Leo constellation which constellation represents the house of Judah) as so many signs in the heavens happened during His first coming related to these three celestiabl bodies and similar signs are happening again now related to His second coming. So, this Saturday is the nearest of the five conjunctions of Jupiter and Venus (2014-2017), which will be seen in the western sky just after sunset. (A similar retrograde group of conjunctions with Jupiter and Regulus happened with his first coming, but this time Venus has been dancing around Regulus and Jupiter.) 360 days from today is the rare total solar eclipse across the whole USA on August 21, 2017. If you are lucky enough to be in the shadow (like in Idaho or Missouri/Illinois) of this eclipse the sky will actually darken when it happens. This will begin the 40 days which is the Jewish Season of Repentance in 2017. And starts a repeating sign in the heavens that began with the tornado in SLC in 1999 and will happen five times which I call the TAVs. (Currently we are in the 2016 Season of Repentance leading up to 9/11 or the Day of Atonement 2016...end of this Jubilee year) ] If you are familiar with all the fours associated with the Passover 2015 lunar eclipse or have seen my free presentation in various recent conferences you will know why this is fascinating to me :)... 400 days from today is the Day of Atonement 2017. 444 days from now is the next Jupiter and Venus conjunction on November 13, 2017. This will be a very close conjunction of Jupiter and Venus, only 4 arc minutes (0.066 degrees...makes one wonder if the next number is 6 too ) apart! Some call this very rare conjunction an appulse which occurs when the separation between two bodies is at an absolute minimum! (Over the next 100 years, Venus and Jupiter come to within 20 arc minutes or less only 26 times...the next conjunction so close won't be until November 22, 2065 when Venus will appear to cross over in front of Jupiter) Of course many signs in the heavens point to the fall feasts of 2017, particularly the Feast of Trumpets. So "watching" is going to be really interesting this next year, hope y'all join me in watching!
  6. My wife and I were talking about how society has changed over the years, and what the future holds. I told her, The time is coming when people will call what we have now as "the good old days". For myself, as I read the prophecies of the future, it is like a story book, difficult to imagine. But I recently saw this story of the chaos in Venezuela today. I believe this is what the future holds for us. http://www.infowars.com/scenes-from-the-venezuela-apocalypse-countless-wounded-after-5000-loot-supermarket-looking-for-food/ I have learned something from this.
  7. Any thoughts on the 2nd U.S. Civil War? This was a letter from Nephi Packard to A. Milton Musser on July 24, 1896: "... My brother, Noah Packard, says that he heard the Prophet Joseph say that the next great (U.S. civil) war after the war of the rebellion (the Civil War of the 1860's between the North and the South) would commence in a little town now called Chicago but at that time it would have grown to be a very large city. And another brother told me that the Prophet said that the cause of the next great trouble of the United States would be the depreciation of the currency of the United States. I believe I have given you all the facts in as short and concise manner as possible." Second Great Rebellion or Chicago Quote - A. Milton Musser papers, LDS Church Archives. 1913 is when the Federal Reserve, which is actually a privately-owned central bank, took over the US banking system. The purchasing power of the US dollar since 1913 has been pretty much downhill since the Fed took over. In fact, the dollar has lost over 96% of its value. That means today’s dollar would be worth less than 4 cents back in 1913 (Source). The dollar is also losing its reserve currency status (see this). Another quote regarding the Civil War itself comes from an interview by Dr. Poulson with David Whitmer, printed in the Deseret News on Friday, August 16, 1878: Question: When will the temple be built in Independence? Answer: Right after the great tribulation is over Question: What do you mean by that? Answer: A civil war more bloody and cruel than the rebellion. It will be the smashing up of this nation, about which time the second great work has to be done, a work like Joseph did, and the translation of the sealed plates and peace all over. “What then will be the condition of that people, when this great and terrible war shall come? It will be very different from the war between the North and the South. Do you wish me to describe it? I will do so. It will be a war of neighborhood against neighborhood, city against city, town against town, county against county, state against state, and they will go forth destroying and being destroyed and manufacturing will, in a great measure, cease, for a time, among the American nation. Why? Because in these terrible wars, they will not be privileged to manufacture, there will be too much bloodshed--too much mobocracy--too much going forth in bands and destroying and pillaging the land to suffer people to pursue any local vocation with any degree of safety. What will become of millions of the farmers upon that land? They will leave their farms and they will remain uncultivated, and they will flee before the ravaging armies from place to place; and thus will they go forth burning and pillaging the whole country; and that great and powerful nation, now consisting of some forty millions of people, will be wasted away, unless they repent.” - O PRATT, JD 20:151 “The little gardens and a few trees are very valuable. I remember when the sisters used to say, `well, but we could buy it at the store a lot cheaper than we could put it up.' But that isn't quite the answer, is it, Sister Spafford? Because there will become a time when there isn't a store.” - Spencer W. Kimball (General Conference, April 1974) I saw men hunting the lives of their own sons, and brother murdering brother, women killing their own daughters, and daughters seeking the lives of their mothers. I saw armies arrayed against armies. I saw blood, desolation, fires. The Son of man has said that the mother shall be against the daughters, and the daughter against the mother. These things are at our doors. They will follow the Saints of God from city to city. Satan will rage, and the spirit of the devil is now enraged. I know not how soon these things will take place; but with a view of them, shall I cry peace? No; I will lift up my voice and testify of them. How long you will have good crops, and the famine be kept off, I do not know; when the fig tree leaves, know then that the summer is nigh at hand. - J SMITH, TPJS :161
  8. What exactly does it mean by "the elect"? Does it mean only a select number of people will go to Heaven in The Last Days?
  9. I am interested in participating in this forum as a means of sharing with any who will listen, what may be life saving and life enhancing knowledge obtained over the past 36 years of membership, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am currently the Clerk of the Ward where I and my wife attend, as well as a Primary Teacher and Scout leader, and we are regular Temple Ordinance Workers in the Boston, Massachussetts Temple. I hope to initiate a meaningful discussion related to the scriptural period after the opening of the Seventh Seal and just prior to the 2d Coming of the Lord. It will not be possible to carry on such a conversation without revealing additional information as to my personal and family history, and I look forward to getting to know those who participate in that discussion if any. JD
  10. I am hoping someone on here can help me locate a quote. A friend of mine a while back showed me a quote that I am now having difficulty finding. It was part of a supposed prophesy and had something to do with destruction occuring after a noneuopean president was elected and before his inauguration. Anyone heard of this? I'm not really looking to discuss the quote, just find it. Thanks.
