A Different Take on Paul...

For you consideration...

Paul the false apostle

Not saying I agree, just a interesting perspective.

Revisionism disguised as scholarship. Some people are so eager to sell books, tapes or get speaking gigs that will say anything to get noted.

The Savior called Saul to be a missionary in his ministry and the brethren confirmed him to the apostleship a decade later as evident in Galatians 2:9. By AD 49 in the Jerusalem meeting it is evident that Paul is one of the Apostles recognized by the early leadership of Peter, James and John.

Beyond that, this is where the BoM is far superior to the bible. There is no ambiguity, no obscurity and no doubt of the role and appointment of the prophets, seers and apostles of the Lord. It should be noted that away from the Gospels and Acts, the letters of the Apostles were not intended to be "official documents" of the nascent church. It was personal correspondence between friends dealing with a wide and varied number of subjects. To them it was not doctrine or revelation.

Theorizing "novel" interpretation of the interplay between early Christian leaders is not new. This is just one more spiritually destitute seeking attention.

The problem with deciding Paul's a false prophet is that very little of NT would be left behind....

The letters from Romans to Philemon would need dropping.

Then of course whoever right Luke/Acts was clearly in the Pauline party.

But if your not trusting Luke then the other two synoptic gospels Mark and Matthew are also doubtful. (Especially since John Mark, the most commonly presumed author of Mark also appears mixed up the Pauline party)

That leaves you with John, Hebrews, James 1-2 Peter 1-2-3 John and Revelation. With Hebrews also possibly suspect, it doesn't leave much to go on. Revelation being an apocalypse is very vague due to its genre. 1-2-3 John are so small to be of not a lot of use.

The problem with Paul is that in modern times he is the most important Apostle of Christ and has more to do with defining Christianity in our day than any other follower of Christ up until the restoration. Yet Paul was never the leading authority of the ancient body of Christians.

One reason for the popularity of Paul is his connection to the Gentiles. The fact that Paul is so important today is testimony that we live in the day of the “fullness of the Gentiles”. Except for Paul, all other Biblical scripture would be of the view point of those raised in the covenants of the house of Israel.

Few understand the importance of the restoration and that only by the restoration is Ephraim (a gentile Egyptian name with obvious symbolic meaning) united with Judah.
