From a press release dated Nov. 3, 2009

In a new book, “The Beast And The Whore”, Utah resident Frank Keele shares his views about the apocalyptic era. The title of the book was inspired by events portrayed by John the Revelator in chapters 17 & 18 of the Book of Revelations.

What did John the Revelator and the prophet Daniel of the Old Testament have in common? According to Mr. Keele, “they both predicted events that will occur just before the Second Coming of Christ”.

Mr. Keele states, “John the Revelator saw our day in great detail. In Revelations he tells how the beast and the whore will do battle, and the wicked will destroy the wicked”. A free online preview shows how Johns prophetic words foreshadow events that lead to the end of the day of the Gentiles. Then in chapter ten, also included in the preview, the reader is shown how these same events are detailed again by the prophet Daniel.

Didn't you already announce in another thread that you are the author and offered a preview?

Aside from Utah residency what expertise does Mr. Keele have in apolitical literature?

Assuming pam is correct, and she usually is about post on the board (that should make up for the age joke :) ) why should we read this book over one written by any other Jon Doe?

(not to be confused with the boards Jon doe, who IIRC is somehow related to pam)

Don't get me wrong, i could be a great read but what makes the authors interpretation better then others? If your trying to "sell" the book you need something aside from authors geographical location IMO.

The author has written a fascinating read. How can we doubt it? He says so himself.

Coincidentally, I have just finished my own magnum opus, "The Beer and the Host". It's a review of medieval Catholic sacramental practices among the regular clergy.

It will be immensely popular with all the folks in the 14th Century Black Forest region, once they learn how to read.

I could not get past the Introduction.

As a writer, this has a serious amount of issues from the beginning of the introduction. One glaring mistake is that this shows the author's unwillingness to take his own writing seriously.

NEVER put in a book - especially one like this - JHMO (Just my Humble Opinion). The reader does not want to know your JHMO.

In all honesty, there is a lot of work that needs to be accomplished before further consideration in putting this out in published form.

Have you had people critique your writing? ie, do you belong to any online writing forums? writingforums.com absolutewrite.com and their water cooler writing forum, writersbeat.com?

Also, the use of pronouns "I" does not belong in this type of writing.

There is no coherent thesis statement in the writing as well.

Mechanics - you have an introduction, then you have a summary. If you understood the writing process, you would understand that the Introduction is where you provide a summary of the key points you are going to discuss and examine.

It does not follow American Standard English.

You also have no bibliography for source verification.

My suggestion, do more homework on writing, publishing, and proper citations. If you are concerned about First Publication Rights and are seeking to have this published, pull the document from your website. Why? Because if you are looking to publish this (unless it is outside of traditional publication formats), the document is considered "already published" and will prove even more difficult to find someone to publish this.

I'm also finishing up my latest work "The Deer and the Door" which is an examination of alternative methods employed by Americans to obtain wild meat without the use of firearms or traditional weapons of any kind.

(The critics in Kentucky are *raving* about it so far.... ;) )
