Feeling Isolated by everyone Non-Mormon
Justme posted a topic in Support in Hard TimesSo I made a purchase to a "YouTube Academy" called JumpCut. I hoped it would teach me how to be a YouTuber, and make/advertise better videos. All I got, was some advice I could have gotten for free on regular YouTube channels, and a lot of lessons that included over-the-top vulgarity and over-all crudeness mixed in with standard YouTube advice. There was a community section, where someone posted a complaint about all the vulgarity. I agreed with it-- and totally got singled out and ostracized for being a non-cusser/family-friendly promoter. Although, I think it was the first time I have ever been called a pandering archaic minority that doesn't think outside of the proverbial box (cleaned/condensed version). Needless to say, I asked for cancellation (which I'm not sure they will agree too. ouch $$.) Now I just feel isolated, period. I want to be apart of people's lives who aren't LDS. And even LDS people are hard because they are so, f.r.e.a.k.i.n.g. BUSY. I just want to make YouTube videos with my kids, and have clean fun with the people around me. Why is that so hard??
emilyhope posted a topic in Current EventsI recently invited over my grandfather's brother, Uncle Doug for icecream cake to celebrate both my husband and my grandfather's birthday... This was on Facebook because he lives a state away but is currently nearby in their vacation home at the beach. No response except to put a post up on Harry Reid complaining about the tax hike and his Mormonism... I was a little shocked when I saw this Uncle Doug was recently diagnosed with bone cancer and told he has 18 months to live, he is a christian however, but my husband and our family are the only LDS members... the rest of my family are non believers or a mix of "yes we believe"... but don't go to any church. Its really sad that this could be one of the last opportunities we could have to get our families together, and he is refusing to even acknowledge my invite.

cooldice23 posted a topic in Introduce YourselfHello! I'm new here! I'm here specifically because I have some questions about Mormonism, both in theology and in practice. I tried to ask the folks over at mormon.org, but it seemed like they were really restricted about what they could talk about. The questions I have are pretty involved, so I won't go into them here. I'm 31 and married, we have two dogs and live near Austin, TX. I was raised Jehovah's Witness, and am currently not affiliated with any religion. I have been a student of religious belief my whole life, (which started in a small town called Palmer, Alaska), and find nothing so fascinating, both academically and personally as the way that people relate to God and the way that that affects their day to day life. I can say this: I did not come here to be converted. I came here because I have honest questions about Mormons that I'd like to have answered by Mormons. I can promise that as long as you're being cool, open and honest with me, I'll be friendly, open, and nonjudgmental of your beliefs.
