4th Annual Nauvoo Women's Retreat

March 26, 27: Nauvoo, IL (Camp Nauvoo Lodge)

Omaha Region YSA Activity

March 27-28: Omaha, NE

Join young single adults from 8 stakes in Nebraska for two days of fun. Friday’s activities will include dinner, speed dating, and a dance. On Saturday, following breakfast, young single adults will go out into the Omaha community and provide needed service to various organizations. The event will conclude with a testimony meeting at 1:00 p.m., held at the Historic Kanesville Tabernacle. Come experience the joy of service! Cast Call for Winter Quarters Musical "Come Home to Kanesville"

Deadline: March 31

Interviewing has begun for singer-dancers (adults; female romantic lead, age 16+; male romantic lead, age 18+; female romantic lead, age 35-ish; male romantic lead, age 40+; male narrator, age 30-70) and stage crew (lighting, sound, and stage technicians) for the Winter Quarters Pageant, entitled “Come Home to Kanesville.” Prospective company members should contact us by 31 March at [email protected]. Food and lodging with "approved" local church members, (for significant reduction in participants’ expenses) available.

Applicants will need a bishop's interview and will be expected to maintain LDS standards throughout the production. Those interested may audition via DVD cutting, VHS cutting, or YouTube-3 minutes maximum. For more information, contact us at [email protected], or kanesville.org.

Multi-Stake Single Adult Conference

March 13-14: West Columbia, SC

General Young Women Meeting

March 28: Broadcasted from the Conference Center

The theme for this year is "Be Thou an Example of the Believers." Speakers will be selected from the General Young Women Presidency and the First Presidency, and the broadcast will begin at 6:00 p.m. MDT. (It will also be rebroadcast two hours later.) Tickets are no longer available, but standby seating is available.

A Classical Music Bouquet by the Orchestra at Temple Square

March 26, 27: Salt Lake City, UT (Tabernacle at Temple Square)

The Orchestra at Temple Square, under the direction of Igor Gruppman, will present A Classical Music Bouquet at 7:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle. Works include Barber's Adagio for Strings, Shostakovich's Symphony no. 5, and a Bach suite. Other works include Bruch's Kol Nidrei (with Vesna Gruppman, viola soloist) and Josef Malkin's Songs for Soprano and Orchestra, with Channa Malkin, soprano.

2009 New England Family History Conference

March 28: Franklin, MA (LDS Church Building on 91 Jordan Road)

This year's conference will feature special classes on nationality research in Portuguese, Canadian, and German/European records, as well as classes on internet research technology, molecular genealogy (DNA), poor records research, the NEW familysearch.org, and more. Featured speakers include Anna Swayne from the Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation SLC, UT; Mary Hill from The Family History Library in Salt Lake City; and Tom Kemp from Genealogybank.com.
