  1. My boyfriend grew up in the church but was never baptized. I grew up in a very sinful Antichristian household. I moved in with him and his family due to issue at home. Now we go to church on Sunday and I really enjoy it and feel the Holy Spirit there and want to become a member. My boyfriend says he’ll get baptized with me but we can’t be baptized until after we get married. I’m working on myself and becoming more Christ like (reprogramming myself from my childhood). Would it still be good for us to do lessons with the missionaries and go to Sunday school even though we won’t be able to be baptized member of the church for quite a while before we can get married.
  2. Hi, I am 28 year old recent convert to the church about 6 month ago nearly 7.I live by the standards of the church law of chastity, wisdom and thithing and attend sunday services and perform my calling faithfully . I have heard alot about the PB as We are teaching the YW about them and preparing them to recieve their own(my calling is in the YW presidency). I have prayed out it faithfully but i am not sure of the answer i recieved so i am still praying on it but i wanted some general advise if anyone else has been in my situation is it ok this soon or should i wait until i have a full temple recommendation. Any advise would be appreciated as this can be confusing to someone who has not grown up in the church
  3. Good morning, I tried three times to sign up for LDS Net because I had a pressing question. I botched each time. A friend set up a new email account for me and signed me up. I wish the admin would clear [email protected] so I could sign up under my regular email. things have not gone well for me and i was inactive for years and am now in a new ward. I was invited to a disciplinary court. I finally went to a anti mormon site (no sign up required) to try and find out more about this. They said terrible things and said not to go to court but to resign, but of course I wanted to get things right and i went last Thurday oct 6th and was disfellowshiped . I did not know this would happen. Now i would like to know what happened. Is disfellowshipped bad? The bishop is paying for me to go to LDS Family services and I have an assignment to clean the stake center each saturday. It takes about 7 hours but I need structure and it keeps me busy on Saturday, which is normally a bad day for me. He is very good to me. When I went I was terribly nervous and embarrassed but I have gotten over it. Anyhow can someone explain what happened? Will others find this to be a major flaw in me? I cant take the sacrament for at least one year. thanks a million.
  4. Hello! My name is Melisa. I am a recent convert to the LDS community. I was taught by to awesome Missionaries. I know that the Gospel is true because of them teaching me. I also know that by learning I can be with my Heavenly Father again. I would like to share what little of testimony I have with you now. When I first went to the church I was studying Wicca. I had a couple books on the subject and was reading them. I got about 5-10 pages in, in about a week. I went to church got the Gospel Principles book and could not put the book down. I asked for lessons before I started reading the GP. I felt a tug on my heart that day so I asked for lessons. I took all my lessons and before my lessons were done about the 2nd one in we had a baptismal date set. I was baptized the the 19th of June and confirmed the following Sunday. I have never felt better in my life! I always know that no matter where I go I always have Heavenly Father with me! I am loving my life and helping my family get back on track. I say these things in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
  5. Hi everyone. I'm a convert to the Church since 1998 and have recently been active again, like for the last year-and-a-half. Lots has happened since '98 and there are a lot of reasons I'm active again. I'm a 40 year-old married guy with one 10 YO son who I am extremely proud of. I've been married for 20 years to the same woman - she attends church fairly regularly but seems to be afraid of getting wet. My handle pretty much sums up my reason for seeking other avenues of counsel. Please excuse me for being rather cryptic - this is my intro post. I need to know which forum or group I should visit to discuss some issues I need help with. I could go to my Bishop, but that's kind of "the issue," if you're picking up what I'm laying down. Anyway, I'm glad to be here and hope to get some guidance and have some fun. Cheers.
  6. Hello, I am a new LDS author writing for Covenant. I am eager to reach out to other members of the church so that my books will fulfill a need among the LDS community. I want to know what concerns us all and what inspires us all to greater heights. Thank you! author of "Abish: Daughter of God" published January 2010
  7. Hello all... I'm new to the forums (obviously) and was kindly instructed by the notices and since I wanted to prove that I can be obedient to all things which I am commanded, here I am. My name is Jay. I'm a convert to the Church. I served my mission in Louisville, KY and the surrounding areas from September 2002 - October 2004. I was married and sealed to my lovely wife in the Las Vegas Temple in July of 2005. We welcomed our first little girl into the mortal life in August of 2006 and are expecting the newest future Relief Society General President in mid-January. Church-wise, I'm currently a teacher to the 14-15 year old Sunday School and home teaching district leader. I like my family, golf, my wife, golf, my kiddos, softball and my eternal companion. Looking forward to getting to know all of you along our path to the eternities.
  8. Hi everyone, I hope im not being completely idiotic and posting this in the wrong section or thread, But i just joined this forum, as my mum thought it would be great for me to meet new members, and what better way that to come on here and meet all you wonderful people from all over the world. Right, so about me (I'll try and keep this short I promise ) Ive been going to church since i was 2, im 19 now, I'm Single and I love the church and think its the most amazing thing ever! It helps me so much, and i have such a strong testimony, i have a calling as a Primary teacher for the younger class, which goes from 5 - 8 in my ward. My ward is tiny, but my stake is HUGE! One day i would love to go to Utah, and its always been a dream even when i was little, and i love to sing and dance, and even auditioned for the X -Factor in 2007, which for anyone that doesnt know what that is, its kinda like the American Idol show. other than that, nothing more to say :) Gosh that was an essay haha, hope i didn't bore you all to tears! Can't wait to meet y'all :)
  9. Hello everyone, my name is Jim. I am a newbie to this website so I hope to get chances to get to know everyone, I have been a member of the church going on 15 years. I live in Magnolia, which is just outside Houston, Texas. It's a quiet rural area, and I am happy to be just inside an area for DSL, and outside enough to not worry as much about locking my doors. I currently serve in the Magnolia First Ward of the Klein Stake in Zion, I am very proud of my calling as Elder's Quarum Secretary and serving faithfully as a part of a Presidency. It is my hope that this is a first step for me in serving faithfully in many callings for Heavenly Father, and it is my pleasure and hope to get to know as many of you as I can. Thank you, Jim
